Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to Dundee. A modern city at first glance, but with an illustrious past that's not always easy to see. Decades of regeneration, and sometimes dubious progress, have seen to that. But if you look a little closer, dig a little deeper, you will find a hidden city alive with history. Undiscovered Dundee uncovers the city's lost inheritance, its forgotten disasters and forsaken landmarks, the heroes and villains that time has erased, the citizens who stayed and made a difference to their city and those who left and made an impact on the world beyond. Sometimes the story ventures far from Dundee and sometimes it tells what happened when everyone from writers to royalty, from presidents to pop stars, came to visit. Dundee and its people, past and present, bind the tales together and reveal a city still waiting to be discovered.

Her roommate goes missing, and Victoria’s family is convinced she is in danger. Alone and somewhat irritated by the FBI’s forced protection, she throws herself into her passion, photography. Her photography studio is housed in an historic building. While she is there one afternoon, she is led to a room that does not appear to have been touched in 100 years. She finds an old hand tinted Ambrotype of a soldier buried in a stack of paintings. As she is staring at his face, her world begins to spin. Quincy Butler is trapped in a hell he could never have imagined. Fighting yet another battle in The War Between the States, he is shocked to encounter a woman on the field. When she begins to speak to him, he realizes she is southern, and assumes she is the enemy. His intention to apprehend and take her to his superiors is cut short however, when he is shot and wounded. As Victoria tends to Quincy’s injuries, will she be able to convince him to trust her? When she is kidnapped by a mad man, will Quincy save her before she is lost to him forever?

Book Son of Six Brothers

Download or read book Son of Six Brothers written by Gert Wolfsohn and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2017-03-05 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gert Wolfsohn, born in Windhoek now Namibia, in 1924, was the only child of wonderful parents who, I know, did not have a happy marriage but stuck it out as best they could though the ups and downs of life to give me, their son, the very best start in my life that they could. As I grew older I felt very deeply about that and my own aim in life was to be lucky enough to find a wife that I could love, respect and lean on at all times and who would love me. Although I got to know my Little girl when she was 6 years of age there was friendship but nothing more, I well remember her pushing her little blue dolls pram around her garden while we boys climbed the bordering trees ignoring her pleas to join us. Young boys just had to show off even at 9 years of age. You will read about what happened in my later life in this, my book of my life’s memories. I am very, very proud of my own family whose love and togetherness has held us together so wonderfully well over so many years. I was fortunate to achieve the love in marriage that my parents did not have. My deep respect and thanks to my air force buddies who gave us all the courage to stick together through both the horrors and the few good times of WW2. WE “carried ‘each other always, with a deep companionship using the skills that our instructors had drilled into each of us. WHY CAN WE NOT DO IT IN TIMES OF SO CALLED PEACE ???
