Book The Sword of the Spirit in Memory

Download or read book The Sword of the Spirit in Memory written by Tena Marchand and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012-09 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Sword of the Spirit demonstrates a very easy method for memorizing scripture while enabling a deeper understanding of His Word. It will change you. You will establish a secure and solid foundation in Christ. You will become spiritually stronger as you face different challenges throughout life in your walk with the Lord. You will be set free from long-term sin, habits, and attitudes that have weighed you down and affected your overall Christian experience. You will develop a new way of thinking and discover that old ways are becoming a thing of the past. You will experience victory rather than defeat. You will move on to maturity more easily. A twenty-year-old has reached adulthood, but is not as mature as his father. The young adult should not be thinking or acting like a child that is five, ten, or thirteen years old. Nothing of those ages should influence his maturity level, or he will have difficulty making it in life and he will know stress very well. The same applies to us as Christians if we are not actively forsaking old ways and developing new ways. Topics include forgiveness, prayer, faith, resisting temptation, freedom from sin habits, peace, handling trials, renewing your mind, going forward, and allowing God to live through you just to name a few of the very basic essentials for a solid platform in Christ. These scriptures will set you free from unnecessary burdens of self that hinder your moving forward in victory. As you memorize and meditate on these scriptures, you will be set free from years of emotional baggage that guide your feelings, thoughts, reactions, and decisions. You are renewing your mind and being transformed. It is what takes place in you by the working of the Holy Spirit, God Himself, as you memorize His Word a genuine "new you"! Memorizing the Bible is such a daunting task, that many people relegate it to the extremely spiritual and lose all hope of ever applying this wonderful tool to their own life. I so appreciate the humility and wisdom of Tena Marchand and this amazing tool for the believer. Without a doubt, these concepts and devotionals will help you accomplish this wonderful aspect of our faith. David had a revelation of this truth when he wrote, "I have stored up Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You" (Psalms 119:11). Be blessed. Jonathan Stockstill, Lead Pastor of Bethany Church

Download or read book Besorah written by Mark S. Kinzer and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2021-06-09 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The gospel of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth has healed countless lives over the centuries, but the gospel itself has been wounded through neglect of one of its main components. The books of Luke and Acts reveal that the death and resurrection of Jesus are linked inextricably to the destruction and promised restoration of Jerusalem, the city that personifies the Jewish people as a whole. To highlight this expanded understanding of the gospel, Mark Kinzer and Russ Resnik unpack the Hebrew term for gospel, besorah, as a prophetic message of salvation for Israel and all nations. In Luke's besorah, the death and resurrection of the Messiah are a sign of the coming judgment and restoration of Jerusalem and the Jewish people--a restoration that brings with it the renewal of all creation. This prophetic dimension of the besorah is a key to healing the fractured gospel and restoring its power amidst the strife and tumult of the twenty-first century.

Book The Gifts of the Holy Spirit to Unbelievers and Believers

Download or read book The Gifts of the Holy Spirit to Unbelievers and Believers written by Clement Read Vaughan and published by . This book was released on 1894 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This treatise does not seek to enlarge the boundaries of Christian knowledge, unless the attempt to restate the old familiar truths of the gospel of grace in the forms they have assumed in a re-thinking of them under the current modes of thought in the passing era can be so called. The object is wholly practical. There are no new speculations here. The discussion only seeks to extend the applicaion of some of these venerable truths to the practical experience of Christian people, and to restate the terms on which the Christian hope may be obtained by those not yet entitled to indulge it. - Preface.

The explosion that should have killed Dawn ignites a fiery trail of buried memories, all leading to the point where it all began. She remembers... She's not from Earth at all. She's the daughter of one of the ruling families of another world in another dimension, sent to Earth by her parents to protect her from a galactic despot who wants all the rulers' children as hostages. She's from the Hunt, branded as such by two thin white lines on her wrist, caused by the Hounds of Hamin--interdimensional guardian beasts that hold the children's wrists in their mouths as they pull them through the vortex from their world to Earth. But Dawn remembers something else. Someone else. Stayn, her best friend and her betrothed. Where is he? Can he rescue her from the 'safe' house where she's currently guarded by federal agents? And can they rekindle what time and distance has torn apart?
