Research on perspectives of persons with neurocognitive disorders highlights abilities to exress needs and preferences, and the desire to participate in meaningful occupations. Thus, utilizing evidence-based and occupation-focused intervention will enable the occupational therapy profession to remain competent and relevant in today's healthcare environment, where reimbursement is contingent upon quality care. This paper describes the creation of a continuing education workshop with a "toolbox" of evidence-based and occupation-focused interventions accessible for occupational therapy professionals who provide services to people with neurocognitive disorders and their caregivers in a nursing home setting. The American Occupational Therapy Association's Centennial Vision and the recent Vision 2025 will inform the workshop in promoting occupational therapy within the nursing home community. The Occupational Therapy Practice Framework: Domain and Process, third edition, will form the basis of the occupational therapy process described in the workshop.
