This is the earliest notice we have of out-door Psalmody: it was, however, In connection with worship. We are told afterwards by the same historian, that the reading of the Proclamation against the Queen of Scots in London, 1586, was accompanied by ringing of bells, making of bonfires, and singing of Psalms, in every one of the streets and lanes of the City.
