Download or read book The Power of Spoken and Unspoken Words written by Gil Kaplan and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2015-12-09 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Words are a very powerful force and it's extremely vital that you learn to choose them carefully. How you say something is as important as what you say - maybe even more important. Understanding the power of your words and when to use them effectively helps to minimize regrets and maximize results. Also, just because you can say something doesn't necessarily mean that you should. Understanding the subtle difference between words that help and words that harm can be overshadowed by emotions such as anger, hurt, bitterness and unforgiveness. Therefore, speaking out doesn't always mean it's beneficial. Perhaps most importantly, how you choose to say things is just as important as choosing when to say them - the timing of our words. This can be a real challenge for those of us who tend to speak first, without thinking. I am sure that every one of us has thought, "Why did I just say that?" The lessons in this book are taken from a practical and a biblical standpoint to use wisdom in knowing what to say, how to say it, and when to say nothing at all. We should all weigh our words and think before we speak. Less talking really can equal better listening, thus opening up the door for better communication. Not only with each other, but it's vital for our relationship with the Lord.

Now what? No one tells you how to navigate your first day in a new role. No one tells you how to take ownership, manage expectations, or handle workplace politics. No one tells you how to get promoted. The answers to these professional unknowns lie in the unspoken rules—the certain ways of doing things that managers expect but don't explain and that top performers do but don't realize. The problem is, these rules aren't taught in school. Instead, they get passed down over dinner or from mentor to mentee, making for an unlevel playing field, with the insiders getting ahead and the outsiders stumbling along through trial and error. Until now. In this practical guide, Gorick Ng, a first-generation college student and Harvard career adviser, demystifies the unspoken rules of work. Ng distills the wisdom he has gathered from over five hundred interviews with professionals across industries and job types about the biggest mistakes people make at work. Loaded with frameworks, checklists, and talking points, the book provides concrete strategies you can apply immediately to your own situation and will help you navigate inevitable questions, such as: How do I manage my time in the face of conflicting priorities? How do I build relationships when I’m working remotely? How do I ask for help without looking incompetent or lazy? The Unspoken Rules is the only book you need to perform your best, stand out from your peers, and set yourself up for a fulfilling career.

This unique book is directed to children with Selective Mutism as well as for parents, professionals and teachers to help them understand a child's unspoken words when unable to speak and express themselves. Sophia Blum is Dr. Elisa Shipon-Blum's daughter and wrote this book to help others understand. 'Unspoken Words' begins with a letter to children helping them to know they are not alone and others feel as they do. The book also includes a letter to parents, professionals and teachers reading the book as well with the goal of helping them understand what a child with SM feels like, may be wanting to say, but can't regarding various social settings, such as in public, with guests at home, friends who visit and with teachers/peers at school. The bulk of the book includes well-written and insightful sayings that children may be saying or actions they may be taking and then explains what they really may be meaning. Beautiful illustrations are included throughout to help 'see' what the child may be feeling. Finally, Sophia has written her story, Beneath my Shell, as a way of explaining her feelings while suffering in silence. Sophie's story is detailed, introspective, heartwarming and inspirational as she describes her personal journey to overcome Selective Mutism. Dr Elisa Shipon-Blum has a section called, 'From a Mom's Perspective' where she tells her story of when Sophie was young, Sophie's journey to overcoming Selective Mutism and hence the fuel to Dr. Shipon-Blum's life mission to understand and treat children suffering in silence. ** ALL proceeds for this book will be used towards the education and public awareness of Selective Mutism.

Download or read book The Word written by Adrienne Von Speyr and published by Ignatius Press. This book was released on 2019-02-28 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Von Speyr's book does not lend itself to any classification that I can think of. It is not dogmatic theology; still less is it exegesis…. There is nothing to do but to submit oneself to it; if the reader emerges without having been crushed by it, he will find himself strengthened and exhilarated by a new experience of Christian sensibility. —T.S. Eliot Adrienne von Speyr wrote an acclaimed four-volume series of meditations on Saint John’s Gospel, and this volume presents her reflections on the Prologue (1:1–18). Her insights embrace the whole Christian revelation as well as its acceptance and rejection by men. This work is a spiritual meditation of the highest quality, the fruit of prayer, discernment, and communion with the sacramental life of the Church. It provides rich nourishment for both theological reflection and contemplation.
Download or read book God Realization written by Glen C. Cutlip and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2001-07-24 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever wondered how it might be that God is to walk with the people of God? Have you really contemplated how that God is the all in all, in you all? Have you ever wondered how God can manifest Itself in an infinite number of places at the same time? Just as the peace of God passeth all understanding, and the love of Christ passeth knowledge, the realization of God passeth the understanding and the knowledge of the dual mind. Accordingly, the understanding and the knowledge of the dual mind must cease, as it were, before the realization of God can manifest itself as it is, not just as it might appear to be. That is, the part, as it were, must be done away in order for the whole to manifest itself The realization of God is the outcome of realizing the Christ Consciousness that dwells at the Core of all being; for we know that at the appearing of the Lord, we shall like unto the Lord, for we shall see the Lord as is, not just as the Lord might appear to be. We can now see how that the Christ dwells within all, whether it is realized or not, for to realize the Christ that dwells at the Core of all being is to realize that it has always been there. Therefore, the realization of God is the realization that God has been, is, and shall forever be right where you are, the all in all, in you all. Thus, God is ever walking with the people of God. It is a matter of realizing how that might be. Now is the time for that realization.
