W The Seventh Exhibition will be held near Chicago, Illinois, Sept. 12 - 17, 1859. A report was required on no less than fifty-seven heads, relating chiefly to geography, natural and civil history, agricul ture and mineralogy, together with several others purely statis tical. It is evident from these queries, that Philip wished to gain a knowledge of the internal state of his kingdom but Mr Townsend was not able to find out any papers containing the corresponding answers; and, as no notice of the inquiry is taken by any of the historians of the period, it is probable that the scheme was never generally followed out.
