This pamphlet, as most of our readers know, was reviewed at some length in the Panoplist for June last. The review induced Mr. Channing to write his Letter to Mr. Thacher, and occasion ed, more or less directly, the publication of all the pamphlets, whose title-pages are copied, at the head of this article. Several other pamphlets owed their existence to the same cause; but we do not learn, that any importance has been attached to them. As many of our present subscribers were not subscribers to the last volume, we propose to give a brief recapitulation of the review here referred to, and then to enter upon the consideration of the publications before us. W e are persuaded, indeed, that such a re capitulation will be useful to all, who wish to retain the prominent points of the controversy distinctly in their minds. Let us turn, then, to the review.
