Book The Word the Breath the Saving Grace

Download or read book The Word the Breath the Saving Grace written by Robert R. Whitford and published by . This book was released on 2014-03-10 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A funny thing happens to you when you get older. Maybe for the first time in your life you think about your mortality. With that newfound realization of the impermanence of human life, you might think about your actual mortal soul. In the last few years I have had that particular realization as have many others, I am sure, who also realized they had wasted their youth in the singular pursuit of pleasure and selfishness. I have even had the effrontery to let hurl from my mouth the outright denial of the existence of an all-powerful and forgiving God. With my acceptance of Jesus Christ as my personal savior and my attempts to align myself with the apparent will of God, I have moved on to an exploration and learning experience of scripture. I am a poet and am compelled to write about my experience and what I've learned. I am hoping that this book is acceptable in the eyes of my God. While many of these poems are influenced by the religious writings of thousands of years past, others are from my own personal inspiration and revelations. I hope you the reader will appreciate at least some of my work. It is the best I have to offer God and the reading public. I hope that both find it pleasing.

Book Living in the Balance of Grace and Faith

Download or read book Living in the Balance of Grace and Faith written by Andrew Wommack and published by Destiny Image Publishers. This book was released on 2011-06-24 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Popular Bible teacher and host of the Gospel Truth broadcast, Andrew Wommack takes on one of the biggest controversies of the church, the freedom of God's grace verses the faith of the believer. Wommack reveals that God's power is not released from only grace or only faith. God's blessings come through a balance of both grace and faith. Addressing many of the misconceptions believers are taught in the Church today, this book opens up the Scriptures revealing the vital connection between grace and faith. Many believers think they walk in both grace and faith when actually they are misusing one or both of these principles. Wommack addresses: * Some believers willingly sin believing Gods grace will cover them, while the blessing of grace is not to sin, but to release guilt and condemnation when they make a mistake. * Other believers think they must "work" their faith by ritualistic prayer, confession, or Bible study. Although all these things are good, Jesus Christ set believers free from works of the law. God wants a relationship where He can communicate directly to each believer. * Grace and faith work together. When believers receive the unmerited favor or grace of God, they can release their faith without doubt or reservation and receive God's blessings. Andrew Wommack in his logical, practical style brings believers back on track in their Christian walk through living in the balance of grace and faith.

Book excerpt: Ron Lavin says that we desperately need to re-examine and return to the basics of the Christian faith -- and what better source of inspiration is there than the word of God and the sacraments, God's holy pipelines from heaven? In the latest installment of his popular Another Look series, Lavin explores God's Word, baptism, and communion, and demonstrates that far from being meaningless rituals, they are extremely relevant for modern living. Weaving together time-tested biblical truths with a series of vignettes about Grace Livingstone, a fictional character who is a typical church "outsider," Lavin illustrates how faithful proclamation of the Word and celebration of the sacraments can be effective tools for evangelism and outreach. The ups and downs of Grace's life, and her need for the Word and sacraments, are sure to resonate with you. Structured in three four-session sets, Saving Grace is an ideal group study resource -- each chapter includes a "digging deeper" section plus stimulating discussion questions, and there are tips to assist small group leaders. Saving Grace is also great for new member or adult Sunday school classes, personal meditation, and sermon preparation. Ron Lavin's passion for the Word of God and zeal to reach humanity with the truth that Jesus is alive is a source of inspiration and hope. Many believers hold the opinion that God has delayed the 2nd coming of Jesus so that every last person has a chance to make the decision for redemption. The premise of this book is to ask the questions; “What if God is waiting for one particular “Last Person” to ask for their redemption? What if that person is a Girl named Grace and is she is the target of Satan’s dark legions? Will she turn to God before Satan can end her life? Will God give up on her and draw history to a close?”

The following Illuminating Selections from the Bible best represent what my heart says. As a grandparent I am at a point in my life where I can look back and see how God has blessed me down through the years. God has richly blessed me and my family and according to His word he will continue to bless us now and forever. I want my life to reflect Christ. I am grateful for the new life I have in Him. I ask Him to fill me with His Spirit each day, so that I might be an effective witness of His love. Thank you Lord for my precious children and grandchildren you have abundantly blessed me with. Make me a blessing in their lives as well as in the lives of everyone with whom I come in contact. I am ever so grateful for the material possessions you've given me, I am most grateful for the treasure of my family-the only blessings I can take to heaven with me. Father, I want to be a person of my word so that my family can follow my example. Thank You for keeping Your promise to us. I take comfort in the fact that Your word will never fail. Throughout my life I have worked hard at reaching my goals. My desire is to continue making progress, especially growing in my Christian life. You are my coach - my trainer and my encourager as I run the race You have for me. As I make choices, help me to accept Your discipline with grace, so that I may not only grow in my Christian life but also be an example to my family and friends. As I interact with my family and Mends may I hold Your word in my heart and reflect Your loving presence. Help me to guide and encourage them with wisdom. Not only have you blessed me with material possessions but also with unique talents that I can share with others. Make me aware of those who need my assistance so that I can share my time in helping or even listening when they need to talk. My treasure and abilities are yours Lord I want to use them to benefit others. Thank you Lord for my heritage. I pray for the members of my family that they will live a life pleasing to You and will continue the Christian heritage. My they consider my life to have been one of faithful service to you. My mirror tells the truth. Looking at my changing feature, may I be reminded of Your changeless love. I pray that You are reflected in my every smile, my every word and every breath. I commit my life to you God. All of the before mentioned blessings are my reasons for writing.
