Book The Pillars of Christian Character

Download or read book The Pillars of Christian Character written by John MacArthur and published by Crossway. This book was released on 1998-05-13 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "To love [God] with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." –Jesus' words in Mark 12:33 Without question the crucial issue in living the Christian life is the condition of your heart. Actions may be temporarily deceiving, but ultimately our outward behavior will reflect what's inside, because our internal attitudes form who we really are. Those inner attitudes are also what God deems most important. In this book one of Christianity's most respected Bible teachers and pastors examines the foundational attitudes, or "pillars," of Christian character as outlined in God's Word. Pillars such as genuine faith, obedience, humility, selfless love, forgiveness, self-discipline, gratitude, and worship. To some degree each trait, on its own, marks a person as one of God's own and reveals an active, living faith. Each is an essential element of mature Christianity. But there is transforming power when you combine them in your everyday living as God commands. Your character will be grounded in godliness; you will see things from an eternal perspective; and your faith, your actions, your witness to others will be revitalized from the inside out.

Book Seven Pillars of Christianity

Download or read book Seven Pillars of Christianity written by Dr. William Ekane and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2011-09-21 with total page 373 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The revelations contained in the Bible serve as a supreme guide by which to measure all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions—and today’s Christians are in steady moral and spiritual decline. A 2010 survey by the Barna Research Group reveals that in American churches, Christians have become less knowledgeable about the Bible, less interested in spiritual disciplines, and more desirous of secular techniques to solve life’s problems, thus blurring the distinction between their conduct and that of nonbelievers. In Seven Pillars of Christianity: An Introduction to the Essential Christian Doctrines, Dr. William Ekane reveals the life-transforming foundations of the Christian faith and issues a clarion call for Christians to return to authentic Christianity. First presenting his compelling case for the scientific reliability and divine origin of the Bible, Dr. Ekane works closely with Scripture as he leads us through everything from the Lord Jesus Christ to trust and faith in the living God to, finally, the five major judgments and Revelation. These practical, strategic insights and essential truths are invaluable to new converts as well as mature believers. The Word of the Holy Spirit offers transformation, illuminating our hearts and minds as we strengthen our spiritual foundation and grow deeper in God.

Book The Four Pillars of Christianity

Download or read book The Four Pillars of Christianity written by Wade Smith, and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Incorporated. This book was released on 2019-04-15 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christianity is based upon claims that are nothing short of remarkable. So what exactly is Christianity? It stands on these four pillars: 1. We claim there is a God. 2. We assert that God came to earth as man, lived a sinless and blameless life, and willingly sacrificed himself as a solution to sin and a means to reconcile man with God. 3. We also claim that the crucifixion of this man was not the end of the story. Indeed, it was just the start of a truly remarkable third claim that the crucified man was brought back to life after being most decidedly dead. 4. Finally, we declare that because the first three claims are true, we have a means to understand and respond to suffering and pain that transcends whatever circumstances we may find ourselves in. Each claim is an indispensable part of Christianity. We owe a reasoned answer to the skeptic who is asking with good reason why anyone might believe such incredible claims. Also, since God left the church to spread his story, we owe it to God to tell his story accurately. To God be the glory.

Book The Twelve Pillars of Unbelief

Download or read book The Twelve Pillars of Unbelief written by Douglas Olsen and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2023-02-22 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Twelve Pillars of Unbelief: Why the Arguments for Atheism Don't Work and Why the Ones for Christianity Do. By: Douglas Olsen About the Book This book summarizes the reasons atheism is logically faulty from a Christian perspective. The author incorporates his own examples, insights, and humor. According to the author we are living in an increasingly secular society, and there have been best-selling books by the so-called New Atheists, which need to be put in their place with a fresh approach to the beliefs of Christianity. This book is different from other books attacking atheism in the inclusion of a chapter on heaven and hell with an nontraditional but Biblical view of hell and a section on evolution, Intelligent Design, and creationism. I hope the reader, who is more likely to be Christian rather than atheist, will be armed with arguments against atheism as well as thoughtful ideas about Christianity. Maybe some agnostics or seekers will find truth in it.

Book Twelve Foundation Stones of the Scriptures

Download or read book Twelve Foundation Stones of the Scriptures written by Elmer Mulhausen and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-09 with total page 261 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I recommend this very readable, entertaining presentation of the Christian faith by Elmer Mulhausen. I like the way poems are used to present biblical truth in a simple, direct and balanced way. I like the fact that the book isn’t long and laborious. The book has something for everyone along the theological spectrum from scholars to new comers, from conservative to liberals and especially that broad majority in between. Dr. Charles T. Rice North Texas Association Minister United Church of Christ This book is a valuable resource for all lay Christians, especially still maturing believers and those contemplatingbecoming a believer. The Bible is a large and complex text of history, teachings and truths. It is diffi cult for even mature Christians to comprehend let alone new converts or those seeking information to make a decision. Elmer simplifies the scriptures in an easy to read, understandable and amazingly short book. He provides an overview of the bible and the pillars of Christian faith that usually take years of personal and church lead Bible study to comprehend. Download or read book God s Magnificent Eight written by Dr. Ernan Norman and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2021-01-27 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “AND SAMPSON SAID TO THE YOUNG MAN WHO HELD HIM BY THE HAND, ‘LET ME FEEL THE PILLARS ON WHICH THE HOUSE RESTS, THAT I MAY LEAN AGAINST THEM’” (Judges 16:26, ESV) Mark Finely has rightly said that there are “seven basic teachings” on which God has built His church. “Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars.” These seven pillars are essential, and “the non-negotiables:” Scripture (John 17:17) Salvation (John 3:16) Second Coming (John 14:1-3) Sabbath (John 14:15) State of the Dead (John 11:11-26) Sanctuary (John 17:4, 11, 24) Holy Spirit and Spirit of Prophecy (John 14:15-17) (Prov. 9:1; Mark Finely, Solid Ground, p. 374) “The house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” is built on these seven pillars, 1 Tim. 3:15. Because of this, Dr. Norman identifies the church as an eight pillar. This eight pillar rests on the other seven “non-negotiables.” These “non-negotiables” are in turn rooted and grounded in Christ, and they define who we are as a biblical community of faith. Tragically though, great uncertainty concerning the pillars abound. The “non-negotiables” are under assault. And this assault will intensify as a mighty sifting sieve. “Those who seek to remove the old landmarks . . . bring in theories that would remove the pillars of our faith concerning the sanctuary . . . [they are] working as blind men . . . [they are] seeking to bring in uncertainties and to set the people of God adrift without an anchor,” (E. G. White, Manuscript Release No. 760. P. 9, 1905). If there ever was a time, we needed the resolve of Sampson, it is now! The author hopes that this book will inspire this resolve—a resolve that will lead us back to the pillars; back to the “non-negotiables.” Like Sampson, may we feel the pillars once again, and lean on “the non-negotiables” centered in Christ.
