Book Theoretical Magnetofluiddynamics

Download or read book Theoretical Magnetofluiddynamics written by Henri Cabannes and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Theoretical Magnetofluiddynamics provides an overview of the state of knowledge in magnetofluiddynamics and its applications. Magnetofluiddynamics is concerned with the study of the interaction between magnetic fields and fluid conductors of electricity. This discipline serves to unite classical fluid mechanics with electromagnetism of media in motion; therefore, it is equally of interest to students of electrodynamics and to those of aerodynamics. The former always think of speeds which are of the order of the speed of light while the latter confine their attention to speeds which are of the order of the speed of sound. This book contains six chapters and begins by establishing equations of magnetofluiddynamics in detail, both for motion with shock waves and for continuous motion. Subsequent chapters deal with weak discontinuities or discontinuities in the derivatives of the characteristic flow quantities; strong discontinuities or discontinuities in the characteristic flow quantities; and one-dimensional motion, motion in ducts, and structure of shock waves; and motion past obstacles.

Book Magnetofluiddynamics a Theoretical Study

Download or read book Magnetofluiddynamics a Theoretical Study written by Manoj Kumar and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012-07 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Throughout the world scientists are trying to understand the mystry of creation of this Universe and its behaviour thereafter. Complete behaviour of various stellar and Planetary processes are not easy to understand. Complex interaction of electromagnetic field and fluid dynamic field is to be understood properly. Magnetofluiddynamics (MFD)is the branch where we study such interactions. This book presents a coherant, comprehensive account of fundamentals of Magnetofluiddynamics. The book discusses some nice methods of dealing with the Magnetofluiddynamic problems. Various techniques are dealt in crisp language with clear thought and in rigorous mathematical expositions. This book is unique in more ways than one and will help students as well as researchers of Theoretical Physics and Applied Mathematics.

Book Magnetofluiddynamics in Channels and Containers

Download or read book Magnetofluiddynamics in Channels and Containers written by U. Müller and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book deals with the theme of incompressible flows of electrically conducting fluids in hydraulic components. The main content of the book is a result of engineering research associated with the design of liquid metal cooling systems for fusion reactors. The book is well suited to serve as a guide for utilising magnetohydrodynamic means in other engineering disciplines such as in material processing, metallurgical engineering and power engineering.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides an understanding of the physics at work in sunspots and solar coronal loops, and offers a new approach to Magneto-Fluid-Dynamics (or Magneto-Hydro-Dynamics).The book stresses the use of electric currents in Magneto-Fluid-Dynamics. As a rule, authors discuss magnetic field lines without referring to the required electric currents. It also stresses the importance of electric space charges inside conductors that move in magnetic fields.

Book Handbook on Plasma Instabilities

Download or read book Handbook on Plasma Instabilities written by Ferdinand Cap and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Handbook on Plasma Instabilities, Volume 1 serves as an introduction to the field of plasma physics and plasma instabilities. Topics covered include basic plasma physics, statistical plasma theory, and magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), as well as the many-species theory and plasma containment. The motion of individual particles, oscillations and waves, and MHD instabilities of a real and an ideal plasma are also discussed. This volume is comprised of 13 chapters and begins with a survey of the various applications of plasma sciences and an overview of the fundamental concepts of plasma physics. Basic plasma physics, the physics of instabilities, orbit theory, kinetic theory, MHD, and the many-fluid theory are then presented. The following chapters focus on the principles of plasma containment and waves in plasmas, together with the basic features of plasma instabilities and their classification. The classical MHD stability theory of an ideal and of a real plasma is also described. The final chapter is devoted to drift waves and drift instabilities in inhomogeneous plasmas, paying particular attention to the theory of gradient instabilities and the microscopic theory of waves in non-homogeneous collisionless plasmas. This handbook is intended for beginners in plasma physics and plasma instabilities and for physicists and engineers working actively in the field.

Book Stochastic Tools in Turbulence

Download or read book Stochastic Tools in Turbulence written by John L. Lumey and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stochastic Tools in Turbulence discusses the available mathematical tools to describe stochastic vector fields to solve problems related to these fields. The book deals with the needs of turbulence in relation to stochastic vector fields, particularly, on three-dimensional aspects, linear problems, and stochastic model building. The text describes probability distributions and densities, including Lebesgue integration, conditional probabilities, conditional expectations, statistical independence, lack of correlation. The book also explains the significance of the moments, the properties of the characteristic function, and the Gaussian distribution from a more physical point of view. In considering fields, one must account for single-valued functions of one or more parameters, or collections of single-valued functions of one or more parameters such as time or space coordinates. The text also discusses multidimensional vector fields of finite energy, the characteristic eddies for a homogenous vector field, as well as, the distribution of solutions of an algebraic equation. Engineers, algebra students, and professors of statistics and advanced mathematics will find the book highly useful.
