Book Hinduism Accepts Allah

  • Pages : 109 pages

Download or read book Hinduism Accepts Allah written by Sadhu Ratan Puri and published by Educreation Publishing. This book was released on 2016-06-26 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book in does not put any religion in the negative, but only convincingly puts forward an argument that in Hinduism also, God is formless. Many of you are not aware that idol worshipping in Hinduism was no there in the beginning when the religion began and it was added later by several sages for reasons I have given below. Personally, I believe the whole system of current worship in Hinduism would have been different if people had the capability to understand and the subject of Advaita Vedanta. The knowledge of which is above all other Vedas. In Hinduism knowledge of Vedas is not the highest knowledge, but the highest knowledge is the knowledge of self, as knowledge about self is the only way we can know about the Supreme. Understanding that Hinduism got drifted away from the original worship of formless god to idol worship is very easy. Just look at Saint Sai Baba of Shirdi who lived a simple life just a century ago and is today worshipped by millions of Hindus with lot of temples dedicated to him. This is an example of how Hinduism got drifted away in thousands of years it existed from the original concept of formless one supreme God. We will also have a detailed explanation of energy, which in Hinduism was the other half of God, also created by him and known as goddesses or Shakti. The subject of energy has been explained in detail in the book, because the author states if anything cannot be classified as energy then it is only the one and only one supreme God. The two combined and give us all the illusion which is the world we see and believe. There is a chapter which compares science as just another religion and searching for something within the illusion. In Vishnu Purana, we find Lord Vishnu is praised immensely and Lord Shiva is treated as secondary. But if you look at Shiva Purana, Lord Shiva is immensely praised and the same goes with Devi Bhagavata. This was done to create in the aspirant an intense unquestionable faith in his favorite deity. Because in Hinduism we may worship the same God in any form that we believe. If I have mentioned God as him then that should not be taken as a masculine character but used only because in Hinduism energy is considered in feminine form. We all know that energy does not physically look like a female even though it is considered as feminine by religious principles.

  • Author : Norbert Wiener
  • Publisher : MIT Press

  • Pages : 116 pages

Download or read book God Golem Inc written by Norbert Wiener and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 1966-03-15 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The new and rapidly growing field of communication sciences owes as much to Norbert Wiener as to any one man. He coined the word for it—cybernetics. In God & Golem, Inc., the author concerned himself with major points in cybernetics which are relevant to religious issues. The first point he considers is that of the machine which learns. While learning is a property almost exclusively ascribed to the self-conscious living system, a computer now exists which not only can be programmed to play a game of checkers, but one which can "learn" from its past experience and improve on its own game. For a time, the machine was able to beat its inventor at checkers. "It did win," writes the author, "and it did learn to win; and the method of its learning was no different in principle from that of the human being who learns to play checkers. A second point concerns machines which have the capacity to reproduce themselves. It is our commonly held belief that God made man in his own image. The propagation of the race may also be interpreted as a function in which one living being makes another in its own image. But the author demonstrates that man has made machines which are "very well able to make other machines in their own image," and these machine images are not merely pictorial representations but operative images. Can we then say: God is to Golem as man is to Machines? in Jewish legend, golem is an embryo Adam, shapeless and not fully created, hence a monster, an automation. The third point considered is that of the relation between man and machine. The concern here is ethical. "render unto man the things which are man's and unto the computer the things which are the computer's," warns the author. In this section of the book, Dr. Wiener considers systems involving elements of man and machine. The book is written for the intellectually alert public and does not involve any highly technical knowledge. It is based on lectures given at Yale, at the Société Philosophique de Royaumont, and elsewhere.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As news reports of the horrific December 2004 tsunami in Asia reached the rest of the world, commentators were quick to seize upon the disaster as proof of either God s power or God s nonexistence, asking over and over, How could a good and loving God if such exists allow such suffering? In The Doors of the Sea David Bentley Hart speaks at once to those skeptical of Christian faith and to those who use their Christian faith to rationalize senseless human suffering. He calls both to recognize in the worst catastrophes not the providential will of God but rather the ongoing struggle between the rebellious powers that enslave the world and the God who loves it wholly.

Each chapter on a major doctrine: (1) states a classic issue of ultimate concern, (2) surveys alternative past and present answers and (3) tests those proposals by their congruence with information on the subject progressively revealed from Genesis to Revelation. Then the chapter (4) formulates a doctrinal conclusion that consistently fits the many lines of biblical data, (5) defends that conviction respectfully, and finally (6) explores the conclusion’s relevance to a person’s spiritual birth, growth and service to others, all for the glory of God. Why the title Integrative Theology? In each chapter, steps 2-6 integrate the disciplines of historical, biblical, systematic, apologetic and practical theology.

Book Acts of the Council of Constantinople 1351 AD

Download or read book Acts of the Council of Constantinople 1351 AD written by John V Palaiologus, Eastern Roman Emperor and published by Dalcassian Press. This book was released on 2016-05-15 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Acts of the Council of Constantinople, convened in 1351, address the theological conflict between the Orthodox Church and heretical teachings primarily represented by Barlaam and Akindynos. The council, led by Emperor John Kantakouzenos and other ecclesiastical leaders, firmly condemned the dualistic and heretical interpretations of God’s nature, emphasizing the importance of the Trinity and the uncreated essence of God. The proceedings highlight the necessity of defending piety and truth against false doctrines, reaffirming the Church's teachings through synodal decrees and the testimonies of the holy Fathers. The council sought to unify the Church against internal strife and external threats.

Book Augustine s Theology of Angels

Download or read book Augustine s Theology of Angels written by Elizabeth Klein and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2018-04-12 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: References to the good angels in the works of Augustine are legion, and angels also play a central role in some of his major works, such as City of God and the opening of On the Trinity. Despite Augustine's interest in angels, however, little scholarly work has appeared on the topic. In this book, Elizabeth Klein gives the first comprehensive account of Augustine's theology of the angels and its importance for his thought more generally. Offering a close textual analysis of the reference to angels in Augustine's corpus, the volume explores Augustine's angelology in relationship with his understanding of creation, of community, of salvation history and of spiritual warfare. By examining Augustine's angelology, we glimpse his understanding of time and eternity, as well as the meaning and perfection of created life. Klein's book is foundational for a proper understanding of Augustine's angelology and has far-reaching implications not only for Augustinian studies, but also the broader history of Christian angelology.
