Tryam has arrived at the paladin temple in Secundus to join the ranks of the legendary brotherhood of the warriors of light. However, soon after he begins his training, heralds bring shocking news: An Abyssal-born plague is devastating paladin temples across Medias, leaving no survivors. After the destruction of Arkos, the fallen Abbot Monbatten has been wandering the Corona Mountains, begging Aten to take his life. When the great dragon Valthryx grabs him in her claws before death claims him, Monbatten believes he has been spared for a grand purpose. Taken to the temple of the Dark God, Terminus, Monbatten is reborn in dragon flames. Now under the guise of the disfigured sage Janus, Monbatten is ordered to destroy the Paladin Order, the only force on Medias hindering Terminus's return. Tryam, desperate to find a cure for the malady that even the wisest among the paladins cannot discover, recalls an ancient relic possessing divine healing properties thought lost to history, the enigmatic Tear of Aten. On his quest to find the Tear, Tryam must first confront the tragedy of his family's past. The journey takes him to his ancestral home, Tryon Keep, now besieged by a bloodthirsty battle mage named Balamachus and his squad of indestructible war machines.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Combining compelling narrative and grand historical sweep, Forgotten Allies offers a vivid account of the Oneida Indians, forgotten heroes of the American Revolution who risked their homeland, their culture, and their lives to join in a war that gave birth to a new nation at the expense of their own. Revealing for the first time the full sacrifice of the Oneidas in securing independence, Forgotten Allies offers poignant insights about Oneida culture and how it changed and adjusted in the wake of nearly two centuries of contact with European-American colonists. It depicts the resolve of an Indian nation that fought alongside the revolutionaries as their valuable allies, only to be erased from America's collective historical memory. Beautifully written, Forgotten Allies recaptures these lost memories and makes certain that the Oneidas' incredible story is finally told in its entirety, thereby deepening and enriching our understanding of the American experience.

The Tomb of Theragaard is a fast paced sword and sorcery story with knights, barbarians, a young wizard, a Necromancer, an undead army, a titanic magical construct, and a youth yearning to be a paladin. Tryam dreams about becoming a legendary paladin of old and combating the evil that is falling across Medias like a malevolent shadow. But as a ward of the Church, he is forced to obey every whim of an overbearing abbot who preaches peace above all else. Dementhus is a wizard of immense power and even greater ambition. To further his ends, he has broken faith with the Wizard Council and has learned the forbidden magic of necromancy. As payment for this knowledge, he must deliver to the Dark God a weapon from the time of the Ancients: an unstoppable artifact known as a Golem.

Book The Battle of Oriskany and General Nicholas Herkimer

This book was released on 2013-02-12 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A gripping account of events before, during, and after this British defeat in New York’s Mohawk Valley, and the man who led the Continental army to victory. During the critical Battle of Oriskany in August 1777, Continental forces led by General Nicholas Herkimer defeated the British army under St. Leger in the heart of New York’s Mohawk Valley. It was a hard-won victory, but he and his brave troops prevented the British from splitting the colonies in two. Although they did not succeed in relieving the British siege of Fort Stanwix, Herkimer’s citizen-soldiers turned back the British and protected Washington’s northern flank from attack. The Continental army survived to fight the decisive Battle of Saratoga the next month. Herkimer was mortally wounded, but his heroism and leadership firmly placed him in the pantheon of Revolutionary War heroes. Paul Boehlert presents a gripping account of the events before, during and after this critical battle. Includes photos and illustrations

Book Narrative and Critical History of America The United States of North America Part I

This book was released on 2020-09-28 with total page 1457 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE American Revolution was no unrelated event, but formed a part of the history of the British race on both continents, and was not without influence on the history of mankind. As an event in British history, it wrought with other forces in effecting that change in the Constitution of the mother country which transferred the prerogatives of the crown to the Parliament, and led to the more beneficent interpretation of its provisions in the light of natural rights. As an event in American history, it marks the period, recognized by the great powers of Europe, when a people, essentially free by birth and by the circumstances of their situation, became entitled, because justified by valor and endurance, to take their place among independent nations. Finally, as an event common to the history of both nations, it stands midway between the Great Rebellion and the Revolution of 1688, on the one hand, and the Reform Bill of 1832 and the extension of suffrage in 1884, on the other, and belongs to a race which had adopted the principles of the Reformation and of the Petition of Right. The American Revolution was not a quarrel between two peoples,—the British people and the American people,—but, like all those events which mark the progress of the British race, it was a strife between two parties, the conservatives in both countries as one party, and the liberals in both countries as the other party; and some of its fiercest battles were fought in the British Parliament. Nor did it proceed in one country alone, but in both countries at the same time, with nearly equal step, and was essentially the same in each, so that at the close of the French War, if all the people of Great Britain had been transported to America and put in control of American affairs, and all the people of America had been transported to Great Britain and put in control of British affairs, the American Revolution and the contemporaneous British Revolution—for there was a contemporaneous British Revolution—might have gone on just the same, and with the same final results. But the British Revolution was to regain liberty; the American Revolution was to preserve liberty. Both peoples had a common history in the events which led to the Great Rebellion; but in the reaction which followed the Restoration, that part of the British race which awaited the conflict in the old home passed again under the power of the prerogative, and, after the accession of William III., came under the domination of the great Whig families. The British Revolution, therefore, was to recover what had been lost. But those who emigrated to the colonies left behind them institutions which were monarchical, in church and state, and set up institutions which were democratic. And it was to preserve, not to acquire, these democratic institutions that the liberal party carried the country through a long and costly war.
