On the other hand the discovery of the remains of Queen Anne Boleyn, and of the other victims of the block, is an episode of which the interest can never die. Pregnant with pathos, the story is one which should be recorded. I have added it to a portion of a general, perhaps rather dryasdust, article on the Tower, which I wrote in 1882 at the request of the late Sir James Knowles. The character of Leonardo da Vinci was like a precious stone with many facets. That most of these should remain dark to the multitude is no matter of surprise.
