Book THIRTY SESSIONS of ROYAL CONFESSIONS and PRAYERS

Download or read book THIRTY SESSIONS of ROYAL CONFESSIONS and PRAYERS written by Enos MANAKIRA and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2018-04 with total page 111 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our worst enemy is our thoughts (Proverbs 23:7). The majority of us regularly feed on poisonous thoughts. Such thoughts also come from Church. This is one of my main reasons for writing of this book. It's meant to be an antidote to poisonous thinking coming mostly from incorrect Law-based teachings. The book is meant to inject our thinking with dosages of the Gospel, which is the ultimate reality for setting the captives free. In Luke 4:18, Jesus spoke of the effects of preaching the Gospel, the power of God to save. We can use this Gospel-centred book to transform our thoughts. It has a message about the ultimate antidote to poisonous thoughts, the Word of Christ. If we meditate on the Word of Christ and speak it, we release the power from within us and we experience effortless change and success. We can frequently use declarations when we are on our own in our closets as well as when we are with others elsewhere. As we meditate on the portions of reference verses in this book we can also form our own declarations. We've to allow declarations to become part of our life-styles. Declarations are an opportunity to use our mouths to change our situations. That's when we use our words to change our situations. The miracle is in our mouths. We could use declarations in prayer or meditation. They are means of fixing our thoughts on the Gospel of Christ. This is important 6 because the thing we fix our thoughts on and declare will definitely influence us and it will eventually manifest. This is the higher way of God based on His higher thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). I call theses declarations Royal Confessions; they are confessions of faith affirming that Jesus's death and resurrection ushered us into a position of honour where Christ is. In Christ, we are royalty (1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 1:6). Such confessions are means of renewing our minds (Romans 12:2) from the Gospel as it reflects the status of our born-again spirits in Christ Jesus. If these truths can be rooted in us and we get rooted in them their ultimate realities will begin to manifest in our lives (Ephesians 3:17; Colossians 2:7; Psalms 1:3). Fixing our thoughts on Christ releases an anointing of ease in all areas of our lives (Psalms 25:13; Matthew 11:28). The blessing of God makes us rich without sorrow (Proverbs 10:22). It brings us under an open Heaven (Isaiah 63:19; Genesis 28:12; John 1:51) where the stolen years are abundantly restored (Deuteronomy 30:3; Joel 2:25-26). It catapults us to years ahead (Amos 9:13; Psalms 23:6). Focusing on Christ is the way for our lost years to be recovered by more than a hundredfold. It will no longer take too long for us to become the people we were created to be! It's never too late! In Christ, there is an oversupply of Grace to accelerate the late comer. Let this message empower us to perfectly connect into the body of Christ and the unity of faith, till we attain the full measure of the stature of Christ Jesus (Ephesians 4:13). 7 Let the seeds of greatness in the message of the cross be sown in us and cause us to be fruitful and multiply. May we become the head and not the tail, and be above and not beneath. May the person of Grace cause us to see every benefit of the cross in our lives because of the nature of our union with Him.

Download or read book Standing in the Breach written by Michael Widmer and published by Penn State Press. This book was released on 2015-09-02 with total page 607 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the heart of this study is a biblical-theological approach to central passages on intercessory prayers in the OT. After examining these largely prophetic prayer dialogues, Widmer argues that they provide an important key to biblical theology and spirituality. Furthermore, a close reading of prayers by Abraham, Moses, Samuel, David, Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Joel, and Amos reveals fascinating insights into the portrayals of these characters and confirms strong conceptual associations with Moses, Israel’s archetypal mediator. Widmer reads these prayers in both their immediate literary and wider canonical contexts. The ultimate aim of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of the God whom the church worships and confesses to be the Father of Jesus Christ. Particularly pertinent is the finding that many OT prayers interact with God’s nature as revealed to Moses in Exod 34:6–7. Yhwh’s fullest revelation is also given in the context of an intercessory prayer. Widmer argues that intercessory prayer and theology have a hermeneutical-spiral relationship, mutually informing and correcting each other. It is in engaging with a loving and holy God that the phenomenon of divine mutability must be understood. Overall, Standing in the Breach suggests that fundamental biblical themes such as God’s mercy and judgment, divine retribution and forgiveness, covenant mediation, substitutionary suffering and atonement, and eventually the dynamics of the cross are all intrinsically related to and illuminated by prophetic OT intercessory prayers.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Michael Thompson has had a long-standing interest in the Old Testament, and during recent years has focused in particular on the subject of prayer. It has been his ambition to write a book which will offer guidance to those in the churches who are asking what the Old Testament has to say to them about the life of prayer today, yet which will also help those who wish to study Old Testament prayer in a more academic way. The book is thus about an aspect of biblical spirituality, but it also seeks to be a guide to those who wish to delve further into this neglected subject.
