Book The Smarandache Korselt criterion a variant of Korselt s criterion

Download or read book The Smarandache Korselt criterion a variant of Korselt s criterion written by Marius Coman and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 3 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Combining two of my favourite objects of study, the Fermat pseudoprimes and the Smarandache function, I was able to formulate a criterion, inspired by Korselt’s criterion for Carmichael numbers and by Smarandache function, which seems to be necessary (though not sufficient as the Korselt’s criterion for absolute Fermat pseudoprimes) for a composite number (without a set of probably definable exceptions) to be a Fermat pseudoprime to base two.

Book Conjectures on Primes and Fermat Pseudoprimes Many Based on Smarandache Function

Download or read book Conjectures on Primes and Fermat Pseudoprimes Many Based on Smarandache Function written by Marius Coman and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 85 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is always difficult to talk about arithmetic, because those who do not know what is about, nor do they understand in few sentences, no matter how inspired these might be, and those who know what is about, do no need to be told what is about. Arithmetic is that branch of mathematics that you keep it in your soul and in your mind, not in your suitcase or laptop. Part One of this book of collected papers aims to show new applications of Smarandache function in the study of some well known classes of numbers, like Sophie Germain primes, Poulet numbers, Carmichael numbers ets. Beside the well-known notions of number theory, we defined in these papers the following new concepts: “Smarandache-Coman divisors of order k of a composite integer n with m prime factors”, “Smarandache-Coman congruence on primes”, “Smarandache-Germain primes”, Coman-Smarandache criterion for primality”, “Smarandache-Korselt criterion”, “Smarandache-Coman constants”. Part Two of this book brings together several papers on few well known and less known types of primes.

Book Cryptographic Boolean Functions and Applications

Download or read book Cryptographic Boolean Functions and Applications written by Thomas W. Cusick and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2017-03-31 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cryptographic Boolean Functions and Applications, Second Edition is designed to be a comprehensive reference for the use of Boolean functions in modern cryptography. While the vast majority of research on cryptographic Boolean functions has been achieved since the 1970s, when cryptography began to be widely used in everyday transactions, in particular banking, relevant material is scattered over hundreds of journal articles, conference proceedings, books, reports and notes, some of them only available online. This book follows the previous edition in sifting through this compendium and gathering the most significant information in one concise reference book. The work therefore encompasses over 600 citations, covering every aspect of the applications of cryptographic Boolean functions. Since 2008, the subject has seen a very large number of new results, and in response, the authors have prepared a new chapter on special functions. The new edition brings 100 completely new references and an expansion of 50 new pages, along with heavy revision throughout the text. Presents a foundational approach, beginning with the basics of the necessary theory, then progressing to more complex content Includes major concepts that are presented with complete proofs, with an emphasis on how they can be applied Includes an extensive list of references, including 100 new to this edition that were chosen to highlight relevant topics Contains a section on special functions and all-new numerical examples

At the heart of the book are the major number theoretic accomplishments of Euclid, Fermat, Gauss, Legendre, and Euler, and to fully illustrate the properties of numbers and concepts developed in the text, a wealth of exercises have been included. It is assumed that the reader will have 'pencil in hand' and ready access to a calculator or computer. For students new to number theory, whatever their background, this is a stimulating and entertaining introduction to the subject.

Book Fibonacci Numbers and Their Applications

Download or read book Fibonacci Numbers and Their Applications written by Andreas Philippou and published by Springer. This book was released on 2001-11-30 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It isn't that they can't see the solution. It is Approach your problems from the right end and begin with the answers. Then one day, that they can't see the problem. perhaps you will find the final question. O. K. Chesterton. The Scandal of Father 'The Hermit Clad in Crane Feathers' in R. Brown 'The point of a Pin'. van Oulik's The Chinese Maze Murders. Growing specialization and diversification have brought a host of monographs and textbooks on increasingly specialized topics. However, the "tree" of knowledge of mathematics and related fields does not grow only by putting forth new branches. It also happens, quite often in fact, that branches which were thought to be completely disparate are suddenly seen to be related. Further, the kind and level of sophistication of mathematics applied in various sciences has changed drastically in recent years: measure theory is used (non trivially) in regional and theoretical economics; algebraic geometry interacts with physics; the Minkowsky lemma, coding theory and the structure of water meet one another in packing and covering theory; quantum fields, crystal defects and mathematical programming profit from homotopy theory; Lie algebras are relevant to filtering; and prediction and electrical engineering can use Stein spaces. And in addition to this there are such new emerging subdisciplines as "experimental mathematics", "CFD", "completely integrable systems", "chaos, synergetics and large-scale order", which are almost impossible to fit into the existing classification schemes. They draw upon widely different sections of mathematics.

Download or read book Sequences and their Applications written by T. Helleseth and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 335 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pseudorandom sequences have widespread applications, for instance, in spread spectrum, code division multiple access, optical and ultrawide band communication systems, as well as in ranging systems global positioning systems, circuit testing and stream ciphers. Such sequences also have strong ties to error-correcting codes. This volume contains survey and research papers on sequences and their applications. It brings together leading experts from discrete mathematics, computer science and communications engineering, and helps to bridge advances in these different areas. Papers in this volume discuss the theory of sequences and their applications in cryptography, coding theory, communications systems, numerical computation and computer simulation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book helps students at the advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate levels to develop connections between the algebra, geometry, and analysis that they know, and to better appreciate the totality of what they have learned. The text demonstrates the use of general concepts by applying theorems from various areas in the context of one problem - solving the quintic. The problem is approached from two directions: the first is Felix Klein's nineteenth-century approach, using the icosahedron. The second approach presents recent works of Peter Doyle and Curt McMullen, which update Klein's use of transcendental functions to a solution through pure iteration.
