Book Modern Methods for the Separation of Rarer Metal Ions

Download or read book Modern Methods for the Separation of Rarer Metal Ions written by Johann Korkisch and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 633 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern Methods for the Separation of Rarer Metal Ions describes several separation methods of more than 50 elements. This book is divided into 19 chapters that include separation methods involving the actinide elements, rare earths, and many rarer elements of the main and transition groups of the periodic table. The introductory chapter discusses the principles of the separation techniques presented in this book. The remaining chapters explore the application of specific separation methods, such as ion exchange, chromatography, liquid-liquid extraction, distillation, and coprecipitation. The approach of each chapter is a presentation of separation principle of an element first followed by numerous examples of applications to the solution of practical problems encountered in separation chemistry. Chapters 2 and 3 examine the separations involving the actinides and rare earth elements using ion exchange and liquid-liquid extraction These are followed by chapters dealing with separations of other rarer elements, which have been arranged according to their position in the periodic table. These elements are: Li, Rb, Cs, Fr, Be, Ra, Ga, In, Tl, Ge, Ag, Au, Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Tc, Re and the platinum metals. This book will be of great use to analytical chemists.

Book The Analytical Chemistry of Indium

Download or read book The Analytical Chemistry of Indium written by A.I. Busev and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Analytical Chemistry of Indium is a compilation of information on the analytical chemistry of indium, a metal that is important in optical and electronics industries and a component of certain alloys. The monograph aims to provide factual material available on the analytical chemistry of indium. The book gives an overview of the history and chemical properties of the element indium. Methods for the detection, separation, and determination of indium, including special methods for its determination in industrial and natural products are likewise discussed and evaluated. The text will be of good use to chemists, physicists, materials engineers, researchers, and students.

Book CRC Handbook of Ion Exchange Resins

Download or read book CRC Handbook of Ion Exchange Resins written by Johann Korkisch and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1988-12-31 with total page 720 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The six-volume CRC Handbook of Ion Exchange Resins reviews the application of ion exchange resins to inorganic analytical chemistry. Extracted from over 6,000 original publications, it presents the information in over 1,000 tables complemented by concise descriptions of analytical methods involving virtually all the elements of the periodic table. Also, the ion exchange characteristics of the elements, as well as other important information required by analysis using ion exchange resins, are presented in separate tables. The methods that allow the multi-element analysis of complex matrices are emphasized. This work includes a general discussion of the theoretical, instrumental, and other principles underlying the various applications of ion exchange resins in inorganic analytical chemistry with special attention focused on techniques based on ion chromatography.

Book N Benzoylphenylhydroxylamine and Its Analogues

Download or read book N Benzoylphenylhydroxylamine and Its Analogues written by A. K. Majumdar and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2017-07-19 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: International Series of Monographs in Analytical Chemistry, Volume 50: N-Benzoylphenylhydroxylamine and its Analogues covers the analytical applications of the organic hydroxylamine derivatives. This book is composed of seven chapters, and starts with a brief historical account of the uses of organic reagents in inorganic analysis. The next chapter discusses some basic physico-chemical factors associated with the constitution of a good reagent, including some fundamental ideas about the type and nature of the principal reactive and other groupings in the ligand. A chapter deals with the inclusion of the methods of preparation and properties of N-benzoylphenylhydroxylamine (BPHA) and its analogues and derivatives, and their reactions with different metal ions. These topics are followed by descriptions of the various types of analytical applications of BPHA and its analogues, such as gravimetry, spectrophotometry, and solvent extraction, as well as their applications in titrimetry and paper chromatography. This book is of value to analytical and organic chemists.
