This book was released on 2017-10-12 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Repertory to the Symptoms of Intermittent Fever The treatment of intermittent fever is a subject in which I have long been interested and to which I have given much attention, and for two reasons because I have had many cases under my professional care during the past thirteen years and since it has so often been asserted by physicians and laymen that homoeopathic treatment is totally unable to suppress the paroxysms, to remove the pathological conditions and symptoms incident to them - to cure. It may be asserted with absolute certainty, that these things can be done without any exception, and that to suc oecd, it is only necessary to administer a remedy of proper potency selected in accordance with the law of similia, having in its choice a regard for the totality of s mptoms. T e selection of the drug is often a very easy thing to accomplish, especially so if, as is often the case, we find cases of a season like each other even in detail. Under these circumstances, the careful consideration of a few cases serves to good and lasting purpose. Sometimes, however, the choice of the remedy de mands more labor. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Intermittent Fever After this period of remission, which may vary greatly in its duration in difi'erent cases, the paroxysm repeats itself, and the process is fully set up in the organism which results in a series of these which return at regular or irregular intervals, with little tendency in the disease to find its limitation in length of time, or in any number of repetitions of the paroxysms. There is little tendency to self-exhaustion of its power in the cause of these repeated phenomena. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Download or read book Text Book of the Eruptive and Continued Fevers Classic Reprint written by John W. Moore and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2019-02-14 with total page 600 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Text-Book of the Eruptive and Continued Fevers IT may be desirable to state very briefly the circumstances under which this work has come to see the light. To write a Text-book on Fever while the splendid mono graph of Charles Murchison is our possession to all time may well be deemed presumptuous. But, on the threshold, I would disclaim any intention of allowing the present work hoc parvum opusculum - to enter the lists with that unrivalled masterpiece. However, even since Dr. William Cayley, in 1884, edited, with excellent good taste and literary skill, the posthumous edition of Murchison's Treatise, the study of the Continued F evers has received a great impetus, and the necessity of a sound knowledge of Fever by every practitioner of medicine has been more and more recognised. Book excerpt: Excerpt from An Essay on the Remittent and Intermittent Diseases, Vol. 1 As long ago as the period Of my college studies, my attention had been excited by what has been called the Tic douloureux and, even then, I came to the conclusion which every succes sive year has confirmed, that it was intimately connected with intermittent fever, both in its nature and causes 3 while it therefore became an Obvious conclusion that its remedies should be sought among those by which that disease is cured.
