Book The Prophetic Matrix in Christ

Download or read book The Prophetic Matrix in Christ written by Catherine Brown and published by Catherine Brown. This book was released on 2024-02-08 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The Prophetic Matrix (in Christ)” is intended to be a practical teaching book using the Scriptures, what I have learned in 27+ years of ministry in churches throughout the nations, my experience as a mentor and discipler, my experience as a founding director and team member of our ministry, and my ministry knowledge as a servant apostle who teaches and preaches the word of God … and occasionally … has dreams, operates in discernment, and prophesies. I will be sharing teaching from Scripture, ministry experience, and testimonies, and along the way we will examine in much more detail the gift of prophecy, the matrix of prophecy within the New Testament, the role of New Testament prophecy and prophets, and how prophets can work together with apostles and other fivefold ministry gifts. Most importantly we will comprehend the importance of revelation, which Apostle Paul defines separately from prophecy (see 1 Corinthians 14:6). Through this process we will lay a foundation of Scriptural truth and Christological application that will help to bring the church into alignment with God’s heart concerning the gift of prophecy. It’s supernatural! The five offices (or ascension gifts) that Apostle Paul speaks of in Ephesians Chapter 4, verse 11, are given for the work of the ministry and to mature the church; our greatest ministry here on earth is to know Christ, and to make Christ known. On this positive and thought-provoking foundation, let’s take a deep dive in the Word together to re-examine old truths, and establish new truth in Christ about the New Testament gift of prophecy and other gifts given by the Holy Spirit. We will consider them in individual and corporate application; as well as in the church and in the marketplace.

Book The Maximized Prophets and Intercessor s Matrix

Download or read book The Maximized Prophets and Intercessor s Matrix written by Cornelius Williams and published by . This book was released on 2020-08-04 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prophet Cornelius Williams understands the value of prophetic ministry and prayer in these perilous times. He is aware that prophetics is for the interpreting of God's eschatological will, as well as pointing men to Christ. He knows that prayer helps to make a stronger prophet, and that the prayer warrior and the prophet is stronger together especially when they comprehend each other's biblical attributes. His aim is to bring balance to the function of the prophetic, and to make prayer exciting, simple, realistic and results oriented. While there are many books of this nature widely available. He feels his contribution is to help one maximize their understanding of prophesying and the purpose it serves the New Testament believer without mysticism. His philosophy is reaching the center of field by answering questions that bridge misconceptions with irrefutable biblical truths. He realizes there are many prophetic and prayer movements, where some have established theological predicates becoming creeds that have appeased the populous. However, the angle of this work is to incite prophetic and praying people to choose the Holy Bible as the basis of their operation and understanding so they might experience more prophetical accuracy, by developing a crave for systematic theology that will again restore the dignity of prophetic ministry as well as gain results in prayer. The reason this is called a "maximized matrix" is simply for this on reason. It is to turn the reader to our Lord and Christ, so that he can be the nature of prophecy and prayer for all who are intrigued or influenced by such ministry.

Book Preaching Like the Prophets

Download or read book Preaching Like the Prophets written by Robert A. Carlson and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2017-02-08 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Old Testament prophets are a neglected treasury of biblical examples for pastoral preaching. Too often the prophets are misunderstood as focusing on future or social justice issues. This book shows that the prophets are essentially preachers--very good ones--whom we must learn from. By comparing recent rhetorical analysis of the prophets to some of the best of current preaching literature, this book shows that the prophets preached the way that we ought to preach. It will help you to hear the prophets the same way that a pastor benefits from listening to a seasoned and exceptionally gifted preacher. We can benefit not only from what the prophets say but how they say it. By seeing how the prophets grab and keep their listeners, how they enhance clarity and relevancy, how they make truth come alive and how they persevere in their ministry, you too can learn to preach like the prophets.

Download or read book Of Heroes and Villains written by D. Keith Campbell and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2013-08-05 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gripping stories, whether modern or ancient, always include heroes and villains. The Synoptic Gospels, chock full of villains (religious leaders and others) in pursuit of an emerging hero (Jesus), are no different. Drawing first-century Jews into their familiar past and beckoning modern readers to join in its appreciation, these writers employ a literary tactic that intensifies this conflict; they depict these characters as Old Testament heroes and villains. To enter this fascinating, intertextual character portrayal, this book, in building on eighty years of lament studies, advances our understanding of the Synoptists's literary and rhetorical use of the Psalmic Lament in relation to other Old Testament motifs to characterize Jesus and his opponents. Other contributions made along the way, including insights into the Synoptists's literary appropriation of Isaiah's Servant, are all geared toward helping us better understand how Matthew, Mark, and Luke characterize their hero and villains.

Book Prophetic Liturgy

    Book Details:
  • Author : Tercio Junker
  • Publisher : Wipf and Stock Publishers
  • Release : 2014-02-07
  • ISBN : 1620329565
  • Pages : 185 pages

Download or read book Prophetic Liturgy written by Tercio Junker and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2014-02-07 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The primary purpose of Prophetic Liturgy is to inquire into the prophetic dimension of the liturgy. Some questions addressed in the book are: How can a liturgy be prophetic? How can liturgy form and transform individuals and communities? In which sense does the liturgy facilitate a living participation in socio-political-economic life? How does the sacramental practice challenge the church to mediate God's gifts of grace, love, justice, and mercy to the world? Possible answers for these questions begin to emerge as we develop an understanding of religious praxis as an active and dynamic prophetic action, in which the community of faith claims its identity, promotes an engaged faithful Christian life, and affirms the sacramental life of the church as a source of formation and inspiration for prophetic praxis, mediating God's gift for the life of the world. There is risk in presenting an option for prophetic praxis, in that it may go beyond the comfort zone of a community and engender spiritual and political alienation. The most challenging ethical hope of this book is to provide the worshiping community with prophetic awareness of socio-economic injustice, while at the same time preserving the community's historical-cultural identity, its religious values, and its sacramental spirituality.

This book was released on 2020-11-24 with total page 615 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The study of the reciprocal relationship between the Bible and popular culture has blossomed in the past few decades, and the time seems ripe for a broadly-conceived work that assesses the current state of the field, offers examples of work in that field, and suggests future directions for further study. This Handbook includes a wide range of topics organized under several broad themes, including biblical characters (such as Adam, Eve, David and Jesus) and themes (like Creation, Hell, and Apocalyptic) in popular culture; the Bible in popular cultural genres (for example, film, comics, and Jazz); and "lived" examples (such as museums and theme parks). The Handbook concludes with a section taking stock of methodologies and the impact of the field on teaching and publishing. The Oxford Handbook of the Bible and American Popular Culture represents a major contribution to the field by some of its leading practitioners, and will be a key resource for the future development of the study of both the Bible and its role in American popular culture.
