Aaron Van Cleave (1710-1780), son of Isabrant Van Cleef and Janneke Vanderbilt, was born in New Jersey?. He was married to Rachel Schenck (b. 1709) in 1734. They both died in North Carolina in 1780. Aaron was the first known to spell his surname Van Cleave instead of Van Cleef. This family lived in Kentucky until the late 1820's. After that many family members migrated to Indiana, Missouri, Iowa, Virginia, Texas, California and elsewhere.
