Read on to find out more of what happens with the Tensome during their third year at Wizard School. Rating G; Reading Level Easy 5th Grade; Longest Word: Classifications Female teenage wizard Leesha Fourthchild is very good at casting spells. But is she too good? Leesha casts a spell which doesn’t just make her disappear. This spell make her cease to exist. This is good because now she won’t ever have to worry about turning into a velociraptor ever again. She won’t have to worry about turning into a dangerous dinosaur who might hurt somebody. As long as she was with her boyfriend Shmedley Thrumbledack, she didn’t have to worry about that because he can turn her back into a human. Speaking of Shmedley, now that Leesha is no more, she’ll never get to hold hands with him again. She’ll never get to kiss him again. And she terribly misses him. How will Leesha be able to exist again? Who can help her? Leesha finds that there is one advantage to not existing. It makes it easier to spy on the underground world and find out what they’re up to. Shmedley is a Spring. A Spring is the opposite of an Offspring. If you’re a Spring you never had parents. This is different from an Orphan, for they once had parents. A Spring is also something that bounces. The Spring is a certain time of year. It opens the door to Summer, to better things. A Spring is a flow of water into a pool. A Spring is a magical being who has all these magical attributes. How can Shmedley use these forms of magic to help him. It’s good that he has some magic, because he doesn’t have a wand. And even though Wizard Math is good for solving problems, it’s not much help when you’re being picked on by bullies.

Book Yellow Bear

Download or read book Yellow Bear written by Dale Stubbart and published by Dale Stubbart. This book was released on with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Yellow Bear was walking in the woods one day. He was deep in the woods where the trees are close to each other, so close there was hardly room to move between them. But Yellow Bear managed. Sometimes he would have to climb over branches, and sometimes he crawled under them. Walking in the deep woods was hard, but Yellow Bear was really enjoying it. Casual strolls, where the trees were not as close to each other, were nice; but walking this obstacle course was also fun. Yellow Bear was drawn in this direction, so he kept walking (and climbing, and crawling). Suddenly, Yellow Bear popped out into an open meadow. This was the place he had been drawn to. A nice meadow full of wildflowers and singing birds. Yellow Bear was about to sit down and relax and enjoy this meadow, taking in all its majestic beauty; when the Wind came to play with him, flipping his ear forward. Come, play with me! it said. Yellow Bear knew the Wind. He knew how nice it was. The Wind brought smells to his nose of honey, berries, and other foods. The Wind told him where other animals were. The Wind could keep him warm, or cool him off. The Wind brought him music as it sang through the leaves of the trees. Yes, the Wind was nice. But, this was the first time the Wind had invited him to play. Yellow Bear loved to play, oh how he loved to play! The Wind had tagged him, so now Yellow Bear ran to tag the Wind. The Wind was elusive, and the first few times, Yellow Bear missed. Yellow Bear would chase the Wind, and just as he was about to tag it, the Wind would disappear. Then the Wind would appear someplace else and Yellow Bear would chase it again. And, again the Wind would disappear just as Yellow Bear was about to tag it. Then Yellow Bear stepped onto the Wind Where he stepped, there was nothing Where he stepped, there was everything Then he knew why the birds sing And the children laugh He knew why water flowed And fire burned And he knew why the Wind called to him and why he longed to answer Rating G; Reading Level Very Easy 4th Grade; Longest Words: Ginoodaawangaa, Disappointment

Book The Night the Stars Went Away

Download or read book The Night the Stars Went Away written by Dale Stubbart and published by Dale Stubbart. This book was released on with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hi, My name is Frank. This is my story. I’m sure there are other bottles in the stream, carrying other stories about what happened. This is what I recall. Some might say, it is my version of the truth. Will we ever know what happened? Some are certain they know, “Preaching it” as it were “from the rooftops”. Some are certain, but keep silent, for fear their truth will come out. Most of the world didn’t live all the way through those cataclysmic events. Most of us who did are content to just write our stories down, place them in bottles and toss those bottles into the stream. Like most, I’m hoping that somebody downstream will find my story. Then perhaps, all the stories will merge. All the pieces will be put together. And at last we’ll finally know what really happened. And of course there will always be those who say that nothing ever happened. That the rest of us just were dreaming or having nightmares. But, I know better. At least I think I do. This is my story of what happened, the night the stars went away. Rating G; Reading Level Easy 6th Grade

As he traced the curve of her elbow with his eyes, he noticed something stenciled there. At this distance he should not have been able to tell that that something was a flower. But he could, so he gave up reasoning for reality. His eye started tracing the lines of the flower. He was only vaguely aware that the flower was drawn on a woman’s elbow some 20 yards away. Suddenly, his laptop got heavier, almost dragging him down. He thought that must have been due to all the data he had recently downloaded. Strange thought. The lines of the flower slowly, but surely, turned into a descending, spiraling staircase. “What an interesting twist”, he thought. And then his mind swirled out of control. Magnifique and Straight-Spear’s daughter is now Dancer, following in her mother’s footsteps. However, she will dance atop Rides-Like-Thunder, while her mother will not. And there’s Ramon and Raul – Magnifique’s boyfriends before she met Straight-Spear. Now they’re buddy-buddy. In the fourth story, Dancer is left all alone. She is old enough to be all alone. All the adults in her life have left, including Rides-Like-Thunder. They’ve all gone to other worlds for various reasons. They will be back, but for she is alone. And it’s enough to make the Author cry (I forgot to mention that the Author is one of the main characters.) She was all alone, so she did what she always did – she danced. Book excerpt: In this part of the Series, The Wizard Without a Wand, we follow the story of a Wand as it searches for its Wizard. For every Wand has a particular Wizard, just as every Wizard has a particular Wand. Indeed, when a Wizard uses a Wand, they become indistinguishable. Just how did this Wand come to be? How did it end up in the Underground City? How does its story interweave with that of Shmedley Thrumbledack who is the Wizard Without a Wand. Rating G; Reading Level Easy 5th Grade; Longest Word: Indistinguishable This Wand’s name is Accoustical Light. I don’t know if every Wand has a name. But why not, if they’re as important as Wizards? Not just any Wand will work for Shmedley Thrumbledack. For he’s not just a Wizard, he’s a magical being. And only a magical being can make a Wand for a magical being? So, who would have made it? Accoustical Light’s story starts 400 years ago with Professor Malkius Wontlemoot, the last Professor of Wandmaking. After Malkius stopped teaching to wander the countryside, Wandmaking was no longer taught in Wizard Schools. This was much to the relief of several students. Instead, Wands were made by guilds. And only apprentices were taught how to make Wands. Accoustical Light and Shmedley Thrumbledack come close to meeting each other, but in the end, it’s only through a strange twist of events, that they wind up together.
