Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More than 500 conundrums, mind-benders, and mathematical teasers will help puzzle fans push their IQ levels to the maximum. Visualize this collection as a ladder into the stratosphere of intelligence: 20 levels of ascending difficulty each contain a variety of numerical and alphabetical questions that tease and stimulate the brain. Start from the beginning, with Level One, and work methodically through to the end. Think logically, rationally, and laterally when unraveling these, and watch for emerging patterns that make solving the later problems easier. Resist the temptation to look at the answers (all at the end), and when you're stumped, try to look at the puzzle from a different perspective--that's how to sharpen the wits and train the mind.

Book Will Shortz s Puzzlemaster Workout

Download or read book Will Shortz s Puzzlemaster Workout written by Will Shortz and published by . This book was released on 2012-09-18 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Each section of this book offers 22 puzzle types, with similar puzzle types grouped together and several puzzles referring to a tutorial in the back of the book. Hints help readers through sticking points, and at the bottom of each puzzle page a note tells readers where to find the solution for that puzzle. Solutions are provided in an interweaving order, so readers are unlikely to accidentally see the answer to the previous or subsequent puzzle. Finally, each puzzle has three target times next to it: "Par" for a best guess on how long an average solver will take; "Expert" for how long an average participant at the WPC would take; and the "Record" time, the best time logged among all of our testers. These times are, of course, just for fun, but if you find yourself achieving the "Expert" time regularly, we highly recommend trying your country's national championships!
