Book excerpt: Does love solve all? Shiekh Rameez Molamid doesn’t believe in love. He only cares about looking out for his interests, and after winning Muharraq Island from the Khalidzack brothers in the wedding bet, he’s certainly proven that he can trust his instincts. But when a feud threatens to tear his family apart, he has to do what he can to make peace for the sake of his elderly mother. Wynifred Fellows, author of the upcoming book Love Solves All, is brought in to heal the rift within the family. The last thing she expects is to feel a spark of mutual attraction for the handsome bachelor Rameez. With her publisher turning up the pressure, she really needs a win. But when Rameez and his cousin Haris begin competing for her attention, the feud—and the bedroom—start to heat up. With tensions at a fever pitch, Wynifred knows the only logical thing is to force a confrontation, so she “strands” the three of them on Muharraq Island. What she doesn’t know is that dangerous art collector Anton Negatin is waiting to get his hands on the island, by any means necessary—even murder.

Book excerpt: Laura Bliss is an assistant location scout with no sense of direction—which is how she got stuck with a faulty GPS and the job of scouting sand dunes rather than the oasis her boss is currently viewing. With the sun going down and Laura seriously worrying for her life, she stumbles across a tent that looks more like a palace than a campsite. Dehydrated and burnt, it seems like salvation—until men wearing desert garb and toting AK47’s ride out in jeeps to gather her. Sheikh Raheem can barely believe his luck when an American woman is brought into his tent. He is passionate about his country’s natural splendor, but its PR is in desperate need of a makeover—perhaps as much as the dirty beauty in front of him. He makes an offer: Laura, with her eye for finding the beauty in a location, will help him craft a campaign promoting his country, and when she completes the project he’ll send her back to America with a paycheck she can live on for years. Seeing a chance for financial freedom, Laura jumps at the opportunity. As Raheem shows off the magnificence of his land, Laura finds herself getting swept into a fairy tale full of palaces, five-star luxury, and the most sensuous sex she’s ever experienced. Though she values her independence, the temptation to stay—not just for Raheem, but for the beautiful country that isn’t getting the attention it deserves—holds her in place. But when the country’s natural treasures are threatened, Raheem and Laura must decide what means more to them: their love for one another or their original plans.

Book Islands and International Politics in the Persian Gulf

Download or read book Islands and International Politics in the Persian Gulf written by Kourosh Ahmadi and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2008-05-03 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The position of the Persian Gulf as the main highway between East and West has long given this region special significance both within the Middle East and in global affairs more generally. This book examines the history of international relations in the Gulf since the 1820s as great powers such as Britain and the US, and regional powers such as Iran and Iraq, vied for supremacy over this geopolitically vital region. It focuses on the struggle for control over the islands of the Gulf, in particular the three islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb – an issue that remains highly contentious today. It describes how for 170 years Britain eroded Iranian influence in the Gulf, both directly by asserting colonial rule over Iranian islands and port districts, and also through claiming Iranian islands for their protégés on the Arab littoral. It shows how, after Britain's withdrawal, these islands became a pawn in the animosity and conflict that pitted, at one time, Arab radicals and nationalists against monarchical Iran, and, later, the conservative-moderate Arab camp against Islamic Iran. It goes on to explore the impact of the rise of American power in the Gulf since the start of the 1990s, its policy of containment of Iran and Iraq, and how this has provided encouragement to the ambitions of the Persian Gulf Arab littoral states, especially the UAE, towards the islands of the Gulf.

The Sheikh's Revenge by Seduction (Book 1) A sheikh intent on revenge, an Englishwoman caught in a trap, a love that cannot be denied… Sheikh Rayan ibn Mohammed Aziz is as uncompromising as the desert in which he was raised. So when his half-sister is seduced, dumped, and ruined by a middle-aged English aristocrat, there is only one way in which Rayan intends to exact revenge. The only child of a notorious womanizer, Lauren Alexandra Le Harivel is the apple of her father’s eye. While he roams the world seeking pleasure, she's left by herself to run the family estate and dream of a different life. But when a darkly handsome stranger starts work on the family estate and makes her feel beautiful and desired, she agrees to return with him to his desert homeland. But what began as a means to vent Rayan's anger and avenge his sister's death turns into something very different under the heat of the desert sun and their love affair, which proves even hotter... The Sheikh's Secret Love Child (Book 2) A desert king, a beautiful surfer, a brief affair which puts them all in danger… Sheikh Zeeshan ibn Mohammed Aziz, King of Ahmar, believed he’d found the woman he wanted to marry when Samantha Cross came sweeping into his life with her devastating beauty and a character to match. But she’d disappeared without trace with equal speed. When he’s informed she’s pregnant with his baby, he tracks her down and brings her home. He knows what growing up without a father did to his half-siblings, and he won’t allow that to happen to his child. Sexy, freedom-loving Samantha had only accepted the dare to flirt with the Sheikh of Ahmar for a bit of fun. But she had no idea the ‘friend’ who’d issued the dare was involved with Russian Intelligence who planned to lure Zeeshan to his death. As soon as she discovered what was really going on, she went into hiding to protect her baby. But she hadn’t taken into account the determination of a man scorned, and not just any man—a sheikh, a desert king, a man who’d stop at nothing to get what he wanted. The Sheikh's Marriage Trap (Book 3) A sheikh dedicated to pleasure, a woman intent on revenge, a love that cannot be denied… Sheikh Adam ibn Mohammed Aziz enjoys a life of wheeling and dealing, seducing and flirting. He’s only doing what comes naturally, and loving women happens to come very naturally to him—so long as the women understand that they can never touch his heart. That’s why an arranged marriage will suit him nicely. He only has to make sure of one thing—he’s untainted by scandal. And he’s been too discreet to allow any scandal to attach itself to him. So far, anyway. Half-English, half-Ahmari, librarian Jasmine Delaney flirts with Adam for one reason only—he caused her beloved sister’s death. Her life will never be the same again and she needs the handsome Adam to understand the pain his careless affairs have caused. At first she’s not sure how she can do this. But all becomes clear when she discovers his Achilles Heel—he must appear to be free from scandal. So she decides she’ll give him a scandal which will destroy his future. Perhaps then he’ll understand, in a small way, the grief his womanizing has caused. But the best-laid plans of a vengeful woman can go astray, especially when she finds herself in a setting of exquisite beauty, in the company of a consummate seducer who has spent his life perfecting his ability to give and receive pleasure… Indulge in this boxed set today, and let the allure of Ahmar captivate your heart! 💖
