Book Thick target Bremsstrahlung from Electrons with an Energy Spectrum and an Angular Distribution

Download or read book Thick target Bremsstrahlung from Electrons with an Energy Spectrum and an Angular Distribution written by Gilberto Ialongo and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A formula for the bremsstrahlung radiation cross section from thick targets has been derived for monoenergetic electrons impinging normally on the absorber and has been extended to the case where electrons are allowed to have an energy spectrum and an angular distribution. The basic theory makes use of the Bethe-Heitler formula for thin targets and includes corrections for the absorption and buildup of photons, electron penetration in the target including multiple electron scattering, electron backscattering out of the target, electron energy loss in the target, and electron - electron bremsstrahlung. Book X ray Distribution from Sources Operating at Five to Fifteen Million Electron Volts

Download or read book X ray Distribution from Sources Operating at Five to Fifteen Million Electron Volts written by PETER. HOFFMANN-PINTHER and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The forward spectrum for a thick target was calculated for electrons with incident energy of 10, 15, 20, and 30 moc sq. (1 m sub o c squared = 0.511 mev). The angular distribution was computed for incident electron energies of 20 and 30 moc sq. To supplement these computations, the thin target bremsstrahlung was computed for several incident electron energies and apertures of the beam. A hardness factor was also computed for the thin targets. The equations for the thick target forward spectrum and the thin target spectrum were coded for the Burroughs 204 Digital computer. Book Handbook of Accelerator Physics and Engineering

Download or read book Handbook of Accelerator Physics and Engineering written by Alex Chao and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1999 with total page 702 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Edited by internationally recognized authorities in the field, this handbook focuses on Linacs, Synchrotrons and Storage Rings and is intended as a vade mecum for professional engineers and physicists engaged in these subjects. Here one will find, in addition to the common formulae of previous compilations, hard to find specialized formulae, recipes and material data pooled from the lifetime experiences of many of the world's most able practitioners of the art and science of accelerator building and operation.

Book Electromagnetic Radiation of Electrons in Periodic Structures

Download or read book Electromagnetic Radiation of Electrons in Periodic Structures written by Alexander Potylitsyn and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-05-06 with total page 219 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Periodic magnetic structures (undulators) are widely used in accelerators to generate monochromatic undulator radiation (UR) in the range from far infrared to the hard X-ray region. Another periodic crystalline structure is used to produce quasimonochromatic polarized photon beams via the coherent bremsstrahlung mechanism (CBS). Due to such characteristics as monochromaticity, polarization and adjustability, these types of radiation is of large interest for applied and basic research of accelerator-emitted radiation. The book provides a detailed overview of the fundamental principles behind electromagnetic radiation emitted from accelerated charged particles (e.g. UR, CBS, radiation of fast electrons in Laser flash fields) as well as a unified description of relatively new radiation mechanisms which attracted great interest in recent years. This are the so-called polarization radiation excited by the Coulomb field of incident particles in periodic structures, parametric X-rays, resonant transition radiation and the Smith-Purcell effect. Characteristics of such radiation sources and perspectives of their usage are discussed. The recent experimental results as well as their interpretation are presented.
