Says he wants access to an extension of credit to answer Mercantile Speculations, which I apprehend I can make to profit for these few months to come. Postscript says he enclosed letter from Mrs. Randall is for Lucy Knox (not included). Stamped FREE on verso. Knox answers Randall's letter on 21 July 1791 (GLC02437.05077).

He then read in the Gazette to my great astonishment Mrs. Harwood's Name among the list of Bankrupts. Believes that there is little hope that any part of your debt to Messrs. Wright and Gill, or myself being liquidated from this source we must beg that you will find some other way of discharging the same.
