Book The New Allergy Solution

Download or read book The New Allergy Solution written by Dr. Clifford Bassett and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2017-03-21 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of America’s top allergy doctors offers a revolutionary, full-body approach to diagnosing, preventing, and treating allergies—in many cases, for good. Millions of Americans currently suffer from allergies, and the rate is growing. Climate change, globalization, air pollution, and oversanitization of the environment in the early years of life are just a few of the causes that, taken together, have introduced new allergens into our environment that are wreaking havoc and causing needless suffering. This “new allergen marketplace” requires a new allergy solution. According to Dr. Clifford W. Bassett, traditional remedies focus on treating symptoms but leave allergy sufferers vulnerable to continued bouts of misery. Dr. Bassett argues that when we consider a person’s genetics, environment, and overall health, we can more effectively identify—and take appropriate action to forestall—symptoms before they even begin. For the first time, Dr. Bassett presents the unique, integrative approach he’s used in his Manhattan offices for two decades to vanquish allergy symptoms for countless individuals. In addition to explaining what allergy is (and isn’t) and identifying key triggers—from nuts to gluten to the nickel commonly used in cell phones—Dr. Bassett offers both medical and nonmedical alternatives to treatment, and specific, proactive steps to protect against common allergens. Allergens are here to stay, but with The New Allergy Solution, your life need no longer be ruled and ruined by allergy. The New Allergy Solution strives to enhance your well-being through strategies for a greater sense of control, giving you more freedom to do what you love.

Book excerpt: Robyn O’Brien is not the most likely candidate for an antiestablishment crusade. A Houston native from a conservative family, this MBA and married mother of four was not someone who gave much thought to misguided government agencies and chemicals in our food—until the day her youngest daughter had a violent allergic reaction to eggs, and everything changed. The Unhealthy Truth is both the story of how one brave woman chose to take on the system and a call to action that shows how each of us can do our part and keep our own families safe. O’Brien turns to accredited research conducted in Europe that confirms the toxicity of America’s food supply, and traces the relationship between Big Food and Big Money that has ensured that the United States is one of the only developed countries in the world to allow hidden toxins in our food—toxins that can be blamed for the alarming recent increases in allergies, ADHD, cancer, and asthma among our children. Featuring recipes and an action plan for weaning your family off dangerous chemicals one step at a time The Unhealthy Truth is a must-read for every parent—and for every concerned citizen—in America today.

  • Release : 2020-02-20
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 150 pages

Download or read book The Truth about Allergy written by Angel Burns and published by . This book was released on 2020-02-20 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Allergies and a number of food intolerances are affecting many individuals around the world and are the cause of many health-related issues. People will often have rather unpleasant reactions to some food they ate and question whether it is only an upset stomach or a food allergy. The interesting part is that one out of every three people will claim that they themselves have a food allergy or that they changed their family diet because another family member might have a food allergy. Research has shown that only about 5% of children have been truly diagnosed with a food allergy while only 4% of teen and adults have a certain food allergy. In order to understand what a food allergy actually is, it is vital to separate the terms 'food allergy' and 'food intolerance.' We describe a food allergy as a hypersensitivity to food; an abnormal response to a certain food group or ingredient that is triggered by a person's immunity system. A food intolerance causes the same reactions of a food allergy, but not from the immune system. Instead, the reactions come from the body not being able to properly digest the food. For example, if someone has a reaction to milk but they are not allergic to the lactose, they have a lactose intolerance. Some of these intolerances can be psychological in origin, but still produce a physiological effect. While it can be proven scientifically that someone has a food allergy, they are also able to trick themselves into thinking that they have one. If a person gets a headache each time they eat wheat, then they may think that they are allergic to the entire food rather than having a reaction to the density or ratio of wheat in the food. Psychological impacts for food allergies can also come from normal anxiety. Forgetting that a friend or child is allergic to a certain food and then serving it to them. The idea of being able to put someone in harm because of the development of a food allergy can be troubling for a parent or relative. This book is broken into different sections that include: - An introduction to allergy - Symptoms associated to allergic reactions - How to avoid trigger foods - The wonderful breakfast recipes - Main courses and side dishes - Delicious desserts and snacks Take precautions as early as now to avoid the adverse effects of any food allergy. Purchase a copy of this book and experiment with the various recipes within. Enjoy the journey!!

Book The Peanut Allergy Epidemic

Download or read book The Peanut Allergy Epidemic written by Heather Fraser and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2015-08-18 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Essential Reading for Every Parent In the early 1990s, tens of thousands of children with severe peanut and food allergies arrived for kindergarten at schools in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States. The phenomenon of a life-threatening allergy in kids in only these countries occurred simultaneously, without warning, and it quickly intensified. The number of peanut allergic children in the United States alone went from virtually none to about two million in just twenty years. As these children have aged, the combined number of American adults and children allergic to peanuts has grown to a total of four million. How and why has this epidemic occurred? In The Peanut Allergy Epidemic, Heather Fraser explains: Precisely when the peanut allergy epidemic began How a child-specific allergy epidemic happened before, at the close of the nineteenth century That in the early twentieth century doctors including the 1913 Nobel Prize in medicine winner identified vaccination as the cause of the first pediatric allergy epidemic impacting 50 percent of children That more than one hundred years of medical literature describes how vaccination creates allergy to what is in the shot, air, or body at the time of injection How changes in US vaccination legislation sparked the allergy epidemic in children Fraser also highlights alternative medicines and explores issues of vaccine safety and other food allergies, making this fully updated second edition a must-read for every parent, teacher, and health professional.
