I will come unto thee quickly [suddenly], and remove thy candlestick [church/denomination] out of his place, except thou repent (Revelation 2:5). I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews [the true elect], and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan (Revelation 2:9). Thou hast there them that ... eat things sacrificed unto idols, and commit fornication (Revelation 2:14). I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. I have not found thy works perfect before God (Revelation 3:1). Thou sufferest ... my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. Behold, I will cast ... them that commit adultery ... into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death (Revelation 2:20,22,23). Because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. Thou knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. Buy of me gold tried in the fire and white raiment, that ... the shame of thy nakedness not appear; and anoint thine eyes ... that thou mayest see (Revelation 3:17-18).

Book excerpt: About two thousand years ago, our Lord Jesus Christ appeared to the apostle John on the Island of Patmos and revealed to him the existence of an ancient Satanic fraternity that still exists to this day. Jesus called it the Synagogue of Satan, but it has been called by many different names down through the years by many different people and cultures. Those groups who actually worshipped Satan, both then and now, have always been mysterious and obscure to the general public, which have always found it very hard to explain their very existence. On the back cover of this book is the depiction of a temple or cathedral located atop the mountain in southern France known as Montsegur, which means a secure mountain. Archeologists and historians tell us they believe this ruin was once a solar temple, but the Catholic Church repeatedly labeled this structure "The Synagogue of Satan".

Download or read book Satan s Synagogue written by Brian Josepher and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019-03-28 with total page 798 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel. Another Holocaust survivor named Pfefferkorn. The author of the Gospel According to Mark. The ministry of Jesus Christ. The 1st century historian Josephus. Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria. An obscure writer named Brian Josepher. Their stories, and others, intersect in this chronicle spanning 2,000 years. Part historical text, part fictional story - or what the author calls a faux history - this story begins when the author Brian Josepher publishes a critical biography on Elie Wiesel. The "unauthorized" nature of the book, the controversy, exposing the legend behind the man, leads to a kind of stardom. The book becomes a cultural event and heavy sales for the author follow. Something else follows. Death threats. The author goes into hiding. He chooses Jerusalem. There, he discovers a lost manuscript after doing some digging in the cemetery on the Mount of Olives. That manuscript, originally published in the immediate aftermath of the Book of Mark, greatly influenced the New Testament. It called into question the motivations of the evangelist named Mark. It exposed the legend behind the prophet Jesus Christ. But that manuscript also shined a light on its own author. Who really was Josephus and how did he stoke his own legend at the expense of the man? This faux history then unearths histories both large and small. It's aim, to find some truth in the incredible complexity that is history, follows a circuitous route: from Brooklyn to Austria to Jerusalem to Nazareth, from Elie Wiesel to Auschwitz to The Holocaust, from Mark to Jesus to Josephus, from Josephus to Joseph to Josepher. Oh, and there's a bicycle ride made through Galilee and old Phoenicia, known as the Tour de Josephus. On these pages, discoveries are everywhere.

Book The Devil and Demonism in Early Modern England

Download or read book The Devil and Demonism in Early Modern England written by Nathan Johnstone and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2006-01-12 with total page 33 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An original book examining the concept of the Devil in English culture between the Reformation and the end of the English Civil War. Nathan Johnstone looks at the ways in which beliefs about the nature of the Devil and his power in human affairs changed as a consequence of the Reformation, and its impact on religious, literary and political culture. He moves away from the established focus on demonology as a component of the belief in witchcraft and examines a wide range of religious and political milieux, such as practical divinity, the interiority of Puritan godliness, anti-popery, polemic and propaganda, and popular culture. The concept of the Devil that emerged from the Reformation had a profound impact on the beliefs and practices of committed Protestants, but it also influenced both the political debates of the reigns of Elizabeth I, James I and Charles I, and in popular culture more widely.

Book Jews Horns and the Devil

Download or read book Jews Horns and the Devil written by Anton Felton and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One picture may save a thousand words but we will never know how many hundreds of thousands of lives were not saved, how many millions of lives were not even lived, because of the climate of fear and of hate prompted and promoted by the anti-Semitic pictures of Satanic horned Jews. From the 12th to the 21st century, these cartoons, simplifying and intensifying fears and hatreds, were powerful tools in the spread of anti-Semitism. These images first appeared in medieval Christianity, reappeared in 19th and 20th century Racialism, Fascism and Marxism, and today are part of the visual images of contemporary Islam; four absolutely different belief systems with different life cycles all sharing the exact same indelible meme with its exact same visual expression targeting the exact same expiatory victim. For a thousand years, the power of this fabrication has erased existential realities and, with devastating consequences, the fear generated by the image of the demonised Jew has been reflected onto the real Jew. Some of the cartoons in this book may shock our sensibilities; to many they are a vital shared social truth, to others a vile experienced reality.

Book The Oxford Handbook of Early Modern English Literature and Religion

Download or read book The Oxford Handbook of Early Modern English Literature and Religion written by Andrew Hiscock and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2017 with total page 849 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This pioneering Handbook offers a comprehensive consideration of the dynamic relationship between English literature and religion in the early modern period. The sixteenth and seventeenth centuries were the most turbulent times in the history of the British church - and, perhaps as a result, produced some of the greatest devotional poetry, sermons, polemics, and epics of literature in English. The early-modern interaction of rhetoric and faith is addressed in thirty-nine chapters of original research, divided into five sections. The first analyses the changes within the church from the Reformation to the establishment of the Church of England, the phenomenon of puritanism and the rise of non-conformity. The second section discusses ten genres in which faith was explored, including poetry, prophecy, drama, sermons, satire, and autobiographical writings. The middle section focuses on selected individual authors, among them Thomas More, Christopher Marlowe, John Donne, Lucy Hutchinson, and John Milton. Since authors never write in isolation, the fourth section examines a range of communities in which writers interpreted their faith: lay and religious households, sectarian groups including the Quakers, clusters of religious exiles, Jewish and Islamic communities, and those who settled in the new world. Finally, the fifth section considers some key topics and debates in early modern religious literature, ranging from ideas of authority and the relationship of body and soul, to death, judgment, and eternity. The Handbook is framed by a succinct introduction, a chronology of religious and literary landmarks, a guide for new researchers in this field, and a full bibliography of primary and secondary texts relating to early modern English literature and religion.
