Download or read book Satan in Top Hat written by Tibor Koeves and published by Pickle Partners Publishing. This book was released on 2018-02-27 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in 1941, this is a biography of the former German Chancellor, former head of the German spy network in America, and one of Adolf Hitler’s highest officials, Franz von Papen (1879-1969). “In this volume the reader will not find a single love letter, nor an abundance of intimate details about strictly personal incidents. “Fortunately enough, in Franz von Papen’s case the lack of confidential gossip doesn’t obscure the understanding of the human figure. As it will be seen, he is the par excellence political man who has found a complete self-expression in the practice of diplomacy and politics. It would be vain to try to grasp the full nature of Julius Caesar without knowing what pleasure and vice, what the senses meant to him. Many smaller but important historic figures would never yield the secret of their personalities but for the information we possess about their greed for gold or women, about their appetites. “Ever since his early manhood, Franz von Papen has hungered for one exclusive object: power. The latter being the very essence of politics, this book is a political biography. It studies the awakening of an individual to the call of power, and the course of his strenuous and tortuous struggle for it on domestic as well as foreign forums. Also, since Franz von Papen’s career has transcended national barriers, the story of his life is indissolubly tied to that other, a collective manifestation of the will to power, whose aim is the domination of the world by a nation.”

Happythought mini paper top hats - a brief history: When I first set my heart on wearing a mini top hat I had a few hurdles to overcome! Firstly, the party was that day, secondly a quick trip to the local shops turned up nothing satisfactory, thirdly, I'm not a big one for sewing and didn't have the know-how or supplies to make a fabric hat. Then the idea struck to make a paper top hat. I made up a quick maquette, then got to work on the design on my computer, finally printing out my little burlesque creation. A few snips and the wave of a glue stick and a darling little hat was ready. I secured it safely to my head with a bobby pin and was good to go. When my fellow party goers saw my handy work I was swiftly commissioned to make two more. And so we set off to the party feeling dandy and in high spirits and it's safe to say the hats were a big hit at the party. ...................................................................... About the Author Along with her husband Harry Ellen runs Happythought, an online store and blog full of craft ideas and fun printable paper crafts. Book Statistics Without Tears

Download or read book Statistics Without Tears written by Stanley I. Buchin and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2014-08-14 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Through his years of teaching hospitality and tourism management and working with many of the country's leading consumer product and service firms, Professor Stanley I. Buchin understands the importance of using the right methods to discern meaningful information out of numbers. In Statistics Without Tears: Quantitative Analysis and Forecasting in Hospitality and Tourism, he presents a different approach to statistical analysis that avoids the headaches of math-intensive techniques in favor of graphics and computer programs, while still maintaining a rigorous approach to the analysis. The textbook launches into descriptive statistics by asking the question, are we measuring the right things? He examines what data is currently available to hospitality managers about their operations and what this data means (STAR reports). But one can begin to steer away from all that by displaying measurements with visual graphics such as pie charts and bar graphs, which are easier for most people to comprehend than mind-numbing lists of numbers. And there is a better way of summarizing measurements, too: Why not take advantage of computer software like Excel to make sense out of the standard data descriptors: mean, median, mode, variance, and standard deviation? With these tools in hand, the book tackles techniques for sales forecasting such as time-series analysis, correlation analysis, and exponential smoothing, as well as for cost forecasting, particularly by looking at regression analysis to estimate costs at different levels of business activity. New directions in forecasting are also introduced, including exponentially weighted regression, the professor's own personally developed technique. Drawing from his extensive academic and professional background, Professor Buchin's approach to teaching statistics analysis in Statistics Without Tears is bound to become standard text for courses in quantitative methods in all the best hospitality administration programs. Also available is an online Instructors Manual, which contains the following information: suggested course syllabus, PowerPoint slides outlining each chapter, answers to the problems at the end of each chapter, four sets of review problems and answers to these review problems, three suggested quizzes and a final examination, including answers to the quiz and final examination problems. Instructors who wish to get a copy of the Instructors Manual should contact the author at [email protected].
