Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hope for the Flowers: A must read during this time of the corona virus and civil unrest in 2020. Caterpillars, Butterflies, Life & a real Hope Revolution THE WORLD HAS BEEN COCOONING; LET US EMERGE WITH HOPE. We have all lived through months of strange relationships with ourselves and the world around us. Virtual gatherings have become the norm, while the pain, uncertainty and injustice goes on. What will our new normal possibly become? What new work? How can we do our part to heal the world from whatever limited space we have? How can our United States truly be one nation under God with liberty and JUSTICE FOR ALL? “What might I do to help others during this global crisis? Is likely still your question as well as still mine. I will continue to offer my e-book for $2.99 with my hope that it can strengthen hope and courage in each of you and your children. We will need all we can get! If inspired, please join our Facebook group - Hope (For the Flowers) Revolution. Maybe we can inspire each other to build the better world that's possible. My hope for us is that, like our caterpillar heroes, Stripe and Yellow, we transform in the darkness of the cocoon to something new and totally unexpected. May we each find a way to use this time of darkness to light the way to justice and peace in the world. May we discover our own new beauty as we discover the beauty in our differences. May we each discover our purpose and live with passion this thing called life, while we still can. “How does one become a butterfly” Yellow asks pensively. “You must want to fly so much That you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” I can't think of anything more transformational and radical than the change that happens when a lowly caterpillar worm becomes a flying beautiful butterfly. And it doesn't end with flying! They find their true purpose, to carry the pollen of love from one flower to another and receive in return the sweet nectar that keeps them alive. What wondrous exchange! Sharing is the answer to so much! I'm so grateful the story seems to reach every culture, and over 3 million have loved and shared the paper version in English and countless more in other languages for 50 years. May each of us and the world flourish after this strange dark cocoon of isolation.

More Information Since her death in 1906, Elizabeth of the Trinity—Elizabeth Catez of Dijon, France—has drawn countless men and women to a deeper relationship with God through her laser-sharp focus on the mystery of the divine indwelling in the human person. In our frenetic, fast-paced and constantly wired world, the message of this young Carmelite nun is more relevant than ever. She shares with us her “secret”: not only that God loves us, but loves us to the point of making the center of our being “another heaven”—the place where God dwells, always present, always accessible and longing for intimate relationship with us. • Pages : 272 pages

Download or read book Beautiful at All Seasons written by Elizabeth Lawrence and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2007-02-28 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Elizabeth Lawrence (1904–85) is recognized as one of America’s most important gardeners and garden writers. In 1957, Lawrence began a weekly column for the Charlotte Observer, blending gardening lore and horticultural expertise gained from her own gardens in Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina, and from her many gardener friends. This book presents 132 of her beloved columns. Never before published in book form, they were chosen from the more than 700 pieces that she wrote for the Observer over fourteen years. Lawrence exchanged plants and gardening tips with everyone from southern “farm ladies” trading bulbs in garden bulletins to prominent regional gardeners. She corresponded with nursery owners, everyday backyard gardeners, and literary luminaries such as Katharine White and Eudora Welty. Her books, including A Southern Garden, The Little Bulbs, and Gardens in Winter, inspired several generations of gardeners in the South and beyond. The columns in this volume cover specific plants, such as sweet peas, hellebores, peonies, and the bamboo growing outside her living-room window, as well as broader topics including the usefulness of vines, the importance of daily pruning, and organic gardening. Like all of Lawrence’s writing, these columns are peppered with references to conversations with neighbors and quotations from poetry, mythology, and correspondence. They brim with knowledge gained from a lifetime of experimenting in her gardens, from her visits to other gardens, and from her extensive reading. Lawrence once wrote, “Dirty fingernails are not the only requirement for growing plants. One must be as willing to study as to dig, for a knowledge of plants is acquired as much from books as from experience.” As inspiring today as when they first appeared in the Charlotte Observer, the columns collected in Beautiful at All Seasons showcase not only Lawrence’s vast knowledge but also her intimate, conversational writing style and her lifelong celebration of gardens and gardening.

Book The Complete Works of Elizabeth of the Trinity vol 2

Download or read book The Complete Works of Elizabeth of the Trinity vol 2 written by Elizabeth of the Trinity (Catez) and published by ICS Publications. This book was released on 2014-04-14 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity (Elizabeth Catez) is a mystic of our times, who entered Carmel in 1901 at the age of twenty-one, and died there five years later. Her biblical spirituality, based on the epistles of her "dear Saint Paul" and the mystery of the divine indwelling, has inspired countless Christians. This second of three volumes of her Complete Works contains all of Elizabeth's surviving letters from Carmel, along with 8 photos. In simple and tender language, writing to friends and family, Elizabeth returns again and again to the great themes of her spirituality: the indwelling Trinity, silence and solitude, living by love, becoming a "praise of glory" (laudem gloriae) by sharing in the dying and rising of Jesus Christ. Here too we find many of her best-known sayings, e.g., "I have found my heaven on earth, for heaven is God, and God is in my soul." In his introductions and careful notes, Father Conrad De Meester, O.C.D., explains the background of each of Elizabeth's letters from Carmel, most of which have never before appeared in English. Anne Englund Nash continues the style set in the first volume of the Complete Works, presenting a translation that reflects both the literary nuances and spirit of the original French texts.

Book The Truth Collector

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ronald J. Yadusky, BS, MD, FACS
  • Publisher : AuthorHouse
  • Release : 2009-08-21
  • ISBN : 1452034575
  • Pages : 290 pages

Download or read book The Truth Collector written by Ronald J. Yadusky, BS, MD, FACS and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2009-08-21 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The basic content of this book is transformation, which has taken me a lifetime to learn. There is more to life than just joy or sorrow, health or sickness, consolation or desolation, because, as I have found, there is also a higher level of thinking and living called transformation. What I've learned all my life about love may help you to learn about it sooner, rather than later. Such early learning is always to your benefit, because, as an old German expression points out: "We grow old too soon and smart too late." Since love is not love until it is given away, my love has compelled me to write this book. In reading it, as a bare minimum, you will be spiritually refreshed, but I truly believe that you too will be transformed. Each of us has a mind that seeks truth, a heart that seeks love, and a spirit that seeks goodness and God. If you were to categorize this book, you would have to say that it is in a category all its own, because it's primarily transformational in addition to being inspirational, autobiographical, motivational, instructional, philosophical, spiritual and explorational. It explores the truth that life is not measured in moments of time, but in timeless moments. And we know that truth exists, otherwise we would never be able to ask any questions. It also explores love as the loudest sound on the other side of silence. Love, not violence, is at the heart of the universe, and we should not let violence determine our future, but only let love do that. It also explores goodness in that it is unreasonable to think that a person who can be good would be put into a crazy, empty world in which there is no such thing as goodness.
