Book The Serial Killer Files

Download or read book The Serial Killer Files written by Paul Simpson and published by Robinson. This book was released on 2017-05-18 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are many myths about serial killers: that they are all dysfunctional loners; all white males; only motivated by sex; that they all travel and operate across a wide area; cannot stop killing; are all insane, or evil geniuses; and that they all want to get caught. Of course, there are some serial killers who fit into these categories, but the married Green River Killer was not a dysfunctional loner; there are plenty of female and non-Caucasian serial killers; Dr Harold Shipman was certainly not motivated by sex; many serial killings (such as the Ipswich prostitute murders carried out by Steve Wright) happen within a confined area; the 'BTK Killer', Dennis Rader, stopped killing in 1991, but wasn't caught until fourteen years later. Many serial killers may have a low animal cunning, or be 'street smart', but few of them are Mensa-level geniuses. Each of the thirty cases covered here is unusual in some respect, perhaps in the way in which the killer carried out their crimes, the choice of victims, the way in which they were apprehended, or the method of their execution. The cases are presented alphabetically by country - from Australia via Colombia, Great Britain, Indonesia, Iran, South Africa and elsewhere to the United States - and then chronologically. They come from across history and from all over the world. The author has gone back as far as possible to contemporary source material - newspaper accounts, trial evidence, interviews with perpetrators or survivors - rather than rely on the increasingly blurred truth to be found online and in far too many collections.

Book The Mammoth Book of Killers at Large

Download or read book The Mammoth Book of Killers at Large written by Nigel Cawthorne and published by C & R Crime. This book was released on 2011-09-01 with total page 512 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reason to be afraid - over 50 unsolved cases of serial murder Fact: murderers and serial killers do not always get caught. Behind every headline of a newsworthy conviction lie other cases of vicious murderers who got away, and who remain somewhere among us. Here in one giant volume are more than 50 of the most serious serial killings and other murder cases that continue to remain unsolved. The cases covered in this alarming book include: " Argentina's crazed highway killer, responsible for mutilating and killing at least five people since 1997, and dumping their bodies along remote highways " The Green River Killer, believed to be a middle-aged white man, who has claimed at least 49 lives to date in the Seattle-Tacoma area " South Africa's 'Phoenix Strangler', suspected of killing 20 women in the province of KwaZulu Natal. " The Twin Cities Killer - either one or several people responsible for a series of over 30 murders on the streets of Minneapolis and St. Paul, where the victims were mostly prostitutes " Costa Rica's elusive 'El Psicópata' (The Psychopath), thought to have murdered at least 19 people in this small quiet Central American country " 'The Monster of Florence', responsible for a series of 15 sexual slayings just outside Florence In each case it is not just the crimes that are horrifying and fascinating, but the response of local police and authorities to the lack of a conviction. Local authorities may fear to admit the continued existence of a serial killer at large; whilst police bodies face the temptation to 'tidy up' loose unsolved murders under the aegis of other admitted crimes.

Book excerpt: Murderers or monsters, normal people turned bad or people born with the desire to kill, it doesn't matter where they come from, serial killers strike dread into our hearts with a single mention of their names. Hunting in broad daylight or stalking from the shadows, we are their prey and their hunt is never done until they are caught or killed. With a worrying number of them living in our communities, working alongside us at our places of employment and sharing the same spaces where we spend time with our families, serial killers are typically just another neighbor that we barely think about. A worrying thought, to be honest.

Book Serial Killers

Download or read book Serial Killers written by Nigel Blundell and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mass murder is dreadful enough, yet that is not sufficient a thrill for those evil monsters for whom the excitement begins once their victims are dead. This book - a companion volume to Serial Killers: The World's Most Evil - deals with multiple murderers who not only slay to slake their perverted pleasures but also mutilate and even cannibalise their victims' bodies. There is nothing new about this, the sickest serial killer of all was Jack the Ripper - and murderous maniacs have been slashing their bloody path through history ever since. A leading forensic psychiatrist describes this syndrome as 'the total annihilation of a human being by another human being willing to trample on this most sacred prohibition in the social code'. These butchers who dismember for pleasure have been the inspiration for the fictional monster of Psycho, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Silence of the Lambs. The killers woh spawned such movies all appear in this book. But, sadly, none of the horrors reported within these pages are fiction. So dare to delve behind the horrifying headlines ... and examine what is in the minds of the world's most murderous, butchering monsters.

This book was released on 2014-06-16 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although incorporated with a fictional character – 'Romeo,' the Valentine Serial Killer – Memoirs of a Serial Killer is otherwise based on true events, the history culled from numerous real-life interviews, court transcripts and eye witness accounts. An unflinching look into the mind of one of the most vicious serial killers in American history, Memoirs of a Serial Killer chronicles the murderous exploits as Romeo, tiring of his boring and normal life as a respected member of the community, takes a 'road trip' – his own code word for a killing rampage – and allows the reader to accompany him on his quest to kill as many women as possible – women that remind him of his mother. Ritually abused by his parents as a child and home-schooled to avoid prosecution, his parents watched in horror as Romeo actually grew stronger with time. Now murderous and robotic, and systematically programmed to do what he was told, regardless of the repercussions, he had forgotten anything and everything he ever wanted; he had been convinced he already had everything he would ever need: the urge to kill. Memoirs of a Serial Killer is a drop dead frontal assault that provokes, rather than patronizes its reader, and is truly the most dangerous kind of true crime genre book in existence, pulling no punches and telling no lies – and narrated by one of the most dangerous men in existence; Romeo could be your next door neighbor, the guy that could be your best friend, but who secretly slaughters women with about as much remorse as Jack the Ripper, robbing, raping, burning and killing, attacking America more like an epidemic plague than a human being.
