Book Love between Equals

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Learn how to successfully negotiate conflicts and deepen our most intimate relationships in this practical and thoughtful guide by an experienced Buddhist teacher, psychotherapist, and couples counselor. A committed relationship, as most people see it today, is a partnership of equals who share values and goals, a team united by love and dedicated to each other’s growth on every level. This contemporary model for coupledom requires real intention and work, and, more often than not, the traditional archetypes of relationships experienced by our parents and grandparents fail us or seem irrelevant. Utilizing the wisdom of her years of personal and professional practice, Young-Eisendrath dismantles our idealized projections about love, while revealing how mindfulness and communication can help us identify and honor the differences with our partners and strengthen our bonds. These practical and time-tested guidelines are rooted in sound understanding of modern psychology and offer concrete ideas and the necessary tools to reinforce and reinvigorate our deepest relationships.

Book excerpt: Safe People will help you discover why good people can get tangled in bad relationships, how to avoid repeating your own mistakes, and how to pick safe, healthy people for the friends you make and the company you keep. Too many of us have invested in relationships that have gone wrong. Maybe you've been judged, manipulated, or controlled. Or maybe you've trusted the wrong people in the past. It's easy to make the same mistakes of judgment over and over--or, worse, to give up on trying to have great, authentic relationships again. But it doesn't have to be that way. In Safe People, Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend teach you that being with an unsafe person can be damaging to your confidence, your trust in others, and even your health. You'll learn that you have the power to surround yourself with accepting, honest, and safe people who draw you closer to being the person God intended you to be. Drs. Cloud and Townsend, authors of the New York Times bestseller Boundaries, are here to share the lessons they've learned in their years of practicing psychology and studying the patterns and practices that support clear, biblical boundaries. In Safe People, they offer guidance for making safe choices in all of your day-to-day relationships, from family and friends to colleagues and partners. Safe People will give you the tools you need to recognize what makes people relationally safe, form positive relationships, and even become a safe person along the way. Drs. Cloud and Townsend share expert insights that will help you ask important questions: How can I learn to pick better friends? Why do I choose people who let me down? How did I end up with this critical boss? How do I attract irresponsible people? Why did I invest money with that unscrupulous person? What is it about me that draws the wrong types of people to me? Why am I drawn to the wrong types of people? It's time to revitalize your connections and finally start enjoying the healthy, balanced relationships that you deserve.

Book The Relationship Between Knowledge Transfer Team Learning and Project Success in the Information Technology Field

Download or read book The Relationship Between Knowledge Transfer Team Learning and Project Success in the Information Technology Field written by Dixie D. O’Connell Overton, PhD and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-02-26 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Project management is a growing field, and is expanding to more industries; however, it still faces the same challenges it did decades ago. There is a lack of understanding and recognition of how knowledge is shared and how knowledge sharing can help project teams accomplish successful outcomes. Without knowledge transfer and sharing, organizations fail to continue practices that worked well and fail to discontinue those that resulted in errors or rework. The research presented in this book builds on the theories of organizational learning, knowledge management, and dynamic capabilities. Data was obtained through a quantitative survey from project professionals working on information technology (IT) projects in the United States. The goal of this study was to gain an understanding of the influence of knowledge transfer in IT projects that contributes to project success. Results and conclusions should be of benefit to project managers in all industries.

Book 40 Days of Dating

Download or read book 40 Days of Dating written by Timothy Goodman and published by ABRAMS. This book was released on 2015-01-20 with total page 586 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “What would happen if Harry met Sally in the age of Tinder and Snapchat? . . . A field guide to Millennial dating in New York City” (New York Daily News). When New York–based graphic designers and long-time friends Timothy Goodman and Jessica Walsh found themselves single at the same time, they decided to try an experiment. The old adage says that it takes forty days to change a habit—could the same be said for love? So they agreed to date each other for forty days, record their experiences in questionnaires, photographs, videos, texts, and artworks, and post the material on a website they would create for this purpose. What began as a small experiment between two friends became an Internet sensation, drawing five million unique (and obsessed) visitors from around the globe to their site and their story. 40 Days of Dating: An Experiment is a beautifully designed, expanded look at the experiment and the results, including a great deal of material that never made it onto the site, such as who they were as friends and individuals before the forty days and who they have become since.

Marriage is your most sacred relationship on this earth, and prayer is the single most powerful way to transform it. It's time to learn the relational truths in the legend of Honi the Circle Maker--a man bold enough to draw a circle in the sand and not leave it until God answered his impossible prayer. The commitment made in the sacred circle of marriage requires the same kind of boldness and resolve as the Circle Maker. Honi's prayer saved a generation, and your prayers can transform your relationship. Praying Circles around Your Marriage draws from the life-changing principles Mark Batterson outlines in his New York Times bestseller The Circle Maker. Joined by Pastor Joel and Nina Schmidgall who serve with Mark at National Community Church, the authors draw from personal stories, Scripture, and practical insight. You'll discover seven key prayer circles for your marriage: Vision Circle, Romance Circle, War Circle, Dance Circle, Support Circle, Storm Circle, and Legacy Circle. Through these circles you will: Discover your shared vision and find a new combined purpose together Turn the tables on conflict and access the gift of being known Be a student of your spouse and ensure a connected and intimate relationship Build a foundation for your marriage that will help you weather the trials that are sure to come Learn to draw a larger circle around your marriage so that your unified purpose can be a blessing to others Bold prayers honor God, and God honors bold prayers. Praying Circles around Your Marriage will empower you and your spouse to identify your greatest dreams for the most important relationship in your life, and pray the kind of audacious prayers in which God finds delight. After all, your life together has a legacy to leave for future generations. It's time to start circling.

Book NASA DOD Aerospace Knowledge Diffusion Research Project Report 6 The Relationship Between the Use of US Government Technical Reports by US Aerospace Engineers and Scientists and Selected Institutional and Sociometric Variables

Download or read book NASA DOD Aerospace Knowledge Diffusion Research Project Report 6 The Relationship Between the Use of US Government Technical Reports by US Aerospace Engineers and Scientists and Selected Institutional and Sociometric Variables written by and published by DIANE Publishing. This book was released on 1991 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A study was undertaken that investigated the relationship between the use of U.S. government technical reports by U.S. aerospace engineers and scientists and selected institutional and sociometric variables. Survey research is the methodology used for the study. Data were collected by means of a self- administered mail questionnaire. The approximately 34 000 members of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) served as the study population. The response rate for the survey was 70 percent. A dependent relationship was found to exist between the use of U.S. government technical reports and three of the institutional variables (academic preparation, years of professional aerospace work experience, and technical discipline). The use of U.S. government technical reports was found to be independent of all of the sociometric variables. The institutional variables best explain the use of U.S. government technical reports by U.S. aerospace engineers and scientists.
