Book Australia the Real Timeline

Download or read book Australia the Real Timeline written by Dr. Bill Duckshover and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2017-05-18 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Australias original inhabitants are acknowledged as the oldest continuous living civilization known in the world, dating back some forty thousand years. Living in isolation of the rest of the world on their island continent, they evolved a unique culture of harmonious existence based on totally respected, strictly acknowledged territorial boundaries and mutually accepted laws, which were self-regulating. There was no need for governments, armies, police, or jails; and yet they lived a relatively peaceful existence. Anthropological evidence reveals the arrival of international migrants some four thousand years ago. This story explores the distinct possibility that this connection could have led to the introduction of advanced technology that, if adopted and exploited by the locals, would have resulted in a totally different Australia back in 1770 when Captain Cook arrived, intent on claiming this land for his king and country. Maitland sends Cecil along with The Enforcer and Old Faithful down onto the beach to greet the landing party and inform the good captain and his mates that they are not welcome and that perhaps it would be in their best interests to leave. But Cookys not having a bar of it, and, well, rather than spoil a good story . . . nuff said.

Book Up and Down the Real Australia

Download or read book Up and Down the Real Australia written by Arthur W. Upfield and published by ETT Imprint. This book was released on 2018-10-01 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Arthur William Upfield is well known as the creator of Detective Inspector Napoleon Bonaparte (Bony) who features in 29 crime detection novels, most set in the Australian outback. It is not well known that he also wrote about 250 short stories and articles, drawing on his experiences in the bush between 1911 and 1931. Up and Down the Real Australia is the second published collection of Upfield's short works. Kees de Hoog has selected 45 autobiographical articles, ranging from humorous outback anecdotes to personal experiences at Gallipoli and the Somme during the First World War. Kees has added The Murchison Murders, Upfield's account of how the "perfect murder" was developed for his second Bony novel, The Sands of Windee; how Snowy Rowles used it to commit at least one, probably three, murders om 1929; how the crime was solved; and what happened at Rowles' trial in 1932.

Book Dark Emu

  • Author : Bruce Pascoe
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2015-10-01
  • ISBN : 9781922142436
  • Pages : 176 pages

Download or read book Dark Emu written by Bruce Pascoe and published by . This book was released on 2015-10-01 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dark Emu puts forward an argument for a reconsideration of the hunter-gatherer tag for pre-colonial Aboriginal Australians. The evidence insists that Aboriginal people right across the continent were using domesticated plants, sowing, harvesting, irrigating and storing - behaviors inconsistent with the hunter-gatherer tag. Gerritsen and Gammage in their latest books support this premise but Pascoe takes this further and challenges the hunter-gatherer tag as a convenient lie. Almost all the evidence comes from the records and diaries of the Australian explorers, impeccable sources.

Book Real Property in Australia

Download or read book Real Property in Australia written by Michael J. Hefferan and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-08-17 with total page 359 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Real property in the form of investment, ownership and use pervades almost every aspect of daily lives and represents over 40% of Australia’s wealth. Such assets do not exist in isolation – they are dynamic and forever evolving, impacted by a range of physical, economic, demographic, legal and other forces. Consequently, a true appreciation of individual assets and of the property sector as a whole demands an understanding of both the assets themselves and the context and markets in which they exist. The sector is complex and, on the face of it, confusing. It is however, not without logic and underlying themes and principles. This book provides a wider understanding of how the real property sector works. It covers topics such as the nature of real property and its functions, economic drivers, valuation principles, legal and tenure parameters, property taxation, land development and subdivision, asset and property management and sustainability – all critical components in this complex and critically important sector. It provides a wide and balanced perspective for experienced practitioners, investors, students and anyone involved in property decision-making or wishing to secure a deeper understanding of these areas. The book integrates research-based theory with practical application and first-hand insights into a sector that underpins the Australian economy, its communities and its sustainability.
