Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sundays, Dreams, and Souvenirs is a book of joys, sorrows, searching, praying, and loving. It is a book of the sharing of insights of childhood and adulthood all merged into one as a whole. There are reflections on growing up on being a child, on learning as an adult, and the lessons of childhood . . . again. We are all travelers on this journey called life. We bring along with us the souvenirs from the past the joyous days of childhood, and running free, the adult years. Looking back, the pain of rejection and heartbreak; the poignant love of family; the lessons learned in giving, in praying, in hoping, in witnessing death and dying, only to emerge into a newness of life; in witnessing life in all its beauty, in all its trauma and joy; but always keeping our eyes on the love of God, the love of family, and the dreams that we keep in our heart, which can see us through the challenges of life at every turn. We need to trust God in these pages, to open up to a world that can be and is really within each of our grasps. It is a world of wonder, awe, and beauty, but also one of painstaking trust in giving to God each moment of our lives, to the Creator who formed us in our mother's womb, and to give him back a life of tenacity and strength and total joy. Jeff Bradley wrote, "The magic of the next word . . . infinite possibilities." We too can find this as we turn the page.

Download or read book Nietzsche s Zarathustra written by C. G. Jung and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-12-18 with total page 821 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1989. As a young man growing up near Basel, Jung was fascinated and disturbed by tales of Nietzsche's brilliance, eccentricity, and eventual decline into permanent psychosis. These volumes, the transcript of a previously unpublished private seminar, reveal the fruits of his initial curiosity: Nietzsche's works, which he read as a student at the University of Basel, had moved him profoundly and had a life-long influence on his thought. During the sessions the mature Jung spoke informally to members of his inner circle about a thinker whose works had not only overwhelmed him with the depth of their understanding of human nature but also provided the philosophical sources of many of his own psychological and metapsychological ideas. Above all, he demonstrated how the remarkable book Thus Spake Zarathustra illustrates both Nietzsche's genius and his neurotic and prepsychotic tendencies. Since there was at that time no thought of the seminar notes being published, Jung felt free to joke, to lash out at people and events that irritated or angered him, and to comment unreservedly on political, economic, and other public conerns of the time. This seminar and others, including the one recorded in Dream Analysis, were given in English in Zurich during the 1920s and 1930s.

Download or read book A New Day written by Akinade Akintunde E. (ed.) and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2010 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The unprecedented resurgence, renewal, and rebirth of twenty-first century Christianity in postcolonial societies, such as Asia, Africa, and Latin America, calls for new insights, methodologies, and paradigms since the West can no longer be regarded as the sole citadel and cradle of the Christian faith. The Christian message has been reshaped and reappropriated in different contexts and cultures and, through this cross-cultural transmission and transformation, it has become a world religion. Contextualizing the Christian faith also entails decolonizing its theology, precepts, and dogma. These efforts continue to engender new initiatives and efforts in the intercultural, interconfessional, intercontinental, and interreligious dimensions of world Christianity. A New Day is a collection of essays in honor of Lamin Sanneh, one of the most adamant advocates and apostles of the radical change in the face of Christianity in the twenty-first century. The essays in this book by recognized scholars deal with issues, themes, and perspectives that are important for understanding Christianity as a world religious movement.

Download or read book God and Dreams written by John Pratt Bingham and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2010-01-01 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At one time when an individual wanted a direct, personal experience of God that person turned to his or her dreams. The early third century Christian defender of the faith, Tertullian, observed, "Is it not known to all people that the dream is the most usual way that God reveals himself to man?" Yet by the eleventh century, King William II of England states, "They are not good Christians that regard dreams." Why did this reversal of opinion occur, not only in Christian thinking, but in Jewish and Islamic attitudes also? God and Dreams: Is There a Connection? traces the historic connection between God and dreams and examines why this shift happened. While particular attention is given to Jewish, Christian, and Islamic thought, several secular disciplines are discussed also. After investigating the different points of view, an argument is made that the connection between God and dreams still exists.
Download or read book The Dream Girls written by Janice Hunter and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2008-06 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The universe works in mysterious ways. Five women of very different ages, from very different walks of life. Five women with nothing in common nothing except the universal bond of womanhood and their mutual interest in dream analysis. An unlikely group for the universe to bring together. They'd first met at a conference on dream interpretation and discovered they lived within a few minutes' drive of each other. They decided to form a group and meet on a regular basis to continue their study and discussion of dreams. Little did they know how that one weekend would change their lives. Four years and countless pots of tea later, The Dream Girls as they'd christened themselves were the closest of friends. Proof the universe knew what it was doing!"--Author's website.
