This book was released on 2020-01-22 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "What is keeping you from falling in love with you?" You may not be able to answer this question just yet, but I challenge you to write it down in your journal, and when it comes to the appointed time . . . You will be able to answer this question and allow God to restore all that was lost so you can begin to love again, and most of all love you just the way you are! The 30-Day Journey to Loving the Woman in Me is a day-by-day process to help you take the steps necessary to be released into loving you in the way that is needed in order to be free, healed, and able to love others all around you past your own understanding. Most of you are thinking, "I do love myself, I love me some me, I am all for me, and I take care of me!" I can go on and on about what you think loving yourself is . . . My question to you now is, "How do you know you truly, genuinely and whole heartedly love you?" Before you answer that question take a look back on your past seasons in life and even some of your current seasons in your life. Step by step and day by day, I with God's guidance will help you get to that place by taking you on a journey of understanding the truth of what it takes to truly and wholeheartedly loving you. You may not want to go to certain places emotionally, but if you really want a change to come, you have to go to some of the most uncomfortable, darkest places and moments that tainted your love for you, and the love that God is offering to you and allow God to shine his light on each wound and each scar so you can be wiped clean and set free to love and be loved for eternity.
Download or read book Diary of a Stalker written by Electa Rome Parks and published by Urban Books. This book was released on 2012-01-01 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electa Rome Parks paints a powerful portrait of a crazed fan who can't seem to close the book on the affair after a one-night-stand with a famous author—and who will stop at nothing to make him hers. Even if that means killing him. . . Bestselling author Xavier Preston is used to women throwing themselves at him. On top of being a successful writer, he's also tall, dark and sexy as sin. He's always relished the attention, in fact, and is ever-willing to entertain the erotic urges of women wanting to get between more than the covers of his novels. Except once he meets Kendall, he decides it's time to put his womanizing ways behind him and devote himself to her entirely. Well, almost. . . Gorgeous Pilar is the last decadent treat Xavier decides he'll help himself to—thinking they are both on the same "no strings" page. Except behind Pilar's fine façade beats the heart of a raving maniac—a fatally attracted fan addicted to the kind of hot loving only Xavier can give her. And she's not about to let him get away from her so easily. So what starts out as a discreet dalliance soon spirals into a deadly game of obsession and pain—which can only have one winner. . .
Download or read book Diary of a Misfit written by Casey Parks and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2023-09-26 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Part memoir, part sweeping journalistic saga: As Casey Parks follows the mystery of a stranger's past, she is forced to reckon with her own sexuality, her fraught Southern identity, her tortured yet loving relationship with her mother, and the complicated role of faith in her life. "Most moving is Parks’s depiction of a queer lineage, her assertion of an ancestry of outcasts, a tapestry of fellow misfits into which the marginalized will always, for better or worse, fit." —The New York Times Book Review When Casey Parks came out as a lesbian in college back in 2002, she assumed her life in the South was over. Her mother shunned her, and her pastor asked God to kill her. But then Parks's grandmother, a stern conservative who grew up picking cotton, pulled her aside and revealed a startling secret. "I grew up across the street from a woman who lived as a man," and then implored Casey to find out what happened to him. Diary of a Misfit is the story of Parks's life-changing journey to unravel the mystery of Roy Hudgins, the small-town country singer from grandmother’s youth, all the while confronting ghosts of her own. For ten years, Parks traveled back to rural Louisiana and knocked on strangers’ doors, dug through nursing home records, and doggedly searched for Roy’s own diaries, trying to uncover what Roy was like as a person—what he felt; what he thought; and how he grappled with his sense of otherness. With an enormous heart and an unstinting sense of vulnerability, Parks writes about finding oneself through someone else’s story, and about forging connections across the gulfs that divide us.

Diary of an Oxygen Thief is an honest, hilarious, and heartrending novel, but above all, a very realistic account of what we do to each other and what we allow to have done to us.

Download or read book Diary of a Lonely Girl or The Battle against Free Love written by Miriam Karpilove and published by Syracuse University Press. This book was released on 2020-01-23 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published serially in the Yiddish daily newspaper di Varhayt in 1916–18, Diary of a Lonely Girl, or The Battle against Free Love is a novel of intimate feelings and scandalous behaviors, shot through with a dark humor. From the perch of a diarist writing in first person about her own love life, Miriam Karpilove’s novel offers a snarky, melodramatic criticism of radical leftist immigrant youth culture in early twentieth-century New York City. Squeezed between men who use their freethinking ideals to pressure her to be sexually available and nosy landladies who require her to maintain her respectability, the narrator expresses frustration at her vulnerable circumstances with wry irreverence. The novel boldly explores issues of consent, body autonomy, women’s empowerment and disempowerment around sexuality, courtship, and politics. Karpilove immigrated to the United States from a small town near Minsk in 1905 and went on to become one of the most prolific and widely published women writers of prose in Yiddish. Kirzane’s skillful translation gives English readers long-overdue access to Karpilove’s original and provocative voice.
Download or read book Notes from a Black Woman s Diary written by Kathleen Collins and published by HarperCollins. This book was released on 2019-02-05 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Relatively unknown during her life, the artist, filmmaker, and writer Kathleen Collins emerged on the literary scene in 2016 with the posthumous publication of the short-story collection Whatever Happened to Interracial Love? Said Zadie Smith, “To be this good and yet to be ignored is shameful, but her rediscovery is a great piece of luck for us.” That rediscovery continues in Notes from a Black Woman’s Diary, which spans genres to reveal the breadth and depth of the late author’s talent. The compilation is anchored by more of Collins’s striking short stories, which explore the ways in which relationships both are formed and come undone. Also collected here is the work Collins wrote for the screen and stage, including the screenplay of her pioneering film Losing Ground and the script for The Brothers, which powerfully illuminate the particular joys, challenges, and heartbreaks rendered by the African American experience. And finally, it is in Collins’s raw and prescient diaries that her nascent ideas about race, gender, marriage, and motherhood first play out on the page. By turns empowering, exuberant, sexy, and poignant, Notes from a Black Woman’s Diary is a brilliant compendium of the works of an inimitable talent, and a rich portrait of a writer hard at work.
Download or read book Scattered Pink written by Honesty Liller and published by . This book was released on 2022-02-22 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During my active addiction, I thought I was going to die and I accepted that. It sounds morbid, but it was where I was in life. I was in love with heroin and the dysfunctional relationship I had with it. Being present in my everyday life was very difficult. Using drugs for the first time at the age of 12, I was just trying to fit in and have fun. Then there was heroin. The crimes I would commit and the hurt I would cause the people I loved never crossed my mind in pursuit of that drug. It didn't matter. I was in love the first time it was in my body. But when I finally stayed in recovery, magic truly happened. The path and journey of my life were changed completely. I am a woman in long-term recovery from drug addiction. What that means for me is that I have been drug and alcohol-free since May 27, 2007. Learning about my soul and truly who I am has been difficult, scary, beautiful, and amazing. Being able to wake up every day and walk in my purpose is priceless. I want the same for you.

Download or read book Difficult Women written by David Plante and published by New York Review of Books. This book was released on 2017-09-26 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: David Plante's dazzling portraits of three influential women in the literary world, now back in print for the first time in decades. Difficult Women presents portraits of three extraordinary, complicated, and, yes, difficult women, while also raising intriguing and, in their own way, difficult questions about the character and motivations of the keenly and often cruelly observant portraitist himself. The book begins with David Plante’s portrait of Jean Rhys in her old age, when the publication of The Wide Sargasso Sea, after years of silence that had made Rhys’s great novels of the 1920s and ’30s as good as unknown, had at last gained genuine recognition for her. Rhys, however, can hardly be said to be enjoying her new fame. A terminal alcoholic, she curses and staggers and rants like King Lear on the heath in the hotel room that she has made her home, while Plante looks impassively on. Sonia Orwell is his second subject, a suave exploiter and hapless victim of her beauty and social prowess, while the unflappable, brilliant, and impossibly opinionated Germaine Greer sails through the final pages, ever ready to set the world, and any erring companion, right.

Book excerpt: A beautiful young lady gains the freshman 15 in college, and over time learns to love her body as she develops into a magnificently voluptuous woman, and finds true love in the process. ~ 'He fondled her and lowered her back down flat on his desk. All of his biological carnal urges took over his better judgement with an unstoppable force of repressed desire and testosterone that was completely unleashed as he licked her nipples and moved his lips slowly down her stomach with Nicole being way too turned on to let self-consciousness deter her pleasure. He removed her snug fitting skimpy panties and slipped himself inside of her. She felt so warm and inviting, it was pure ecstasy. She was such a goddess. The type of woman he had lusted over privately for years. The type of woman whose beauty entitles her to avoid all gym-torture and instead lead a cushy, pampered lifestyle, and let her self indulgence make her more desirable than words could allow, only her moans and gasps of extreme blissful pleasure could do it justice.'
