Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 1.1. Introduction: The continuous trend towards sophisticated thick-film hybrid circuits increases the need for simple means temperature of measurement and compensation [1, 2]. The recent progress in applying microcontrollers to control equipments requires a large number of low cost, highly reliable, temperature sensors [3] Thick-film ceramics (thermistors) are expected to meet these requirements because of high reproducibility, flexibility and compatibility [4], apart from cost effective method of fabrication. The concepts of thick film NTC (negative temperature coefficient) devices are quite attractive from a system design and manufacturing viewpoint [5], Ceramics of 3d transition metals Mn, Fe, Co, Ni are used extensively in devices (thermistors) that operate at room temperature, with favorable combination of resistivity and coefficient of temperature sensitivity [6-12].
