Book excerpt: In Sell with Soul the author shares her rise from a nervous rookie agent to a successful real estate broker in Denver, Colorado. The book contains detailed instructions and checklists for many of the activities a new agent must master, such as building a contact database, learning the market, working with buyers, crafting marketing listings, and negotiating inspections. Allan also shares many stories from her own career that will help the new agent better understand her recommendations. Sell with Soul also speaks out against the status quo and asks agents to consider the needs of their clients before considering their own personal need for a paycheque, and counsels agents to welcome every learning experience, even when it does not result in a closed sale. Many new agents have told Allan how her book gave them hope that they could succeed without sacrificing their principles or changing their personalities.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Don't hate me because I'm beautiful... Call me V. I used to be a nobody, just a girl from New Jersey who was probably going to hell anyway -- or worse, mediocrity and a size 14. Now I get whatever I desire just by casting a little spell....a flawless body, a luxury penthouse, and a Fifth Avenue shop where rich women clamor for my overpriced handbags. Even better, I have power. I can taunt my ex-husband, break hearts without guilt, and love every minute of it. My secret? I lost the one thing I never needed in the first place: my soul. I sold it. And you'll never guess who's got it now. She's a devil in disguise. You know her as the dishiest gossip columnist in the city's trashiest tabloid. I call her Lucy. And our deal is this: the more clients I recruit for her Life Enrichment Program, the greater my rewards. But just between us, my fast track to heartless apathy has hit a few speed bumps -- lately, I've had the totally annoying impulse to do things that are...good. First there was rescuing a kid in the park. Then there was the date with the handsome, decent guy who wasn't even a celebrity. What's next, giving to charity or something? All I know is Lucy doesn't like it, not one little bit. And when she finds out, there will be hell to pay...

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Health care costs make up nearly a fifth of U.S. gross domestic product, but health care is a peculiar thing to buy and sell. Both a scarce resource and a basic need, it involves physical and emotional vulnerability and at the same time it operates as big business. Patients have little choice but to trust those who provide them care, but even those providers confront a great deal of medical uncertainty about the services they offer. Selling Our Souls looks at the contradictions inherent in one particular health care market—hospital care. Based on extensive interviews and observations across the three hospitals of one California city, the book explores the tensions embedded in the market for hospital care, how different hospitals manage these tensions, the historical trajectories driving disparities in contemporary hospital practice, and the perils and possibilities of various models of care. As Adam Reich shows, the book's three featured hospitals could not be more different in background or contemporary practice. PubliCare was founded in the late nineteenth century as an almshouse in order to address the needs of the destitute. HolyCare was founded by an order of nuns in the mid-twentieth century, offering spiritual comfort to the paying patient. And GroupCare was founded in the late twentieth century to rationalize and economize care for middle-class patients and their employers. Reich explains how these legacies play out today in terms of the hospitals' different responses to similar market pressures, and the varieties of care that result. Selling Our Souls is an in-depth investigation into how hospital organizations and the people who work in them make sense of and respond to the modern health care market.

Book excerpt: I thought it was easy; for a poet, everything is a flow. But then, they told me I need a description of the book. I stayed a few hours in silence, thinking about how I can tell the world how I feel about hours of work in a few sentences. I unfold the truth of a broken soul. We all carry a fractured soul. We do, sometimes, leave them hanged in our closet. Rushing through life, we don't look inside as we should. Damaged, drained, and empty, we exchange it for free to people that can't heal it. No one should fix it for us. I was just wondering if being aware of it and selling it with a second-hand tag. Would that make it easier? Well, there are two choices we can have. To leave it there in the dark, or to sell it to others. So we can all see the scars, so we can all share the pain. Through that exposure of light and art, our souls can heal.

Book excerpt: Sales is the motor that starts everything in your business. Eight out of ten businesses fail within the first 18 months. That's an 80% failure rate. And some statistics show that number is as high as 90%. Why do businesses fail so rapidly and how can you and your company avoid being one of them? At the surface level, the primary reason businesses fail is because they run out of cash (lack of sales). However, if you look below the surface, the cracks in the foundation start well before the brutal day of financial collapse. This book is about avoiding those cracks in the foundation so you can be an epic success story and not a failed statistic. In the 1980's, Don learned that if he didn't sell, his family wasn't going to eat. So he learned to sell out of desperation. Don and his wife began their married life off well below the poverty line, so Don hustled to feed his family. He put food on their table for more than four years by selling Krispy Kreme donuts door-to-door; he then went on to sell vacuum cleaners, alarm systems, 18-wheeler education courses as well as a myriad of other products and services. Sell or Don't Eat is a book for small business owners, CEO's, Founders, and all types of entrepreneurs about what it takes to build and run a massively successful business from a serial entrepreneur who started and sold not one, but two multi-million-dollar businesses. In 2017, one of Don's businesses was in the top 1% of companies in the US in their industry. If you want to discover the secret formula Don learned during the 30 years he spent building his 7-figure businesses and avoid being part of the 80-90% failed business statistic, Sell or Don't Eat, will impart the wisdom you need to put food on your table as well as create lifetime clients no one can ever steal. Here's some of what you'll discover in this book: Lessons learned from selling Krispy Kreme donuts and vacuum cleaners door-to-door. Why selling "techniques" and "gimmicks" aren't working for you. The opposite of manipulation and force and how it can help you become the hero instead of the enemy in the business world. How you can transform into the type of salesperson that won't drive away potential customers. Why working on your weaknesses is bad advice and what to do instead. How to truly embrace the magic elixir that you possess so your ideal clients will be magnetically drawn to you. The four changes you can make right now by understanding the Hell Week training the Navy Seals undergo. The biggest threat to your business and how to avoid it every day. If you want to have a thriving business, find more clients, sell more at higher margins, develop more revenue, and repeat the process. Sell or Don't Eat will give you the blueprint and the profound wisdom you need to do that. Click the BUY NOW button and let's close the sale on the epic success of your business so you can prosperously provide for your family.
