Book The Secrets of the Silent Tide

Download or read book The Secrets of the Silent Tide written by Joseph C. Wilfred and published by XinXii. This book was released on 2024-02-14 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You can find Burry Inlet on the south coast of Wales. It looks most beautiful from the water. At least, that's what Mr. Morgan was thinking as he sat in the stern sheets of his boat with a fishing line in his hand and watched his son Phoenix drift slowly across the calm water. In fact, on this beautiful autumn evening, the idea would have made a man less easily swayed by patriotism than Mr. Maverick. To make a large body of water, the port opens up when the tide is high. This body of water goes out into the land about ten miles to the east. To the north is the county of Carmarthen, and to the south is the Gower Peninsula. Even though the beaches are flat, there are round hills in the middle of the land that make the landscape look like it's rolling. The gray and yellow sand dunes along the shore are very different from the green fields and forests further inland.

Book excerpt: From the acclaimed author of When Never Comes comes a novel about the pull of the past and the power of love. As offseason begins on the Outer Banks, a storm makes landfall, and three unlikely strangers are drawn together… Five years ago, Lane Kramer moved to Starry Point, North Carolina, certain the quaint island village was the place to start anew. Now the owner of a charming seaside inn, she’s set aside her dreams of being a novelist and of finding love again. When English professor Michael Forrester appears on Lane’s doorstep in the middle of a storm, he claims he’s only seeking a quiet place to write his book. Yet he seems eerily familiar with the island, leaving Lane wondering if he is quite what he appears. Meanwhile, Mary Quinn has become a common sight, appearing each morning on the dunes behind the inn, to stare wistfully out to sea. Lane is surprised to find a friendship developing with the older woman, who possesses a unique brand of wisdom, despite her tenuous grip on reality. As Lane slowly unravels Mary’s story and a fragile relationship between Lane and Michael blooms, Lane realizes the three share a common bond. But when a decades-old secret suddenly casts its shadow over them, Lane must choose between protecting her heart and fighting for the life—and the love—she wants. Conversation Guide Included

When the beautiful and terrified Lucy Adams staggers into Timothy’s office to report a robbery and is asked what was stolen, her reply is, “My family.” Their search for her mixed-race sister and son will plunge Timothy and his feral brother, Valentine, into a world where police are complicit and politics savage, and where corpses appear in the most shocking of places…

Book The Secret People

Download or read book The Secret People written by Melusine Draco and published by John Hunt Publishing. This book was released on 2016-09-30 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Much of what passes for ‘witchcraft’ today was everyday knowledge to our forebears, especially those who lived and worked in the countryside. Here were to be found practical household hints, remedies and family recipes that had been handed down from generation to generation, some still existing in the form of treasured journals and notebooks. There is, however, nothing fanciful or far-fetched about this information - in fact, The Secret People is a remembrance of times past and a preservation of ‘parish-pump witchcraft, wise-women and cunning ways’ adapted for use in the 21st century. It may also go a long way in helping those present-generation pagans in search of an identity and answer the questions: Who ... what am I?
