The thermoclines were categorized in four types, smooth, normal, rough, and irregular. The power spectrum of vertical oscillation in the thermocline showed small peaks at wavelengths of 0.3 and 0.7 mile. The slopes of isotherms were determined from a study of over 65,000 data samplings. (Author).
