Book The Spiritual Manager

Download or read book The Spiritual Manager written by Wayne Back and published by Wayne Back. This book was released on 2012-10-01 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As managers, we have the major influence in the productivity and satisfaction of those who work in our teams. We can not only influence them to fulfil their potential at work, but we can also bring the influence of Heaven to their lives. This book will help you to apply biblical principles to your management role. Many management practices have a sound biblical foundation but many do not. This book brings those aspects of management theory which have a foundation in Scripture and are highly practical. There is an enormous volume of management theories and frameworks that address only one aspect of management. These theories both overlap each other and have situations in which they don’t work very well. This book integrates the relevant management theories to bring a comprehensive approach to management. The chapter titles are: Chapter one: Building the presence of God at your workplace Chapter two: Building your influence: The basis for leadership and effective evangelism Chapter three: Management, leadership and other team roles Chapter four: Culture and systems: The spirit and the letter? Chapter five: Team climate and organizational culture Chapter six: Providing clarity Chapter seven: Giving responsibility Chapter eight: Setting appropriate standards Chapter nine: Increasing flexibility Chapter ten: Giving rewards Chapter eleven: Conflict resolution Chapter twelve: Fostering collaboration Chapter thirteen: Developing people Chapter fourteen: Developing teams

Book The 7 Minute Spiritual Manager

Download or read book The 7 Minute Spiritual Manager written by Jay Stephens and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2005-10 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The biblical principles found in The 7 Minute Spiritual Manager simplify spiritual management and increase spiritual reactions and reaction time when incorporated with the basic concepts of management. The book serves as a resource and an assessment tool. The seven-minute spiritual manager establishes a spiritually intuitive action plan for goals and objectives which lead to purpose; and decrees to the soul that as a result of spiritual practice (obedience), God will initiate and support thoughts and actions which will produce optimum outcomes in spite of obstacles and difficult situations. The spiritual manager strives for spiritual consistency and avoidance of flesh-laden distractions to close the time gap between events, thought for resolution, and spiritual reaction. The Bible, as the foundation of a spiritual action plan, serves as a resource for supporting and assessing progress towards godly purpose. The spiritual manager, unable to remove completely the burden of sin from worldly surroundings, empowers the soul to contradict the appeal of sin (wrong choices) to our weakest points. He or she invalidates and lessens sinful opportunities while maximizing spiritual production. The spiritual manager's ultimate goal then evolves from one of satisfying a temporary need, to attaining ongoing spiritual enlightenment and fulfillment.

Book Capturing the Heart of Leadership

Download or read book Capturing the Heart of Leadership written by Gilbert W. Fairholm and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 1997-03-25 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book seeks to promote a new spiritual approach to organizational leadership that goes beyond visionary management to a new focus on the spiritual for both leader and led. Reflecting on the current crisis of meaning in America, this book takes up the search for significance in peoples' worklives—in the products they produce and in the services they offer. Recognizing that the new corporation has become the dominant community for many— commanding most of our waking hours by providing a focus for life, a measure of personal success, and a network of personal relationships—Fairholm calls on business leaders to focus their attention on the processes of community among their stakeholders: wholeness, integrity, stewardship, and morality. Spiritual leadership is seen here as a dynamic, interactive process. Successful leadership in the new American workplace, therefore, is dependent on a recognition that leadership is a relationship, not a skill or a personal attribute. Leaders are leaders only as far as they develop relationships with their followers, relationships that help all concerned to achieve their spiritual, as well as economic and social, fulfillment.

The fresh and insightful result covers both spiritual and practical sides of the art, from the nature of the soul to recommendations on payment rates. Both directors and directees benefit from this wholistic look that considers all of the person and not just his or her prayer life. At the book's heart, though, is spiritual direction at its best. Edwards examines new methods to nurture the soul, ways to recognize a true spiritual experience, and suggestions for being truly present during the process. Practical guidelines are also given for getting started with new directees, running group spiritual direction, evaluating sessions, and setting up a spiritual director peer group. In addition, Edwards gives a brief history of this special ministry and a view of its future. He also considers spiritual companionship in other religious traditions and their relation to a Christian framework. This new title offers enormous insight and support for both spiritual directors and directees, anyone considering entering spiritual direction, and all those ministers--from pastors to Christian counselors--who so often unexpectedly find themselves in the role of spiritual director. +

Download or read book The Reluctant Spiritual Director written by Fleetwood Range and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2008-10-27 with total page 147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spiritual direction is a particular way of walking the path of spiritual discovery in close company with another person. The Reluctant Spiritual Director speaks to both the prospective spiritual director, uncertain of his or her call, and the prospective directee, uncertain of the benefits. This book answers the most basic questions about spiritual direction: What is it? How does it work? Who does it? Would spiritual direction help me? Am I being called into this ministry myself? Though spiritual direction is an ancient Christian spiritual practice it has only recently been rediscovered by mainstream Christianity because of the widespread longing for something more.

Book Saint Paul as Spiritual Director

Download or read book Saint Paul as Spiritual Director written by Victor A. Copan and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2008-02-01 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years much has been written on spiritual direction. However, confusion and at times outright contradiction exist between the aims and methodologies of various models of Christian spiritual direction. In order to develop solid criteria for evaluating and critiquing these models it is necessary to root the practice of spiritual direction in the biblical record. The intention of this study is to provide such biblical moorings by examining the Apostle Paul as a case study in his function as a spiritual director--with respect to his aims and praxis of spiritually forming the members of the congregations he founded.
