Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about rejecting Hamitic movements in America and the world. The concept came to him after several decades of studies of the most sound literature, resembling Joseph Conrad. He was glad to turn down more passion, getting out of superdiabolical satispassion. The anti-Londonism or anti-Londonianism appealed. This reminded him of his novel of Anette Benning: Frankenstein-Five, which was a Frankenstein novel in the bizarrely distant future of One Million A.D. One Million A.D. was the sequel of it. Anette Benning and the Third Reich, which was a novel of time travel. The Smallest Oasis was a borrowed title of Nietsches Thus Spake Zarathrusta.

  • Author : Evan R. Ward
  • Publisher : University of Arizona Press

  • ISBN : 0816532052

Download or read book Border Oasis written by Evan R. Ward and published by University of Arizona Press. This book was released on 2015-07-10 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Border Oasis tells how two very different nations developed the delta into an agricultural oasis at enormous environmental cost. Focusing on the years 1940 to 1975 - including the disastrous salinity crisis of the 1960s and 1970s - it combines Mexican, Native American, and U.S. perspectives to demonstrate that the political and diplomatic influences on the delta played as much a part in the region's transformation as did irrigation. Ward reveals how mistrust among political and economic participants has been fueled by conflict between national and local officials on both sides of the border, by Mexican nationalism, and by a mutual recognition that water is the critical ingredient for regional economic development."--University of Arizona Press website

Book The Small Faces Other Stories

Download or read book The Small Faces Other Stories written by Roland Schmitt and published by Bobcat Books. This book was released on 2011-08-01 with total page 444 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Small Faces & Other Stories is a trip back in time, charting the rise and fall of one of the Sixties most energetic and successful bands. It is the extraordinary story of how this bold four-piece, led by mercurial cockney Steve Marriot, found fame and then splintered by the end of the decade to evolve into Humble Pie with Peter Frampton, and the Faces fronted by Rod Stewart. Along the way their trademark songs Itchycoo Park, All or Nothing, Stay With Me and Baby I Love Your Way would influence future generations of musicians such as Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene and Blur. By way of anecdote, interview and analysis, Uli Twelker and Roland Schmitt lift the lid on the bands’ complex histories and the explosive characters involved that built one of rock music’s most enduring and successful family trees.

However, a small garden can present challenges to even the most experience gardener: it may be overlooked, which can impact upon your privacy; there may be more shade than you would like; and it may not be immediately obvious how to create a space that is both multifunctional and beautiful. RHS Small Garden Handbook provides an all-in-one guide for small space gardeners and draws on the experience in growing, planting, landscaping and design for which the RHS is world famous. Showing how your decisions on layout, colour and texture will affect the finished design and what tricks can be played to create a greater sense of space - with everything from expert design advice on boundaries, hedges and fences to clever ideas for containers and storage - every gardener will gain confidence in creating a garden to enjoy no matter how big the plot. Each of the nine chapters includes 15 ways to make instant improvements and a real-life case study to inspire change. Book Visualizing the Afterlife in the Tombs of Graeco Roman Egypt

Download or read book Visualizing the Afterlife in the Tombs of Graeco Roman Egypt written by Marjorie Susan Venit and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2015-11-24 with total page 303 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lost in Egypt's honeycombed hills, distanced by its western desert, or rendered inaccessible by subsequent urban occupation, the monumental decorated tombs of the Graeco-Roman period have received little scholarly attention. This volume serves to redress this deficiency. It explores the narrative pictorial programs of a group of decorated tombs from Ptolemaic and Roman-period Egypt (c.300 BCE–250 CE). Its aim is to recognize the tombs' commonalities and differences across ethnic divides and to determine the rationale that lies behind these connections and dissonances. This book sets the tomb programs within their social, political, and religious context and analyzes the manner in which the multicultural population of Graeco-Roman Egypt chose to negotiate death and the afterlife.
