Download or read book The Revealing written by Gary L. Huffman and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-05-28 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The pillar and the cloud of Exodus will appear again, in the very last days over Zion. And the Church of Jesus Christ will be a vital part of this brilliant display. Few Christians comprehend the Christian's inheritance to partake of the Divine Nature. To withstand coming persecution and hardship, comprehending our destiny will be indispensable. The Revealing is riveting because it teaches how we must prepare ourselves spiritually for Christ's coming. It offers an inspiring, positive account of the wonderful provision God has made for His children. In short, The Revealing will impact your spiritual life as few books have. Through a detailed study of the Scripture and citing deep teaching from biblical scholars, the authors uncover multiple truths unfamiliar to even the most advanced students of the Bible: -Why is heaven not the believer's ultimate reward? -Why is the New Jerusalem a people and not just a place? -What is our surest motive to persevere through persecution? -Why do tribulations and trials bring us closer to glory? -How does the Hebrew Tabernacle prefigure New Testament teaching on justification, sanctification, and glorification? -What does the Feast of Tabernacles teach about the "afterlife?" -Does the ministry of the Church continue AFTER the Rapture? -Will we appear on the earth during the Great Tribulation? Authors Huffman and Woodward reveal that failing to fathom the riches of God's glory and ignoring the commandment to seek His glory undermines our quest to be "imagers of God." The promise of God's glory - our inheritance - will transform us now. Seemingly improbable, we obtain the glory of God in part when we follow the process and practice to apprehend it, while we focus on Christ and this "precious gift... to be partakers of the divine nature." (2 Peter 1:4) The Revealing unlocks one of the Bible's most vital truths through advancing a comprehensive argument for the pursuit of sanctification and the assurance of God endowing us with glory.

Book The Revealing Image

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Schaverien painstakingly describes and defines "processes which have so far only been intuitively known to art therapists" (p6) by introducing and elaborating the psychoanalytical concepts of transference and countertransference in relation to the use of visual art objects. The authors stated intention in this book is "to attempt to bridge the perceived gap between the practice of art therapy and analytical forms of psychotherapy..."(p 229) The epistemological base of this venture includes the fields of philosophy, anthropology, and aesthetics, as well as psychoanalysis. Schaverien suggests that analytical art psychotherapy is a way of working analytically with patients who are unsuitable, or unready, for psychotherapy, giving examples of psychotic and borderline patients, children, and patients in psychiatric settings. This is primarily a book about an analytical approach within art therapy, which may be of interest in itself. The material also raises issues of interest to analysts and psychotherapists, whether or not they work with art in the clinical setting. The book clarifies areas of similarity between the disciplines, and also makes areas of difference apparent. For example, most analysts would agree that visual art, like dream material, and other non-verbal representations of the inner world, can at times articulate and communicate meanings which for one reason or another cannot be verbally articulated at the time, and that this can be pertinent to the aim of analysis. However, I think few analysts would include facilities in their consulting rooms for the kind of art processes described in the book. When the analyst is working with materials in this form, the book will be extremely helpful in sorting out the complexity of the transference situation and the role of interpretation. The book is so strongly grounded in experiences emerging in the presence of actual art processes and objects that I think it will be of most interest to those who are interested in the specific clinical issues involved in relating to the making and use of actual art objects within the setting. Schaverien not only describes the processes involved in detail, but also presents technical approaches to the making and handling of art objects within the setting which will inform the capacity of those who are not trained as art therapists to relate to this kind of material in the consulting room.'

  • Author : Meggan Watterson

  • Pages : 217 pages

Download or read book Reveal written by Meggan Watterson and published by Hay House, Inc. This book was released on 2013-04-03 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Harvard-trained theologian Meggan Watterson marched out of her church at age ten. With little-girl clarity, she knew something tremendously crucial was missing…the voices of women. Watterson became a theologian and a pilgrim to the divine feminine to find the missing stories and images of women’s spiritual voices. She knew women’s voices had never been silenced, just buried. But what she truly sought was her own spiritual voice inside her—the one veiled beneath years of self-doubt. At a sacred site of the Black Madonna in Europe, Watterson had a revelation that changed her. Rather than transcending the body, denying or ignoring it, being spiritual for her meant accepting her body as sacred. Only then, Watterson realized could she hear the voice of unfaltering love inside her- the voice of her soul. With passion, humor, and brutal honesty, Watterson draws on ancient stories and lesser-known texts of the divine feminine, like The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, making them modern and accessible to reveal the spiritual process she went through. She suggests that being spiritual is simply about stripping down to the truth of who we really are. Through her extensive work with women, Watterson found that she was not alone. There are countless women who long for a spirituality that encourages embodiment rather than denies it, that inspires them to abandon their fears but never themselves, and to be led by the audacious and fiercely loving voice of truth inside them. No matter where you rest on the spectrum of spirituality; religious or secular, devout believer or chronic doubter, freelance mystic or borderline agnostic, this story is about the desire in all of us to want to shed everything that holds us back. Reveal provides what religions have left out—the spiritual voice of a woman who has claimed her body as sacred—a woman who has found the divine insider her. In essence, this is a manual for revealing your soul. "I have spent the majority of my life gathering stories of the divine feminine. Each time before getting my masters degrees in theology and divinity, I went on a pilgrimage to sacred sites of the divine feminine throughout Europe. The first one was with a group and the second was on my own… The stories of the divine feminine, of Christianity’s Mary Magdalene, Catholicism’s Black Madonna, Hinduism’s Kali ma, and Buddhism’s Green Tara for example, allowed me to begin to see that I wasn’t as much of a spiritual misfit as I had thought. There was a red thread that became visible to me that ran through so many of the world religions, especially through their mystics, relating that the way to find the divine is to go within. And, that our potential to be transformed by going inward is exactly the same whether we are a man or a woman. The real barometer of our spiritual potential is not our sex, but the commitment of our desire to want to encounter the divine." Excerpt from Reveal

Book Ren Magritte

Download or read book Ren Magritte written by Xavier Canonne and published by Thames & Hudson. This book was released on 2017 with total page 167 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A richly illustrated book that dives into Ren Magritte's photo and film archive, revealing a lesser-known side of the surrealist master. In this richly illustrated book, Xavier Canonne, director of the Museum of Photography in Charleroi, dives into Ren Magritte's photo and film archive, revealing a lesser-known side of the surrealist master. Discovered in the 1970s, more than ten years after the artist's death, this collection gives us access to a family album, an informal Magritte, from his childhood to the last years of his life. We see Magritte with his parents and brothers, as a newly married man with his wife Georgette, and with his contemporaries in the Brussels Surrealist group. Spontaneous snapshots are complemented by posed scenes, including improvised tableaux with his fellow artists, parodies of famous movies consciously arranged with Georgette, portraits of Magritte at his easel at home, and staged photographs as models for his paintings. Images where the artist and his friends hide their faces or turn away from the camera particularly resonate with his paintings and his investigation of the 'hidden visible'. While other Surrealists such as Man Ray and Raoul Ubac made photography an essential part of their work, Magritte remained a true painter. Yet this book demonstrates that his photographs and home movies are so pervaded with his spirit that they are inseparable from his oeuvre of paintings.
