Book The Secret Diary of a Motel Maintenance Man

Download or read book The Secret Diary of a Motel Maintenance Man written by Donald Boyer and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2009-09-22 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Almost every day theres excitement going from one place to another. Theres been so many things happening here that I really dont know where to begin. If you look at the place as a jam packed full container of messed up people that cant get along with themselves, let alone anyone else, you would see very clearly that waiting for something to happen is a given at any time of the day. Its like watching one of those day time shows that can carry over a phone call from Monday to Friday and maybe they will think of something that will some how cause them to get tired of that crazy bitch that everyone across America knows is a lying, conniving, self centered trouble maker that will stop at nothing to disrupt everyones lives that she touches. Well we have them here too, but their twice as good at it than they are on TV. Im going back a few days to some real excitement. Some illegal Mexicans were staying here and one of them decided to try to rape a 16 year old girl in her own room. He was high on something and really did cause some problems. It was about 4 pm when he just walked in her room and pushed her down on her couch and told her in Spanish that he was going to rape her because she was a hoer and she deserved it. Shes just a young girl with a baby and shes not in any way a hoer. Then she started screaming and her mother just walked around the corner and into the room to see what was going on. The crazed man then went after her and knocked her down. Well, that was a major mistake on his part. She pushed the crazed man out the door and told him never to come back. He just came back in and attacked the mother again. Then some of her teenaged kids saw what was going on and decided to fight the man. Well, then the crazed man ran out the door and down the stairs to the parking lot and ran around the building by the laundry which was another mistake on his part. The mother of the girl hollered to them to catch that man as he ran by the door. Well there are some really crazy women down in the laundry room that would like nothing more that to tear into someone like this asshole. Now for his third mistake, he tried to run rite past these crazy laundry girls thinking that they were just watching and would do nothing to him. AAAA, wrong answer.. As he approached Rosy, he didnt expect her to kick him in his legs and knock him off his feet. He was so high on dope that he didnt even know he was on the ground but he was still running his feet as she tackled him. At that point, he got up and started running again. Now, along comes our littlest laundry lady that was raised with big brothers that used to beat her up until she got older. As the man got close to her, she did a fast knock down on him. He went down faster that a stake in front of a bull dog. When I first saw her, she was holding him down like a roped steer at a rodeo. When I asked her if she needed any help, she told me to just stand back so I dont get hurt so she could handle piece of shit until the cops got there. And I was just about to make my move too...

Thankfully, Green does—and in this incredibly helpful book, she tackles the tough discussions you may need to have during your career. You’ll learn what to say when • coworkers push their work on you—then take credit for it • you accidentally trash-talk someone in an email then hit “reply all” • you’re being micromanaged—or not being managed at all • you catch a colleague in a lie • your boss seems unhappy with your work • your cubemate’s loud speakerphone is making you homicidal • you got drunk at the holiday party Praise for Ask a Manager “A must-read for anyone who works . . . [Alison Green’s] advice boils down to the idea that you should be professional (even when others are not) and that communicating in a straightforward manner with candor and kindness will get you far, no matter where you work.”—Booklist (starred review) “The author’s friendly, warm, no-nonsense writing is a pleasure to read, and her advice can be widely applied to relationships in all areas of readers’ lives. Book Think Like a Monk

    Book Details:
  • Author : Jay Shetty
  • Publisher : Simon & Schuster
  • Release : 2020-09-08
  • ISBN : 1982134488
  • Pages : 352 pages

Download or read book Think Like a Monk written by Jay Shetty and published by Simon & Schuster. This book was released on 2020-09-08 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jay Shetty, social media superstar and host of the #1 podcast On Purpose, distills the timeless wisdom he learned as a monk into practical steps anyone can take every day to live a less anxious, more meaningful life. When you think like a monk, you’ll understand: -How to overcome negativity -How to stop overthinking -Why comparison kills love -How to use your fear -Why you can’t find happiness by looking for it -How to learn from everyone you meet -Why you are not your thoughts -How to find your purpose -Why kindness is crucial to success -And much more... Shetty grew up in a family where you could become one of three things—a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure. His family was convinced he had chosen option three: instead of attending his college graduation ceremony, he headed to India to become a monk, to meditate every day for four to eight hours, and devote his life to helping others. After three years, one of his teachers told him that he would have more impact on the world if he left the monk’s path to share his experience and wisdom with others. Heavily in debt, and with no recognizable skills on his résumé, he moved back home in north London with his parents. Shetty reconnected with old school friends—many working for some of the world’s largest corporations—who were experiencing tremendous stress, pressure, and unhappiness, and they invited Shetty to coach them on well-being, purpose, and mindfulness. Since then, Shetty has become one of the world’s most popular influencers. In 2017, he was named in the Forbes magazine 30-under-30 for being a game-changer in the world of media. In 2018, he had the #1 video on Facebook with over 360 million views. His social media following totals over 38 million, he has produced over 400 viral videos which have amassed more than 8 billion views, and his podcast, On Purpose, is consistently ranked the world’s #1 Health and Wellness podcast. In this inspiring, empowering book, Shetty draws on his time as a monk to show us how we can clear the roadblocks to our potential and power. Combining ancient wisdom and his own rich experiences in the ashram, Think Like a Monk reveals how to overcome negative thoughts and habits, and access the calm and purpose that lie within all of us. He transforms abstract lessons into advice and exercises we can all apply to reduce stress, improve relationships, and give the gifts we find in ourselves to the world. Shetty proves that everyone can—and should—think like a monk.
