Book excerpt: The author's parents and grandparents and several aunts, as far back as he remembers, frequently told him to finish school and go to college to learn the skill of a lawyer. That was due to Paul's excellent memory and inquisitive mind. They believed that Paul could help a lot of people. Paul had every intent on fulfilling the dreams of his parents and grandparents but the tables turned and trouble at school started to aggrandize so he dropped out of high school. Paul's cousin Farley introduced him to the dope game when he was about fourteen years old. Mr. Claude W. Austin Jr. the author's father purchased all instruments for a band since he had five sons. He thought maybe they would pick them up and take it to success. The younger brothers, Claude Jr., and Dallas learned to play some of the instruments. Book excerpt: The author’s parents and grandparents and several aunts, as far back as he remembers frequently told him to finish school and go to college to learn the skill of a lawyer. That was due to Paul’s excellent memory and inquisitive mind; and to become a lawyer they believed that Paul could help a lot of people! Paul had every intent on fulfilling the dreams of his parents and grandparents but the tables turned and trouble at school started to aggrandize so he dropped out of high school. Paul’s cousin, Farley, introduced him to the dope game when he was about fourteen years old. Mr. Claude W. Austin, Jr., the author’s father purchased all instruments for a band; having five sons perhaps he perceived that they would pick them up and take it to success. The younger brothers, Claude Jr., and Dallas, learned to play some of the instruments. And even though Paul could sing very well, he found selling drugs more interesting. When Paul was about eighteen, he met a former prostitute that was about thirty-three and she often talked about some of the things that the pimp was popular for and had her and the other hookers carrying out. Elaine was working a 9 to 5 job and she invited Paul to move in with her and she pledged to take care of him!! But by then, Paul had realized that he was a Casanova, and therefore he wasn’t gonna allow one woman to corral him!!! Paul’s idea on pimping came from Elaine.

Book Injustice N Georgia

Download or read book Injustice N Georgia written by Paul J. Austin and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-05-02 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neoslavery, Injustice, Genocide, Racism, and Hate live in the bosom chest of the people behind the prison industry complex here in antediluvian times. Wrong turn, Georgia! Particularly the police, legislators, judges, district attorneys, prosecutors, prison officials, pardon and paroles board officials, the Governor, and most so-called defense attorneys, just to name a few! And the people that they are endeavoring to extirpate and remove from the planet altogether is the BLACK MAN! I am apperception that to some the aforementioned may sound bizarre and unconventional. But its the unadulterated truth. We must remember that Georgia assiduously fought to maintain CHATTEL-SLAVERY! And they were the last to enter into the UNION! And they boldly stressed that the South will rise again. And it has. I maintain that the Federal Government has entered into a Klandestine-Konspiracy with Georgias pernicious and flagitious officials, which is to allow the officials to execute their Neoslavery via their prison industry complex. I submit to you that you will visit in this book in Technicolor vivid accounts of Assault, Murder, Cover-Ups, Sex Scandals, Racketeering, Discrimination, and other egregious injustices by the aforementioned officials! Which is carried out against convicts and inmates. And you can believe the beforehand or not, but the pardons and paroles board officials operate with impunity and diplomatic immunity! And they have more POWER than the President of the United States! The BLACK MAN is the majority in any prison or jail in the United States. And thats both federal and state. Moreover, the aforementioned is not an accident! It is the wholly quintessence of a proficient Klandestine Konspiracy to eradicate the BLACK MAN! It is also called a Sophisticated-Genocide-Plan! And let it be overstood that to destroy the Black Man is also the demise of the BLACK WOMAN! Because the Black Woman cannot exist without the Black Man! Paul J. Austin

Book The Creation evolution Controversy

Download or read book The Creation evolution Controversy written by R. L. Wysong and published by Wysong Institute. This book was released on 1976 with total page 472 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who has not wondered about the origin of the universe and life? And, for certain, this is a question that should be taken with the utmost seriousness and sense of duty. After all, how can we know why we are here or what we should be doing if we do not know where we came from?Although religions have their belief (creation), and materialists have their belief(evolution), beliefs are not what truth is about. This is a book of daring adventure between these two emotionally charged belief systems. Rather than advocate, Dr. Wysong pits one belief against the other using the only weapons that should be used if truth is the objective: reason and evidence.Dr. Wysong's rational, philosophic, and scientific probings make this book a reservoir of thoughtful and factual information that will not draw dust on your bookshelf. Now in its thirteenth printing, this seminal 1975 book has been read worldwide, is widely cited on the web, and continues to be used in schools. It has helped lay the groundwork for a rational dialogue between religion and science and remains current to this day because of its even handed treatment of the subject and because reason should never fall out of fashion.

Book Crisis Controversy and the Future of Religious Education

Download or read book Crisis Controversy and the Future of Religious Education written by L. Philip Barnes and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-12-05 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Crisis, Controversy and the Future of Religious Education sets out to provide a much-needed critical examination of recent writings that consider and respond to the crisis in religious education and more widely to a crisis in non-confessional forms of religious education, wherever practised. The book is critical, wide-ranging and provocative, giving attention to a range of responses, some limited to the particular situation of religious education in England and some of wider application, for example, that of the role and significance of human rights and that of the relevance of religious studies and theology to religious education. It engages with a variety of positions and with recent influential reports that make recommendations on the future direction of religious education. Constructively, it defends both confessional and non-confessional religious education and endorses the existing right of parental withdrawal. Controversially, it concludes that the case for including non-religious worldviews in religious education, and for the introduction of a statutory, ‘objective’ national religious education curriculum for all schools, are both unconvincing on educational, philosophical and evidential grounds. Timely and captivating, this book is a must-read for religious and theological educators, RE advisers, classroom teachers, student teachers and those interested in the field of religious education.

Book The Book of Luke

    Book Details:
  • Author : Luther Campbell
  • Publisher : HarperCollins
  • Release : 2015-08-04
  • ISBN : 0062336436
  • Pages : 221 pages

Download or read book The Book of Luke written by Luther Campbell and published by HarperCollins. This book was released on 2015-08-04 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Born in Miami's notorious Liberty City, Luther Campbell witnessed poverty, despair, and crime firsthand. His uncle Ricky did not want him trapped by the "invisible chains" of systemic racism, so Ricky schooled him on the necessity of a black man running his own life, controlling his livelihood, and owning property. Embracing these lessons, Campbell discovered his gift for entrepreneurship: He created one of the first hip-hop record companies, Luke Records, which started out of a shed in his mom's backyard and grew into a multimillion-dollar enterprise. As a rapper on his own label, Luke became known as the "King of Dirty Rap" and helped pioneer the worldwide phenomenon of Miami Bass. He went on to become the front man and manager for the rap group 2 Live Crew, and was key to the success of the group's controversial platinum recording As Nasty As They Wanna Be. His hugely popular and provocative music infuriated the Man, and Luke was marked as public enemy number one when hip-hop crossed the color line into white America. Campbell would spend more than a million dollars of his own money fighting cops and prosecutors, and he went all the way to the Supreme Court to protect his—and every other artist's—right to free speech, setting landmark legal precedents that continue to shape the entertainment industry to this day. In Campbell's clear and honest voice, he shares unforgettable stories of his rise to celebrity status, including illicit tales from his raunchy concerts. He also breaks down how he lost his fortune, but in the process gained a better perspective on life. His father taught him to be responsible for his actions and to be proud of himself. Campbell expressed this by being cocky and holding his head up high, but, as he acknowledges, "America has never been an easy place for a black man who doesn't know how to apologize." Touching on some of the most pressing issues of our time, The Book of Luke is a raw and powerful memoir of how one man invented southern hip-hop, saved the First Amendment, and became a role model for the disenfranchised people of the city he calls home.

Book From Theology to History French Religious Controversy and the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes

Download or read book From Theology to History French Religious Controversy and the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes written by Elisabeth Israels Perry and published by Springer. This book was released on 1974-02-28 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Toutes ces belles contro¥erses Sur les religions di¥erses N'ont jamais produit aucun bien: Chacun s' anime pour la sienne; Et que fait-on pour la chretienne? On dispute, et l'on ne fait rien. - Saint-E¥remond, 1614-1703. This book asserts, contrary to Saint-E¥remond, that religious controversy on the eve of the Enlightenment was far from sterile or antichristian. In reconstructing a French religious debate of the era of the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, it shows how the debate allowed both lay and clerical thinkers of the late seventeenth century to discuss the critical issues of their own day. The Revocation era was an era of crisis not only for French Protestantism, but for Protestantism in general: the final acts of the English Revolution were played out during these years, and the northern maritime alliance against the Catholic Louis XIV took shape. The Revocation era was also a period of exciting intellectual ferment in religion, morality, politics and science. Although the topic of the religious debate in France was historical - the history of the Reformation, the discussion of the topic reflected both the crisis and ferment of the times.

Book Make Believing the World s

Download or read book Make Believing the World s written by Mark S. McLeod-Harrison and published by McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP. This book was released on 2009 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While it is often thought that a serious theism is largely incompatible with a radical ontological pluralism, Mark McLeod-Harrison defends the claim that ontological relativism not only requires theism but is consistent with traditional Christianity. Building primarily on the work of Nelson Goodman and Michael Lynch, McLeod-Harrison spells out what is right and what is missing from contemporary pluralism. Proposing a new defence, he explains the need for God and shows how and why radical relativistic pluralism is consistent with traditional Christianity. He also explores how pluralism can be defended against the notorious "consistency challenge" and analyses the relationships among noetic irrealism, pluralism, necessity, God's nature, theories of truth, and idealism. Philosophers working in the field of realistic/antirealistic metaphysics, theologians struggling with how to put traditional Christian claims together with our postmodern situation, and those interested in a new framework For The integration of faith and theorizing will findMake/Believing the World(s)of great interest.
