Book The Harlot and the Beast

Download or read book The Harlot and the Beast written by Larry Sparks and published by The Harlot and the Beast. This book was released on 2005-07 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Harlot and the Beast is the embodiment of Adam and Eve and the fabled Garden of Eden -- solving the final mystery of God foretold by St. John of Revelation (Rev. 10:7). Harlots are about individuals, institutions, and governments positioned to benefit Mankind, but instead, exploit and strip everyone of their innocence. The harlot receives her power from the beast that is the rule of law, ordinances, and traditions. Society is St. John's "Mystery Babylon" that gives birth to the harlots (Rev. 17:5). Six, Six, Six is characterized as the unholy trinity of Man -- psychological, social, and political, further symbolizing the harlot and the beast. The new-world order of 1989 began the relentless march towards a one-world government. The new-world order proves to be the reunification of Adam, Eve, the Serpent, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the Tree of Life that forms unholy, nationalist trade alliances. For forty years, the unholy unification evolves into a seven-year apocalypse, ending the 2,000-year grace period after Christ's death. The life, death, and resurrection of Christ provide the clues for what all of Mankind has to do to overcome his nemesis, 6,6,6, during apocalypse to receive immortality or face eternal death.

Book The Beast and the Sovereign Volume I

Download or read book The Beast and the Sovereign Volume I written by Jacques Derrida and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2010-12-15 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When he died in 2004, Jacques Derrida left behind a vast legacy of unpublished material, much of it in the form of written lectures. With The Beast and the Sovereign, Volume 1, the University of Chicago Press inaugurates an ambitious series, edited by Geoffrey Bennington and Peggy Kamuf, translating these important works into English. The Beast and the Sovereign, Volume 1 launches the series with Derrida’s exploration of the persistent association of bestiality or animality with sovereignty. In this seminar from 2001–2002, Derrida continues his deconstruction of the traditional determinations of the human. The beast and the sovereign are connected, he contends, because neither animals nor kings are subject to the law—the sovereign stands above it, while the beast falls outside the law from below. He then traces this association through an astonishing array of texts, including La Fontaine’s fable “The Wolf and the Lamb,” Hobbes’s biblical sea monster in Leviathan, D. H. Lawrence’s poem “Snake,” Machiavelli’s Prince with its elaborate comparison of princes and foxes, a historical account of Louis XIV attending an elephant autopsy, and Rousseau’s evocation of werewolves in The Social Contract. Deleuze, Lacan, and Agamben also come into critical play as Derrida focuses in on questions of force, right, justice, and philosophical interpretations of the limits between man and animal.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An unflinching shapeshifter, Beast at Every Threshold dances between familial hauntings and cultural histories, intimate hungers and broader griefs. Memories become malleable, pop culture provides a backdrop to glittery queer love, and folklore speaks back as a radical tool of survival. With unapologetic precision, Natalie Wee unravels constructs of “otherness” and names language our most familiar weapon, illuminating the intersections of queerness, diaspora, and loss with obsessive, inexhaustible ferocity—and in resurrecting the self rendered a site of violence, makes visible the “Beast at Every Threshold.” Beguiling and deeply imagined, Wee’s poems explore thresholds of marginality, queerness, immigration, nationhood, and reinvention of the self through myth.
