Book The Worst Evil Losing Yourself

Download or read book The Worst Evil Losing Yourself written by Arla Caraboolad and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-01-28 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Arlas journey left her sure she had a self, but uncertain where to look for validation of it. Fortunately, her self lead her to question God. She began to discover that God really does LOVE people, in fact He likes them, and anything that disconnects us from Him, or causes us to deny our potential, was not from God, but was a result, directly or indirectly, of evil. Drawing from her experience as a therapist, Arla shares how evil works through authority figures to make children (and adults) doubt their value and worth. She provides very detailed and practical advice about the struggle between good and evil that pervades our world; and how this battle manifests itself in our lives. She shows how false beliefs, even if youre unconscious of them, distort self-worth and lead us to make dangerous and discouraging choices; and how a correct understanding of God can heal you and lead to discovering your true self. Why do we make the choices we do? What is it that compels us to drift in certain directions? Are there forces working behind the scenes to affect our daily life? Are there tools we can employ in our lives that will make a difference? Do we have a choice? Must we accept the lies placed on us? Is there research that supports the affect of our choices? If you have wondered why you make choices you wish you didnt make, and how to start making choices that fulfill you and bring you to experience real joy, this is the book for you. Do you feel empty, like you have no choice? Can life change? Is there hope? Are you stuck? Here is understanding. Read and find strength and hope. Awaken to the fact that you are desired as you are.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I grew up believing self-love was a bad thing. It was the belief of the Christian church I was raised in, I think. But whether that was so or not, my parents had been raised in dysfunctional families, and had no sense of self-worth anyway. A vague sense of uneasiness surrounded the second and third decades of my life. I married at 28, became a mother just before turning 30, was separated within the year, divorced and enrolled in grad school by 35. How much did my dis-ease contribute to my failed marriage? "Not much." I told myself. My heartbreak was for my daughter. I believed I was coping well. It wasn't until I started dating again that I had to acknowledge my own "issues." In my graduate studies of family therapy they were identified with labels and causes. And suddenly I realized that I had always felt like a child hiding-out iin an adult body. Feelings that came up, carrying words like, "If they really knew me..." begin to register. I was thawing. I started to feel again. I must have banished former feelings to cope. I begin to understand shame. So birthed the discovery of my lost self: the pieces I had disowned in order to be ok. Losing your "self," the one that can experience joy and beauty, peace and wholeness, the one you were designed to be, is the worst thing that can happen to a human being. To lose your true self is to lose everything. You are all you have. You can get by with a false self, but when your heart stops beating and your breathing stops, it's over for you. Your mask falls, irrelevant. Is there danger of that? Can you lose you? Far too easily... The true self acquired by risking for true love ends in finding yourself forever. The false self attained by pretending: playing it safe, covering up flaws, hiding from hurt and shame ends in total loss. This self is also called the persona or the mask. I wrote this book because I know there are a lot of people who don't understand this, just as I didn't. I want to introduce a few of the main ways evil tries to trip us up and keep us in the dark. All of it comes from my experiences or those of my clients of 30 years in doing family systems therapy. Some wanted their names changed, some didn't. A few stories are favorites from other authors. This is in no way exhaustive. It's only the tip of the iceberg. It's some main points you need to know: evil's wiles that confuse us, stealing our joy, our peace our very selves. Self is a life and death matter.

Book excerpt: Roy Masters, in his delightfully shocking book "Eat No Evil," quickly dispels all of the myths surrounding our fascination with food. Rather than offer the public another health food diet, he bypasses the mumbo jumbo of the experts and strikes straight to the heart of the matter, unearthing for the first time the hidden cause of our cravings. If you had been born, say, two thousand years ago, you wouldn't need this book. You would be sustaining yourself naturally by eating all the right foods. But, alas, you were born in the twentieth century, as if in a cage, a bleak environment of steel and concrete and supermarket-processed food. Need I say more about the devitalized, bran-stripped junk you are eating? So now it behooves you to thread your way back through the maze of food traumas and conditioning to discover what God intended you to do with the natural bounty he provided. Food is to the intestines what truth is to the spirit. In both cases, we must keep a clean house. The problem is that a wrong person cannot possibly eat right food. You will see that the primary emphasis is on the spiritual weaknesses that led you into temptation in the first place. Bear in mind that you must get right to eat right.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From A Kid To A King: Learning How To Transition From Immaturity To Maturity By: Edward L. Butler About the Book There comes a time in a man's life where he has to grow up. Grow up? Yes, grow up! All because a man looks like one doesn't mean that he is. Most men believe that once they see certain attributes of manhood; they are the men they need to be. See, there is more to being a man than by appearance alone. Becoming a man has little to do with the outward appearance of age and looks, but has everything to do with maturing the inner man. As men, it is very vital to understand the mindset. It takes guts-a lot of guts to perform certain duties in becoming a man. In this book, you learn to unlearn immature habits, revamp your thinking, capture your identity, and get clarity on what a king's role is and how to act in it. It’s an evaluation, which means to rectify your flaws! Once a man understands his flaws, he is able to understand what is needed to discipline himself to be less flawed. The more a man works on himself, the more disciplined he becomes to be wise, and the less he will deal with fools who are unequally yoked with mature wisdom. A self-check of oneself is an up on many men who decline on a self-evaluation. You see things other men can't see, and you understand things that other men misunderstand. Keep this as a mindset... “Feelings aren’t serious friends! They lie, procrastinate and are very indecisive.” Lean not on your feelings when engaging this book. But put forth the actions needed to transition into a more mature man!

Book Nietzsche s Zarathustra

Download or read book Nietzsche s Zarathustra written by C. G. Jung and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-12-18 with total page 640 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a young man growing up near Basel, Jung was fascinated and disturbed by tales of Nietzsche's brilliance, eccentricity, and eventual decline into permanent psychosis. These volumes, the transcript of a previously unpublished private seminar, reveal the fruits of his initial curiosity: Nietzsche's works, which he read as a student at the University of Basel, had moved him profoundly and had a life-long influence on his thought. During the sessions the mature Jung spoke informally to members of his inner circle about a thinker whose works had not only overwhelmed him with the depth of their understanding of human nature but also provided the philosophical sources of many of his own psychological and metapsychological ideas. Above all, he demonstrated how the remarkable book Thus Spake Zarathustra illustrates both Nietzsche's genius and his neurotic and prepsychotic tendencies. Since there was at that time no thought of the seminar notes being published, Jung felt free to joke, to lash out at people and events that irritated or angered him, and to comment unreservedly on political, economic, and other public concerns of the time. This seminar and others, including the one recorded in Dream Analysis, were given in English in Zurich during the 1920s and 1930s.
