Book Theoretical Rocket Performance of JP 4 Fuel with Several Fluorine oxygen Mixtures Assuming Equilibrium Composition

Download or read book Theoretical Rocket Performance of JP 4 Fuel with Several Fluorine oxygen Mixtures Assuming Equilibrium Composition written by Sanford Gordon and published by . This book was released on 1958 with total page 69 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Theoretical rocket performance for equilibrium composition during expansion was calculated for JP-4 fuel with several fluorine-oxygen mixtures for a range of pressure ratios and oxidant-fuel ratios. The parameters included are specific impulse, combustion-chamber temperatures. Nozzle-exit temperature, molecular weight, characteristics velocity, coefficient of thrust, ratio of nozzle-exit area to throat area, specific heat at constant pressure, isentropic exponent, viscosity, thermal conductivity, and equilibrium gas compositions. A correlation is given for the effect of chamber pressure on several of the parameters.

This book was released on 1957 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Theoretical rocket performance for frozen composition during expansion was calculated for JP-4 fuel with several fluorine-oxygen mixtures for a large range of pressure ratios and oxidant-fuel ratios. The parameters included are specific impulse, combustion-chamber temperature, nozzle-exit temperature, molecular weight, characteristic velocity, coefficient of thrust, ratio of nozzle-exit area to throat area, specific heat at constant pressure, isentropic exponent, viscosity, and thermal conductivity. Book Theoretical Performance of JP 4 Fuel and Liquid Oxygen as a Rocket Propellant

Download or read book Theoretical Performance of JP 4 Fuel and Liquid Oxygen as a Rocket Propellant written by Vearl N. Huff and published by . This book was released on 1956 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Data were calculated for equivalence ratios of 1 to 3, chamber pressures of 300 and 600 pounds per square inch absolute, and pressure ratios of 1 to 1500. Parameters included are specific impulse, combustion and exit temperature, molecular weight, characteristic velocity, coefficient of thrust, ratio of nozzle-exit area to throat area, specific heat at constant pressure, isentropic exponent, viscosity, and thermal conductivity. A correlation is given which permits determination of performance for a wide range of chamber pressure.

Book Theoretical Rocket Performance of JP 4 Fuel with Mixtures of Liquid Ozone and Fluorine

Download or read book Theoretical Rocket Performance of JP 4 Fuel with Mixtures of Liquid Ozone and Fluorine written by Vearl N. Huff and published by . This book was released on 1956 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Data were estimated by means of a heat correction equation using data for JP-4 fuel with mixtures of oxygen and fluorine. The estimated data were checked for several cases by direct calculations. The difference in specific impulse between the estimated and directly calculated values was from 0.2 to 0.8 pound-second per pound. The maximum value of specific impulse was 334.9 pound-seconds per pound for a combustion-chamber pressure of 600 pounds per square inch absolute and an exit pressure of 1 atmosphere.

Book The Chemistry of Propellants

Download or read book The Chemistry of Propellants written by S. S. Penner and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-09-01 with total page 666 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Chemistry of Propellants is a collection of papers and comments presented at the meeting on "The Chemistry of Propellants, held in Paris, France on June 8-12, 1959, organized by the AGARD Combustion and Propulsion Panel. This book is organized into six parts encompassing 25 chapters that serve as an introduction to the broad and important subject of propellant chemistry and propulsion applications. The first part deals with the sources, availability, and comparative costing of propulsion system. The second and third parts discuss the theoretical, thermodynamic, and experimental aspects of liquid and solid propellants. The fourth part examines the main problems concerning preparation, storage, and use of propellants for ramjet, while the fifth part looks into the factors leading to deposits in jet engines and some of the consequences of their existence. The sixth part covers the advantages of the high energy chemical propellants, including fluorine and hydrogen. Combustion and propulsion scientists and researchers will find this book beneficial.
