Book A Vision Becomes Reality

Download or read book A Vision Becomes Reality written by Karen J. Radke and published by TEACH Services, Inc.. This book was released on with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Vision Becomes Reality is the story of how a Seventh-day Adventist educational institution, West Indies College (now Northern Caribbean University) in Mandeville, Jamaica, collaborated with a Seventh-day Adventist health care institution, Andrews Memorial Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica, to develop and implement the Department of Nursing Education and the first baccalaureate nursing programme in Jamaica. This is the first time the early history of this endeavour has been published. Many individuals provided information on the history of this landmark programme in Jamaica. Without the help of the numerous people involved in the story of the college, hospital, and baccalaureate nursing programme, this account would not have been possible. It is the authors’ hope that the content will provide information on the early history of Seventh-day Adventist higher education and medical work in Jamaica as well as provide a blueprint of the process used in developing what is now Northern Caribbean University Department of Nursing and its baccalaureate nursing programme as it reaches its fiftieth anniversary in 2020. “These authors take us on a journey that shows the faith and courage of visionary administrators [and] teachers…within the Seventh-day Adventist church school system and government institutions, as they provided expertise and direction….A must read….” Beverly Henry, JP, MA, Northern Caribbean University “Radke and Fletcher provide a valuable contribution to archiving the legacy of Adventist nursing education globally which can be described as courageous, innovative, and ahead of national norms.” Patricia S. Jones, PhD, RN, FAAN, General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists “It was rewarding to read of [Hiram Walters and other key persons’] strong faith and to watch a program of such small beginnings flourish…under God's protecting hand. The book closes with comments from former students sharing their…achievements as they moved out into the world to bless others with their healing skills.” June Kimball Strong, prolific author and speaker

Book Seventh Day Adventists Ellen G White and Salvation

Download or read book Seventh Day Adventists Ellen G White and Salvation written by R. Van Orden and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-06-11 with total page 609 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book started out as an intense personal study by the author to evaluate and confirm his beliefs about God and salvation in regard to the teaching of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Why is it that so many Seventh-Day Adventists do not have the assurance of salvation? What criteria in the Bible and what specifically in Ellen G. White's writings might lead someone to believe they were not fit for heaven, that they did not qualify to be there, that God would not forgive them, and there was more required than just relying on Jesus's sacrifice to cover their sins? If they did not meet a strict set of rules, would God cast them aside in the end? In this book, you will find out just who are the saved, who are the lost, and what happens to them in the end and what end-times will look like according to Ellen G. White and the SDA Church. The author estimates he has spent well in excess of ten thousand hours and has read over fifteen thousand pages of material over a seven-year period in the preparation of this book. It is the author's hope and prayer that this book will make the reader question, not their belief in the saving grace of God and the loving sacrifice of Jesus but rather question anything that might have come between them and that grace.

Book Women in leadership

Download or read book Women in leadership written by Silvia Scholtus and published by Editorial de la Universidad Adventista del Plata. This book was released on 2020-11-24 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edition has incorporated some more details about the persons whose life stories are presented. This book exposes a pending debt to fill an existing gap in the historic area. That debt continues to be to recognize the fervour and enthusiasm to communicate the Gospel that guided many women. These women dedicated their lives in a self-sacrificing and laborious way to contribute to establish and strengthen the spreading of the Adventists beliefs in the countries that make up the present South American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This work recounts the story of some of those women. All of them have been women of faith, with their struggles and heartaches, but also with hope and victories in Christ. Their lives, their dedication and their leadership inspired in others an intense longing to be sons and daughters of God. Their passion for doing good and honouring God gave fruits that today leave us indebted to them. It is the author's desire that this book doesn't just fill a historic void, but that it motivates and inspires the development of all the potential of the woman filled with the Spirit of God that she may reflect His grace and mercy towards human beings.

Book Foundational missionaries of south american adventism

Download or read book Foundational missionaries of south american adventism written by Daniel Plenc and published by Editorial de la Universidad Adventista del Plata. This book was released on 2020-11-16 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There was no academic book presenting the biographies of the pioneers of South American Adventism. There were just short devotional works about the experiences of one or more Adventist missionaries. This book showcases the life and work of those who established the Seventh-day Adventist Church in South America. It is a text prepared with historical rigour, true to available sources, spreads the work of Adventist missionaries in these lands and promotes the fulfillment of evangelical mission in present day. However, its contents are presented in an enjoyable and inspiring way. This work contains the biographies of twelve of the foundational missionaries of South American Adventism. The areas in which they contributed to mission are diverse: evangelization, administration, medical work, publishing ministry, educational work and social service. All of them, men and women, adult and young, owning big ideals and a spirit of sacrifice that invite emulation.
