Book excerpt: Leevi Mielonen, a single middle-aged statistician from Finland, has a soft spot for caramel bear claws and lives a simple life. He is also in possession of an extraordinary ability that he knows nothing about, until he is contacted by the Astral Level Troops, the secret global organization in charge of keeping world peace behind the scenes. Leevi is suddenly drawn into a world that is more vast, dazzling, and cosmically linked than he ever could have believed. The fate of civilization itself relies on teleporters, rare individuals with transcendent and telepathic gifts. Leevi soon realizes that he himself is not only one of them, but unusually gifted in the astral arts. From murderous autocrats and psychic spies to wandering ghosts and Mayan rain-gods, this story is full of wild characters in even wilder situations . The stakes are as high as they can be in this speculative fiction novel. The Teleporter is the debut novel from Finnish plumbing entrepreneur Jari Enckell. It is a quick-paced farce with pressing themes, spectacular plot twists, and dry hilarity — all based on real events and places, and on the psychedelic mysteries of consciousness and the cosmos. The book is translated into English by bilingual author and poet Kasper Salonen.

Download or read book The Teleportation Accident written by Ned Beauman and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2013-02-26 with total page 398 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Long-listed for the 2012 Man Booker Prize, The Teleportation Accident is a hilarious sci-fi noir about sex, Satan, and teleportation devices. When you haven't had sex in a long time, it feels like the worst thing that could ever happen. If you're living in Germany in the 1930s, it probably isn't. But that's no consolation to Egon Loeser, whose carnal misfortunes will push him from the experimental theaters of Berlin to the absinthe bars of Paris to the physics laboratories of Los Angeles, trying all the while to solve two mysteries: Was it really a deal with Satan that claimed the life of his hero, Renaissance set designer Adriano Lavicini, creator of the so-called Teleportation Device? And why is it that a handsome, clever, modest guy like him can't-just once in a while-get himself laid? Ned Bauman has crafted a stunningly inventive, exceptionally funny, dangerously unsteady and (largely) coherent novel about sex, violence, space, time, and how the best way to deal with history is to ignore it.

Book THE UNITY IN THE UNIVERSE

Download or read book THE UNITY IN THE UNIVERSE written by Vassil Manev and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2014-05-22 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I was advised to start this book with where I studied and who my teachers where. I'm not going to do that. I am an ordinary person with unordinary thoughts. My autobiography consists of what I've done, mainly discoveries combined with theory. This is what you are holding in your hands now, and the incredible applications that follow from them. f or many people where they studied and who taught them it is important, but f or me it does not matter. Pierre Fermat was educated as a lawyer. In his spare time he was engaged in mathematics and left to mankind a number of mathematical discoveries. Evariste Galois did not even finish high school and was left without a degree because he could not take the Matura exam in mathematics. However, he left humanity almost all modern mathematics. Thomas Edison was almost illiterate, but this did not prevent him from becoming one of the most prolific inventors in his time. At the same time, tens of thousands of scientists work in institutes, leaving piles of books to mankind without any discoveries in them. In their scientific works there are only findings. Most of them are convinced that they do not make any discoveries because everything is already discovered. the truth is quite different. What we know is limited, but what we do not know has NO boundaries. I wrote this book because some omnipotence forced me to do this. My research showed that there are amazing events that are associated with rapid technological and spiritual development and change in the structure of human society. All this will be accompanied by natural cataclysms. Therefore, some biblical texts are misunderstood and misinterpreted. Under these conditions it is impossible to stay calm. Don't let the mathematical formulas scare you. You can do without them. Read on and you will understand, because it is a theory of reality.
