As more and more is learned about the brain's ability to change itself when confronted with outside stimuli, new research is being done on how to assist the brain in making up for lost or damaged neurons. Since this project is theoretical, the research done in this study is all literature and knowledge based, collected from scholarly articles and books. Using the process of intuitive inquiry to gather, analyze, and synthesize relevant information, the student researcher shows how art therapy can assist the recovery of damaged neural connections and create new connections in the brain to regain everyday functions after a stroke.
