Book The Reality of Christianity Being a Christian Believer

Download or read book The Reality of Christianity Being a Christian Believer written by Lida and published by Dog Ear Publishing. This book was released on 2019-04-17 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What-The-What Is Going On At Church Have you ever been in a room and everyone is smiling but you’re not. You feel as though something is missing and wrong? Today people are esteeming culture, tradition, and ethnicity above the Church with lukewarm standards and dismissal of any Scripture that requires humility, meekness, and change in character and behavior. The Church is missing accountability for Righteous living. You know there is confusion when people try to make Christianity synonymous with other religions. People are trying to merge Christianity with other ideologies and beliefs, in order to substantiate lifestyle choices, root comes from the pit of Hell. Christianity is unique and set apart from all other faiths and religions. Christianity has the GODhead; a personal Saviour, Jesus Christ (fully GOD and fully human), the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit inside of Christian-Believers, and GOD the Father who is the mastermind over all things living and non-living. The GODhead is all power, all present, and all knowing. As Christian-Believers, we must come out of complacency to be an example of Jesus Christ to the world because people are lost. They need to know about the path of Christianity to the GODhead. Christianity is the way to bring order to all of this chaos and show the right path to everlasting life. I pray that this book will bring you to the Cross and strengthen your walk in Christianity. Motivate yourself to put Faith N Motion and begin to show What-The-What you are doing by Faith because without Faith it is impossible to please GOD. This book is written by Faith.

Book Why Christianity Is Probably True

Download or read book Why Christianity Is Probably True written by BRIAN. HARRIS and published by Paternoster Publishing. This book was released on 2020-09-04 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When the New Atheists famously coined the phrase 'There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life, ' they implicitly suggested that it was no longer reasonable to believe in God. Brian Harris tackles three of the most common accusations made against the Christian faith, namely that Christianity is intellectually vacuous, morally suspect and experientially empty. He looks at each accusation in turn, outlining the issue in the first chapter of each section, then looking at evidence against the claim before evaluating the argument as a whole. He is clear that he is not trying to 'prove' that Christianity is true as he acknowledges that absolute proof is impossible in this life, and in reality there are many tough and challenging questions to be faced - whether you are a Christian believer, a believer in another faith, an agnostic or an atheist. This book explores these questions in a rigorous but accessible way. It doesn't offer easy, solve everything answers, but it does build a cumulative case based on reason, history and experience to suggest that God probably exists, and that the Christian understanding of God could well be valid.

Book excerpt: "I love everything that Scott Sauls writes." -- Christine Caine What if Christians became the best advertisement for Jesus? Jesus said his followers would be a light to the world and a city on a hill--a warmly inviting, neighbor-loving, grace- and truth-filled destination for all. He envisioned his followers as life-giving neighbors, bosses, employees, and friends, the kind of people who return insults with kindness and persecution with prayers. Rooted in biblical convictions, they would extend love, empathy, and care to one another as well as to those who don't share their beliefs. Over time their movement would become irresistible to every nation, tribe, and tongue. Irresistible Faith is a blueprint for pursuing this vision in our current moment, of redeemed individuals and a renewed community working for a restored world. This is a way of being that gives a tired, cynical world good reason to pause and reconsider Christianity--and to start wishing it was true. "I miss the kind of church Scott describes in this book, and I don’t think I am alone." -- Donald Miller, author of Blue Like Jazz and Building a StoryBrand "An important call to resist the urge to lobby and position ourselves, but rather to be driven by gospel-powered love." -- Raechel Myers, founder and CEO of She Reads Truth "An antidote to much that is wrong with our Western, American version of Christianity. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For anyone who feels caught in the tension between the beauty of God's story and the ugliness of human hypocrisy, Why I Still Believe offers a stirring story of hope. Why would anyone be a Christian when there is so much hypocrisy in the church? Mary Jo Sharp shares her journey as a skeptical believer who still holds to a beautiful faith despite wounding experiences in the Christian community. At a time when de-conversion stories have become all too common, this is an earnest response - the compelling conversion of an unlikely believer whose questions ultimately led her to irresistible hope. Sharp addresses her own struggle with the reality that God's people repeatedly give God's story a bad name and takes a careful look at how the current church often inadvertently produces atheists despite its life-giving message. For those who feel the ever-present tension between the beauty of salvation and the dark side of human nature, Why I Still Believe is a candid and approachable case for believing in God when you really want to walk away. With fresh and thoughtful insights, this spiritual narrative presents relevant answers to haunting questions like: Isn't there too much pain and suffering to believe? Is it okay to have doubt? What if Jesus' story is a copy of another story? Is there any evidence for Jesus' resurrection? Does atheism explain the human experience better than Christianity can? How can the truth of Christianity matter when the behaviors of Christians are reprehensible? At once logical and loving, Sharp reframes the gospel as it truly is: the good news of redemption. With firmly grounded truths, Why I Still Believe is an affirming reminder that the hypocrisy of Christians can never negate the transforming grace and truth of Christ.

  • Pages : 160 pages

Download or read book The Whole Christ written by Sinclair B. Ferguson and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2016-01-14 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the days of the early church, Christians have struggled to understand the relationship between two seemingly contradictory concepts in the Bible: law and gospel. If, as the apostle Paul says, the law cannot save, what can it do? Is it merely an ancient relic from Old Testament Israel to be discarded? Or is it still valuable for Christians today? Helping modern Christians think through this complex issue, seasoned pastor and theologian Sinclair Ferguson carefully leads readers to rediscover an eighteenth-century debate that sheds light on this present-day doctrinal conundrum: the Marrow Controversy. After sketching the history of the debate, Ferguson moves on to discuss the theology itself, acting as a wise guide for walking the path between legalism (overemphasis on the law) on the one side and antinomianism (wholesale rejection of the law) on the other.

Book A New Vision of Reality

Download or read book A New Vision of Reality written by Bede Griffiths and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author invites us to look afresh at Christianity in the context of modern physics on the one hand and Eastern mysticism on the other. Scientists now acknowledge that quantitative enquiry can reveal only one aspect of reality and to come to terms with a much deeper transcendent reality we must also be prepared to learn from Eastern traditions. The Western machanistic model of the universe, dating from the time of Galileo and Newton, must now be replaced with a new organic model -- this marks a return to the ancient traditional wisdom in which the universe was seen to consist not only of a physical dimension but also of psychological and spiritual dimensions, all of which are interrelated and interdependent. In exploring "the divine mystery behind human life" the author seeks to discover the basic unity which underlies all religion and discusses the concept of the Cosmic Person or Cosmic Lord as revealed in Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam. He concludes that a radical vision of a new society and a universal religion in which "the essential values of Christianity will be preserved in living relationship with the other religious traditions of the world."
