Book Flash Computation and EoS Modelling for Compositional Thermal Simulation of Flow in Porous Media

Download or read book Flash Computation and EoS Modelling for Compositional Thermal Simulation of Flow in Porous Media written by Duncan Paterson and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-02-14 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book investigates a wide range of phase equilibrium modelling and calculation problems for compositional thermal simulation. Further, it provides an effective solution for multiphase isenthalpic flash under the classical framework, and it also presents a new flash calculation framework for multiphase systems, which can handle phase equilibrium and chemical reaction equilibrium simultaneously. The framework is particularly suitable for systems with many phases and reactions. In this book, the author shows how the new framework can be generalised for different flash specifications and different independent variables. Since the flash calculation is at the heart of various types of compositional simulation, the findings presented here will promote the combination of phase equilibrium and chemical equilibrium calculations in future simulators, aiming at improving their robustness and efficiency.

Book Petroleum Fluid Phase Behavior

Download or read book Petroleum Fluid Phase Behavior written by Raj Deo Tewari and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-12-14 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with complex fluid characterization of oil and gas reservoirs, emphasizing the importance of PVT parameters for practical application in reservoir simulation and management. It covers modeling of PVT parameters, QA/QC of PVT data from lab studies, EOS modeling, PVT simulation and compositional grading and variation. It describes generation of data for reservoir engineering calculations in view of limited and unreliable data and techniques like downhole fluid analysis and photophysics of reservoir fluids. It discusses behavior of unconventional reservoirs, particularly for difficult resources like shale gas, shale oil, coalbed methane, reservoirs, heavy and extra heavy oils.

Book Molecular Models for Fluids

Download or read book Molecular Models for Fluids written by Klaus Lucas and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2007-01-22 with total page 407 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the development of modern molecular models for fluids from the interdisciplinary fundamentals of classical and statistical mechanics, of electrodynamics and of quantum mechanics. The concepts and working equations of the various fields are briefly derived and illustrated in the context of understanding the properties of molecular systems. Special emphasis is devoted to the quantum mechanical basis, since this is used throughout in the calculation of the molecular energy of a system. The book is application oriented. It stresses those elements that are essential for practical model development. The fundamentals are then used to derive models for various types of applications. Finally, equation of state models are presented based on quantum chemically based models for the intermolecular potential energy and perturbation theory. The book is suited for graduate courses in chemical and mechanical engineering, physics and chemistry, but may also, by proper selection, be found useful on the undergraduate level.
